Stopped by this gem on my way out to go hiking. I had the veggie quiche with papaya and coffee. It honestly was one of the best quiches I ever had. It is a great place for morning coffee with an amazing view on the back deck. Definitely will be back.

Great little café in the middle of the coffee farms on the Kona coast. I had the egg sandwich and a fresh muffin with my coffee. Very friendly and informative as well. I ate on the patio overlooking the ocean. If you want to eat somewhere without the crowds and noise, this is the place.

Stopped by on the way down to captain cook. We got an iced coffee, best one we had the whole week on the big Island. The lady was very friendly and gave us some great tips on some local gems. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to return a second time but they were closed.

Good vibes from staff and the owner especially is a very hard working woman. The baked goods are satisfying, shop is always clean, and the hours are conveinent as well. Best thing to try is the Tea Latte’s!

Stopped here on my way to the beach for a quick bite. The view was pretty, and the food was yummy! We had the breakfast panini and the ham and cheese quiche special, and they were both good. I felt bad for the staff because the table next to us were complete jerks — the woman seemed to think she was entitled to a silver spoon and a gold plate, but other than overhearing her constant bitching, it was a lovely breakfast.

Awesome café! We stopped here for lunch after spending the morning and early afternoon paddling around by Captain Cook. So happy to have discovered this place since it had just opened this year so was not in any of the guidebooks. Lovely owner, clean place, large fresh salads and cold and panini sandwiches as well as a great selection of coffee drinks. Also a beautiful view of the water from the back patio terrace and nice selection of desserts. We had a delicious quiche and the Greek salad with a chai latte and a cookies and cream stuffed cream puff. All great! Highly recommend. Very friendly, the atmosphere is good, wifi is good, prices are decent insofar as coffee shop drinks cost, and there is a lovely view from the balcony.

This small café/coffee shop in Kealakekua, 10 minutes south of Keahou, is absolutely the best coffee around. Nick & Rita own their own coffee plantation, roast and brew it themselves. Rita makes the best Cappuccino(of course, ’cause she’s Italian). A former restaurateur from Vancouver, she knows her stuff. The baked pastries are to die for and she serves breakfast and lunch Paninis and sandwiches, along with the pastries. Tastefully remodeled, with an outside view deck, this is a must if you want to get away from the touristy places.

Quaint little café off 11 just outside of Kailua. Stopped here on our way south and enjoyed breakfast. I had the veggie egger, an English muffin topped with eggs, cheese, avocado, onion, and spinach. My husband had a blueberry parfait and porridge. We each had iced espresso drinks. Everything was good and we sat on the back porch taking in the view with our meal.

Second time here; first for breakfast. Food wise, more a two-and-half-star place. Coffee’s great; décor nice; outdoor seating cozy; the food pedestrian. Ordered the Rita’s Special bagel. Basically tomato slices on a toasted bagel seasoned with salt, pepper and olive oil. Tomatoes were cold and tasteless, more orangey than red, as in not ripe. Never refrigerate tomatoes. However, we didn’t go there for the food. Went to «talk story» and linger over a cup of coffee. Almost 20 bucks for two bagels and two coffees. Catching up with a friend? Worth it.

I was excited to try this little spot because between Captain Cook and Kona, there isn’t much there. Modern and clean! They’ve got a nice little bathroom in the corner too which helps ;) I ordered a coffee and veggie sandwich. It was delicious and all handmade freshly on the spot. My favorite thing was getting the carrot sticks on the side to nibble. Super healthy! They also had a variety of homemade pastries and cookies.

Every time I come in I get grumpy faces from the employees, short answers, and no one seems to enjoy their job which reflects in the atmosphere. Also, the post six times they’ve over charged on my bagel, you’d think they’d figure out how to use a register by now… I refuse to go there now

My favorite«Caffe» to stop in when I’m in the area. Beautifully decorated with lots of seating inside and outside with a view. Compared to what it was before(Orchid Isle Café), it’s night and day! Every inch of this café is brand new and absolutely gorgeous. Everything in the bakery and on the menu is delicious! I’ve been there enough to say I’ve tried nearly everything! The owner and staff are extremely friendly and inviting. Definitely must stop in when you’re in the area. Easy to find, they’re located right on the main highway with ample parking.

The breakfast sandwiches are excellent but the dessert is absolutely amazing. We sampled the push pops — sooooo good; the lilikoi bar; peanut butter bar and the lilikoi cream puff. All desserts were phenomenal! Lattes were great also! Friendly staff and nice view!

Today we tried the turkey provolone panini and the coffee brave. I asked for bacon on the panini because it’s that kind of day. Panini was delicious, as were the coffees. Great service also.

So excited to have such a fabulous new place for breakfast & lunch. They did an amazing job on the remodel and it’s nothing at all like it was when Orchid café(which is a good thing) The menu is great and the bakery display case is the best I’ve seen in Kona, it was almost impossible to not order one of everything it really was. Decided on a few breakfast menu items as well as muffins and chocolate mousse for later. Later ended up being as soon as we walked across the street to our car :) Well done on all aspects and we look forward to stopping in as often as possible.

Based on the first visit, it’s a 3.5 star. I’m feeling generous, so I rounded it up to 4. I will return few more times to finalize my review. The coffee was good. I had their house brew, and it was pretty good. They have a small roaster inside the store, so I assume they roast their own, which by itself does not guarantee good coffee. I roast my own coffee at home, so that alone does not impress me, but the effort is definitely positive. The view is nice, with a small lanai seating. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated. The staff seem very nice. And it is much better than the Orchid Isle Café(that is what this place used to be). The food needs a little work. I am partly to blame for what I ordered(artichoke cheese panini). Artichoke in Kona? What was I thinking? I must have thought I was in Castroville. I should have known better. The artichoke had very little flavor(I’m guessing it came in a jar), and it tasted more like a plain grilled cheese sandwich. I will try something else next time. And the apple pecan turnover? Well, I don’t think apple and pecan are good combination. And the dough looked and tasted like a frozen in-a-tube variety. I will try other selections from their bakery next time. For now, a generous 4 star. May 2015 update: It is a solid 4-star(upgraded from 3.5). Their bakery and dessert offerings have gradually expanded. Their croissant is very good. Their smoothies are better than Jamba Juice’s.
