The Spa At Cinco Ranch

I am so disappointed and won’t be returning! I went and got a massage that my students gave me as a teacher appreciation gift. I was so excited to get a nice relaxing massage. The massage was so hard and rough. Not nice or relaxing at all! The day after my neck and shoulders feel like they are bruised and so soar. I feel like I have been beaten up.

I love getting a massage and sitting in the steam room at this spa. You can arrive and check in 30 minutes before your appointment, to have time to change into the comfy robes and also sit in the steam room. I’ve had four or five massages here and have always enjoyed every minute. My only complaint is that appointments are not staggered much, so it seems like everyone is trying to change at the same time.

I got a gift card for my birthday and went for a hair cut. I was charged $ 70. $ 50 for cut and $ 20 for the lady to blow dry my hair which was a bob and they charged for long hair. I gave her a $ 15 tip due to how much it came out to. When I got home, my hair had long strands hanging randomly so my husband had to cut them off till I could get another appointment elsewhere. It literally looked as if she tied my hair in a pony and cut it. I called them to tell them that I have $ 15 credit and wondered if they could just give me money back. They said no which I understand since they are running a business. I explained why and they said I could use it to buy hair products. I didn’t want a refund or anything. Heck, I even was ok with them not giving me the money for the credit, but I don’t know why they didn’t try to make it right with me.

Cynthia. I love you. The massage, both times by Cynthia, was amazing. She found things in my back and shoulder and hips I didn’t even know were there. If I could give you more stars I would. The locker rooms are great, the steam room and showers and amenities were great, the fruit water after was awesome. Nothing over the top, just a solid, wonderful, relaxing time. And one more time: Cynthia, when I’m in town from NYC, you’re the girl for me.

I absolutely LOVED my first experience here!
I had the Scrub/​Rose Mud wrap and massage. I was able to add on an additional 30 min to 30 min which is included and it is WELL WORTH the extra $ 50. For $ 180 I had 3 hours of absolute pampering and will DEFINITELY be going back. Lisa was my technician and was an absolute delight. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for a truly spectacular morning. I definitely will go a bit earlier than I did so that I can relax longer in the aromatherapy steam room the next time though. I only had a little bit of time to do that so noted for next time for sure! Thanks again!!!

This place of so nice and comfortable. I go here at least once a month. Very relaxing and week worth it. I do of course have my favorites but I’m sure all of them are experts at what they do.

What a wonderful, calm, CLEAN environment to relax in in our area. Spa pedicures with Helen are a personal favorite! A variety of great services are offered at reasonable prices for such a high-​end spa.

Mourning the loss of Lana at Spa at Cinco Ranch who actually knew how to color and cut long hair. Trip 2 last night because Melissa left a nice feathery ring of gray around my face even though she blended the rest nicely but leaving an inch of old split, dry ends. 3 times now I’ve listened to her bragging about how good she is and used to teach. Then how do you not recognize when color isn’t blended? How do you not know you left an inch of damaged hair and didn’t blend my layers so i now have a frizzy pyramid. Because you spent so much time talking you didn’t pay attention? 2 hours l later and an intensive treatment (that i was told should be grateful for) thought I was ok but she sent me home with wet hair because I didn’t want to wait an hour to get dried and what did I find when it dried? Oh… not gray but big blotches of clown red. Grrrr. That’s time and money wasted I’ll never get back. Could have done better and saved $ 200 if I’d gone to super cuts. 5 years as a customer and now i have to find somewhere new. Furious and frustrated.

A pretty standard experience. I went in for a massage and mani/​pedi… My massage therapist was very nice, quiet and consistent during the massage. The mani and pedi cost $ 90 together and I could have gotten both better at my usual nail salon close to my house. The nail therapist was pushy with upgrading to shellac as I didn’t want to. The massage during the pedi was very fast pace and the hot stone was used so fast on my skin it was uncomfortable. While I was getting the pedi I could hear someone at the front desk getting extremely frustrated and mouthy with whom I assumed was a client over the phone. having worked in the spa industry for ten years… not up to my expectations as far as price and experience.

I visit Cher here for a massage only.
The relaxation only begins for me once I’ve got past the front desk. For some reason every time I visit it’s hectic in there. It’s nice when they tell me to go straight through…
The amenities are pretty good, but the real treasure is Cher.
She is a lovely lady who gives an amazing holistic massage. I don’t know if it’s her knowledge, her awareness or just her energy but every time I come out of The Spa At Cinco Ranch I feel like 2 million bucks.

I don’t know where to start. My husband bought me a gift certificate for my birthday. When I scheduled the appointment, he sent me the receipt and the purchase order from the company. The facial was one of the bests I’ve ever had (that’s not where the low rating comes in). By the time I went to pay for the gratuity, they told me how much I needed to pay for the whole service. I explained that my husband purchased this online and I had all receipts and emails. They told me that meant nothing to them and that I needed a physical gift certificate. They proceeded to tell me that I needed to pay for the service. They embarrassed me in front of other clients and made me feel horrible! This was a birthday gift!!! Nowhere on the website did they say I needed a physical gift card. How would we know this? I was told the owner would call me. I waited 3 weeks and finally called him, Mike Sellers to explain the situation. His first response was «the front have strict guidelines to follow.» What kind of customer service is that? He then compared his facility to Target and explained you can’t use a receipt if you purchase a gift card at Target. I’ve never had this problem at a spa before. He did apologize and said he would ‘coach’ the front staff. Did I mention the lady at the front said it would come out of her pocket if I didn’t pay!!! Why would I double pay for a service? My husband paid! I will never set foot in that place. What a horrible experience!

Despite reading some of the other comments on Unilocal,against my better judgment I decided to try and set up a couple of services for me and my friend for the second weekend in January. I was not able to schedule on Saturday and decided to try Friday. The woman answering the phone stated Friday was available and asked for my last name which is Gonzalez — she asked me to spell it. Then asked for my first name, Cynthia, and asked me to spell it. So far, no problem although a wee bit annoyed since the majority of people in Texas have the last name Gonzalez. Anyway, she asked for my phone number I gave her my area code and phone number and she repeated it and got it wrong; I gave it to her again (area code and phone number); she again got it wrong. I gave it to her a third time (this time just the number) and she asked me for the area code. At this point I was sooo frustrated — if it was this much hassle just for her to get my name and number, I figured there was no way she would be able to successfully navigate setting up four services each for me and my friend — I told her to forget it and hung up!

Amazing massage and facility. I would have given this 5 stars if it was not for the front desk girl. At the time of check out she charged me for a prenatal massage, which i did not receive! I explained to her over and over again that I signed up for the 30 min massage and pedicure package. She insisted that I got a prenatal massage and would not budge on the increased pricing. The massage therapist did not do a prenatal massage, I was face down the whole time, she worked over my entire back. I have massage therapists who work for me and I know what a pregnancy massage is. There was nothing special or «prenatal» about this massage. When I asked to speak to a manager the ditzy front desk girl said that they left for the day and there was nothing she can do. She was rude, inconsiderate and lacks good customer service. Unfortunately, I will not be back nor would I really recommend this place to the fact of the customer service. There are plenty of other spas that have excellent customer service around Houston.

Zelda is excellent with waxes including Brazilian! Highly recommend!!! So glad to find someone finally!

I’ve been to this spa a couple times a year for 5 years now. Their facility is starting to look like it needs a facelift… not as clean, rusty here and there, missing tiles, etc.
Facials are and have always been top notch.
Massages — mediocre for what you pay for. Recently the last 20 minutes of my massage were essentially the therapist loudly yawning and just playing with my hair. Clearly bored and ready to go (I was last appointment)
My biggest complaint though is when I went back to locker room, they were mopping and using odorous cleaning products. I don’t want to end my spa experience scurrying to get out of their way smelling bleach.

I really enjoyed my 90 minute massage with Paula. She did an excellent job and really responded to my needs. I felt totally relaxed and at ease, just what I needed as a new Mom! She gave me great advice and suggestions to do at home. I would definitely recommend her! My massage was followed by a pedicure with Tiffany which was somewhat disappointing. I was left wanting more, this experience was not at all what I was expecting when I heard «spa pedicure.» I’ve honestly had much better pedicures at strip mall nail salons, for a much better price. Long story short, go for the massage, skip the mani/​pedi.

THIS REVIEW DOES NOT INCLUDE THEIR MASSAGE THERAPISTS AND THE RELAXATION AREAS!!! Their spa area is actually quite phenomenal, and the therapists are extremely professional, but I recommend that they close down everything else to the right of the front desk. I have also never had a facial or any of the other spa services other than a massage, so I cannot comment on those.
I have been here twice now for a massage, GREAT both times, however you must go for the full-​hour, b/​c if your back and shoulders are as tight and as full of knots as mine are, the technician isn’t going to be able to work those areas enough to fully reduce the tension.
Twice for pedicures, both times were nothing special. But nothing really awful either. Independently all the pedicure technicians are really nice, even though they weren’t doing my nails, they were making conversation and were genuinely nice to talk to. I just had a bad experience with my own technician constantly checking her phone and talking about how much she wanted to go home.
And once for a manicure, and it was the worst experience ever, I will not be returning for nail services that’s for sure. With that being said, on to my review.
I was all of 5 minutes late and the lady at the front desk took it upon herself to reduce my pedicure from a spa pedicure to a regular pedicure. This is how closely they book their technician’s appointments, so DON’T BE LATE.
I received the worst manicure ever from this joint… I don’t think the lady I was assigned to even filed my nails. My cuticles already look terrible again (this is the next day). And I have never had someone put polish on my nails so sloppy, I still have polish around the cuticle area and on the tips of my fingers. I mean seriously, if you can’t put nail polish on correctly, use the other tools available to you in order to remove the polish from areas of the skin that were accidentally coated. In addition to her lack of being able to paint my nails, she decided to use some random nail polish color after I showed her a light nude color, maybe she thought I was 12 years old and would appreciate some shimmery glittering looking polish, who knows, but I’m 26 and recently graduated from law school…
Almost the all of the conversations the technician’s were having around me consisted of how much they wanted to go home and how tired they were of being there, it made me feel like a burden. She also left me sitting in the manicure room with paraffin wax on your hands just for 10 minutes completely alone and in silence, literally there was NO ONE in the room with me… still not sure why this one happened.
Keep in mind that my fiancé had purchased a gift card for me for valentines day, but he also wanted to ensure that I took a ME day while I’m studying for the Texas Bar Exam… way to NOT help me relax and forget about my exam for a few hours. All in all, I’m just glad I ended with the massage, being able to sit in the steam room and take a hot shower afterwards was so relaxing and calming I was even able to come home and take a nap. So huge thumbs up for that area!

After having the best day spas on speed dial in Houston, I was reluctant to try one in Katy. Moving to Cinco Ranch this summer forced me to think «outside the loop» for many things! Doing my due diligence on Unilocal and a few other sites, I decided to give this place a shot. A summer of stress followed by a fall that consisted of 2 moves left me and my skin feeling lifeless and neglected so I needed to pamper myself and I was very impressed.
First of all, the spa is serene and tranquil from the moment that you walk from your car into the reception area. The dressing rooms were adequate and the waiting area for treatments was very calming. I had a great consultation with the esthetician and she recommended a facial and peel that took my skin from sand paper to baby’s butt soft in two treatments. She asked about my skin regimen, but was not pushy with trying to sell me the five thousand products they offer.
The only downside, which is typical for most spas is the lack of evening hours. Not being a fan of Saturday appointments, I have to use my lunch hour to get my treatments during the week. While my face and thighs are thankful for skipping a meal, my co-​workers are none to pleased with the grouch with the glowing skin the afternoon following my appointment.
I would definitely return, however, I have become geographically desirable once again and will have to resort to my speed dial for the inner loop day spas.

I’m giving this 2 stars because it really bothers me when people I am paying to paint my nails and toes comment on how short they are. So I keep a short nail… so what… but both times I have been there the nail specialist makes comments about how I «bite» my nails. I reply, «I dont bite my nails, I just keep them short» Why should I need to defend myself on my spay day? I gave it a second chance and I wont be back

I had the most relaxing experience there. I’ve been to fancy Spas before but this beats them all. It is tucked away in the suburbs of CR. Luckily, I live 5 minutes away.
It has all the luxuries and amenities of posh spa without the pretentiousness of contending places. My couple’s one hour massage was so relaxing. My masseuse did such a great job, I think she cracked my back.
They conveniently have a sauna in the locker rooms and go above and beyond making your experience heavenly!
