History

Established in 2006.

— Mirus Academy began as «The Curious Mind Homeschool Center,» a home school bookstore offering curriculum and classes to homeschool students. The classes become extremely popular with West Houston/​Katy area homeschoolers and soon grew to over 100 students & a dozen teachers.

2010– As the classes continue to grow, it becomes apparent that what the Katy community needs is not another homeschool center, but a private school that meets each child’s individual needs. As a result, the homeschool center closes, and the class program transitions to a private school called The Curious Mind School.

2011– By popular vote, The Curious Mind School changes its name to Mirus Academy («Mirus», pronounced «meer-​us,» is a Latin word for «Curious»). In May 2011, the school graduates its first class of seniors.
