We came here because my friend is a quilter. She was interested in their Japanese fabrics and came away with several unusual choices. I ended up with«plasticated» Hawaiian fabric to use as a tablecloth! What a find! One of the best selections and we visited two other quilt shops on the Big Island. Would highly recommend this shop as a once-in-a-lifetime experience and two ladies who both had a great attitude.

It is like walking back in time. The sales ladies were very helpful. They cut with precision — something you don’t see anymore. They have beautiful Hawaiian and Japanese cottons. It was just what I was looking for. I was happy to support a deserving local business.

An eclectic mix of old and new. Has a general store turned fabric store vibe. The general store being the older bit, I swear there were panty hose for sale from the 1970s. The fabric is diverse. Quilting cottons, poly blends, shirting. Some fun newer Japanese bolts and panels. Come curious. This shop stores things like my grandma, under lots of plastic!

Great fabric selection, amazing prices, and a really broad selection of prints. The service was friendly and helpful. We’ll call the building rustic. There was no dedicated parking that I saw, so you have to find street parking which wasn’t hard the day I went. The place is packed fairly tight with fabrics, so you may have to side step through some spaces to see everything.

A very cute shop that we stumbled upon on our recent trip to Kona. The fabric selection is really fun, especially since we rarely see prints like this on the East Coast. The staff was very friendly and ready to help, but not overbearing. Only wish I could have gotten a bunch of fabric to bring home in my suitcase :) instead of the fat quarters that I picked out.

This fabric store has lots of fabric prints! If you love fabrics and are in the area, this is a must go. I bought a bunch of Hawaiian fabrics with pretty colored flowers! The average price for 1 yard is around $ 6 – 7, but you can buy quarters(spares that they have in rolls next to the cashier area) for $ 1.75. The place is run by two quiet ladies with a very friendly smile. I hardly recommend checking this place out.

Kimura Store has every type of fabric print you can imagine. There’s rows and rows and rows… and rows. If you’re looking for fabric, this is the place the go. Impressive selection and a super nice lady ready to assist.

This store typifies an old department store feel of a bygone era. I made several trips there and bought something every time. They have a huge selection of Hawaiian fabrics, batiks and other fabrics. This is a must-see on the Big Island. The town is interesting as well.

This is the place for wonderful fabrics of all kinds. As both a quilter and garment sewer, I often find that unique piece that meets a need I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. There are some very special, somewhat expensive and unusual fabrics that inspire you to create something special. I always visit when I am here for a while; last year I even got the local«Kamiana» discount, so I have obviously shopped here a lot over the years.

This place is remarkable! It’s one of those places that you are afraid will go away soon, but it’s been there forever. They have beautiful fabrics of all sorts, mostly Asian, that I had never seen before. We sure don’t get these bolts on the East Coast! And the prices are perfectly reasonable. I found bolts on 25% discount that had many yards left. A quilter’s dream!

This place is a Kona institution — a place where generations of locals bought fabric at reasonable prices. We make a point of stopping in every time we visit because it’s important to support small businesses such as this.

A great fabric store all around! Had a great variety of beautiful fabrics at about $ 4.95 per yard. The staff was quick and friendly and the experience was wonderful.

Great fabric store! Definately the place to buy all kinds of Hawaiian and Japanese fabrics for excellent prices. I found tons of fabric for $ 4.99/yard that I got for a Hawaiian quilt. A little small and cramped, but a great place to get the fabrics you need for your Hawaiian projects.
