Hertz Rent A Car

Worst experience here. Started off fine until I looked at my bill. (Which was not explained to me and I was quickly escorted outside after they printed it off and handed it to me) There was almost an extra $ 100 on there. When I went to ask why, he said that since I got their last car without a reservation they had to go in and manually charge me and a «vehicle upgrade» was the only way to do that. First off, there were clearly many more in the parking lot. He also replied by saying «oh and you went to Avis first and they were out of cars. Supply and demand. We had a car for you and they didn’t»
Save yourself the hassle of dealing with their poor customer service and go somewhere else.

Very poor management. Asked to see the manager and two employees claimed that they are the assistant managers. Came to pick up my rental, the car with not washed. The guy went to get the car washed. It’s been 20 minutes and still waiting for the car. When I asked why the car wasn’t washed, they said they were busy.

They had a nice car and worked with insurance which receives 3 stars.
After I was done, I put in gas to what it started out with and returned the vehicle.
A week later my card was charged $ 8 for an unknown reason. –1 star
Two weeks later my card was charged $ 15 for something else. –1 star

One star is too much. I’ve used hertz twice within the past two weeks and it has been a nightmare!

This was my first time using Hertz. The experience was fine, quick check in, friendly enough service, easy drop off… however when the bill came, somewhere, at some point when I reserved my car I apparently agreed to all kinds of insurance and add ons. My 1 day rental of a corolla cost right at $ 400. Ouch!
When I reached out to them to explain my dilemma, I was given a courteous «your loss… you should have known better» type response. While technically they are correct, this is pretty crummy customer service… I will not be using them again in the future.

All in all: worst car rental experience in my life. When I picked up the car, I noticed that there are several small dents or scratches. So I thought that these existing damages should be recorded before I drove away. But the Hertz person told me that I didn’t need to worry about that since I bought LDW (Loss Damage Waiver).
After I drove the car for half hour, I found that the maintenance light was on, and some maintenance code is shown (I figured this out by stopping the car, and reading the manual, which wasted me 15 mins), which means the car need to be sent to dealer for maintenance now! But I was on a very busy schedule for a two days trip, so I have to bear with it anyway. But the maintenance reminder really madet me feel extremely unsafe when driving.
When I returned the car, the hertz lady checked my car and shown a small dent on the window to me. She said I should pay for that damage. Then I told her that this damage was already there when I picked up the car, and I also bought LDW. Then she said in that case, my LDW will used to cover the damage. Her whole point made no sense at all to me: Her logic was like this: First, if I didn’t buy LDW, I should pay for a pre-​existing damage which not caused by me. Second, my LDW will be used to pay for a damage which was not caused by me. When I questioned her with her logic, she and another Hertz man even laughed at me. (I guess they could not explain, but only laugh, since there were also some other customers in the lobby) Although I didn’t charge for any extra money for the damage in the end, this experience is still the worst in my life.
Anyway, I won’t recommend Hertz to any of my friends.

They are so very nice …

Went to hire a car from here last week. They made a mistake whilst processing the insurance side of things. Overcharged me. They promised they would deal with it. Still trying to get it sorted. Terrible customer service. I definitely will think twice about renting a car from here again.

I had to rent a car here through AAA because my car was in the repair shop. The person who picked me up was very personable and respectful. That’s where the good part of the story ends. I get there to wait 20+ minutes with just one person in front of me. When I finally get processed, I was taken outside to a dirty car that smelled slightly like urine. When I asked for a clean car, the representative told me he’d give me a voucher to go and wash it myself. Horrible service.

Could i give them NO stars… Most horrible customer service experience in LIFE! I went in to get a car because my car was flooded and Insurance was trying to figure out what to do with it. I walked in it took at least 20 mins for the only girl working to even acknowledge me! she was with a customer but they were just having a conversation… guess trying to kill time while waiting on some information. It was finally my turn 45 minutes later and the girl was rude and really tried to pressure me into getting their insurance plan, I finally called my insurance agent and was assured that i didn’t need it and was able to move on. When i brought the car back there were 2 women in there and a guy who handled the cars. the guy was very nice, he got the process started but the women in the office never acknowledged me, then when it was my turn i walk up to the lady’s desk and the phone rings, she answers it and talks forever! I’m in retail and my theory is DEAL WITH THE CUSTOMER IN FRONT OF YOU FIRST! so after waiting for her to get off the phone she is able to print the receipt out for the return of the car. I waited their 20 mins for a receipt! I was sooo mad! Do NOT go here next time i will go anywhere but there, the car selection was nice but the ladies in the office were not.
