After reading so many mixed reviews, I had to try this place. I was told that this location is better than the Katy Mills location. This restaurant is large, so many tables that I doubt there would ever be a long wait here. The chips and hot sauces were just okay. The green sauce was a bit better than I have had at other local restaurants. The beef fajitas we received were overcooked and chewy. The flavor was good, but not enough to compensate for the chewy beef. Beans, rice, guac, and pico were on par with other places. $ 31 for Fajitas for two. A bit pricey for the lower quality of the meal. The taco meat lacked seasoning making for a bland taco. The taco shells were thicker than most and extra crunchy. Service was typical for a tex-mex restaurant. Overall I would say this place is not worth going out of your ways for. If you live close and are in a hurry this place may suit your needs. If your looking for great tex-mex, keep searching.

Still the best. My family has been coming to this location for over a decade. I went back recently as part of a whirlwind weekend in my old stomping grounds, and it was just as good as I remember. The thing they do best here compared with other restaurants like Cazadores and El Jarrito is the meats. Their steak dishes have a smokey flavor that can’t be beat. Also, dat green sauce.

Love the steak queso with fried tortilla chips. Great fajitas and love the thin tortillas. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Texas the spinach enchiladas are good only with the white sour cream sauce, they need to add it back on the menu, it’s better than the red sauce. It’s easier than having to explain each time about the original white cream sauce. Oscar is excellent my favorite waiter even though they moved him back over to Katy Mills. Service is excellent, always full drinks and chips and salsa. Love the green salsa.

BESTSERVICEEVER! My drinks didn’t even get halfway done before servers quickly refilled them. Kids meal here is the most food I’ve ever seen on a kids menu for only $ 3.99– less than a Happy Meal!

Decided to give los cucos another chance, sorry we did. We ordered the chili con queso which was passable as an appetizer, just wasn’t that good. For our main entrée we had the fajitas for two. The meat was horrible, I mean so bad I bad to spit the meat out. For 50 dollars there’s a bunch of other restaurants in Houston that serve way better fajitas and chips and dip. I say avoid like the plague.

I’m cuckoo for Los Cucos! My family and I went here for the first time tonight and wow… excellent. Friday is Mariachi night, so the place was on fire with great music. Superb food and the service was top notch. Can’t wait to go back. We were so stuffed. Yum!

Good food, good service. They were also able to work with my dairy allergy, which is a struggle with most Mexican(usually cheese and/or involves butter) food.

A Tex-Mex restaurant. What could be more cliché than that in Texas right? Why even bother trying to find a decent spot because they are all the same right? Well, Los Cucos strives to break that stereotype and mold, and on my visit, they did just that. The ambiance of the place is great straight from walking in. You are prompted greeted and seated, and there is plenty of space so you don’t have the feeling of sharing your chips and salsa with the table next to you. Speaking of chips and salsa, my girls did not stop eating or raving about how good the chips, and specifically, the green salsa was. I had to check to see if they had all fingers at one point. With them that enthused about the complimentary appetizer, I was worried that the entrée would disappoint. Yet, why would I think as such? This place has such a large variety, to whereas they have to be good, and they will find something to suit your palette’s fancy. There are soups, salads, nachos, quesadillas, stuffed avocados, chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, platters, etc., etc. There is surely something there to peak your interest. I looked at the prices and realized that with the pricing this reasonable, the portions will be small. I already planned on getting my un-Tex-Mex fill by stopping at Taco Bell. I was definitely wrong. The portion sizes are plenty. My girls didn’t speak much during the entrée, and I had to ensure they were breathing in between gulps. They both did stop long enough to ask me to try some of my food. The kids sized quesadilla was plentiful, especially with fries and rice. The same goes with the kids sized shrimp. I had the house specialty: Fajitas a la Cucos. That was chicken and beef fajita meat covered with sautéed mushrooms, fresh onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro and Los Cucos Sauce. I must admit, I definitely appreciated tasting fresh garnish and fresh toppings. You can tell that this stuff wasn’t sitting around for hours. From the smells alone coming from that sizzling grill, you know you had freshness. The taste did not disappoint. My girls echoed my sentiment. On the way home they thanked me for such a delicious meal and stated they were full many times. Dinner at Los Cucos includes great pricing, portions and taste. Los Cucos does Tex-Mex right! Fatman approved and frugal meter approved. Note: They have menu items that are not listed on the menu! Ask you waiter what secret and/or popular items that you don’t see on a very extensive menu. You just may wish to try those out too!

Yummy! Very fast service and delicious food. Chicken quesadillas and Los cucos tacos are my favorite. Fresh ingredients. Packed on weekend nights.

I have not dined-IN at this location yet, but the take-out experience beats the Katy mills location by a long shot. Food is always ready when expected, hostesses are friendly & ready to help, & I never have to aggressively get their attention like i usually do @ the other location. I can only expect that the great front-door attitude translates to the waiters/waitresses as well.

I have been coming here for years. Great salsa(the best) and strong margaritas. They have expanded in the past couple years, which is nice. They also have a smoking section, while most places do not. Full bar as well.

Went there last night with the family. We were a group of 20. We call them at the last minute to make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. Once we got there the service was great. We never had to wait on anything or ask for something two times. We all had a combination of different things including the fajitas, stuffed avocado, the beef soup, etc and everything was delicious. It was so great to go somewhere where everyone thought the service and food were great not an easy feat with a group of 20 people. So kudos to Los Cucos Katy mills their personnel, and their cooks!

I ate there today with my daughter. The bill was incorrect so I asked the waiter. He advised that they had new pricing already entered into the register, but the new menus hadn’t arrived. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me I had ordered an off menu item so I was charged more. When I got a menu & showed her what I ordered that was on menu, she argued that the price I was charged, $ 2 more than listed on menu, had always been the price. I told her that was a blatant lie. She then blamed the waiter for making a register error. They didn’t cheat me because I caught them. How many have they cheated & how long has has this been going on. Buyer beware! This time it cost the waiter a tip & the manager some credibility.

Not bad for some Tex-Mex food. The quesadillas are delicious as well as the grilled fajitas. Be sure to get the charro beans and order the flan for dessert.

Pretty decent. This chain has been around for a long time and they can be counted on to deliver the goods, at least in my opinion. They aren’t my favorite, but they are still pretty good. This location in particular is kind of cool. It’s in Old Katy and is located in a shopping mall. This was my first time at this location and I kind of liked how old school it felt, but it was still up to date and nice. I had the cheese enchiladas, my husband had the chalupas. Very good, all of it. We’d definitely go back to this one, and I would definitely recommend them.

We walked in at 4pm and the place was empty. They took us to our table we had to get up and get our own plates and napkins off a near by table. At one point after getting our drinks we waited 15 minutes after having empty drinks before we got up and went and ask for more tea. The manager came to our table and seemed that it wasn’t an issue that the service was horrible. We have been going there for years and after the last few times of bad service we won’t be going back. I suggest you go to Tony’s or El Jarrito both on Mason Rd.

This place is a Katy institution. I have gone to this place for at least the last 15 years. It’s right on the main drag of Old Town Katy which makes it convenient and right off I-10. I was surprised to go in recently and see that they have expanded the restaurant considerably. It looks quite posh on the inside now with a grand entryway(with two dead plants flanking it). Gone is the hive-like feeling of interconnected rooms with different tile flooring and precarious tripping hazards. But something of a personality has left with the place too. Though it was a Sunday night, the place seemed toned down and quite. For the food, I was pleased to see that the prices hadn’t changed to reflect the remodel. My old favorite Pollo Del Mar was as good as always. It consists of chicken breast with succulent shrimp stuffed inside. It is then slathered with a buttery pepper and cut tomato sauce. It is best when cut up and put in the warm flour tortillas provided with the meal. I will certainly be back as I have for the past decade. Though the place looks different, the food is as good as always.
