Top Notch Carpentry

We own a condo in the Ala Moana area, which desperately needed a remodel. After posting for help on IG and FB, I was referred to Top Notch Carpentry’s owner, Richard. Being that the referral came from someone close to me, I basically jumped in, head first. I called Richard a few days later, explaining what I needed done, and within 24 hours, he was able to actually go to my place to physically see it for himself. After assessing what needed to be done, as well as listening to my concerns, needs, and wants, it took him less than 24 hours to put a quote together for me. We met him that weekend to put down a deposit and sign the contracts.
Me, being me, I had NO idea what was going on, or what really needed to be done, all I had, was a vision of the finished product. Being that I have tenants renting, who happened to be going on a trip, I figured that would be the PERFECT timing. He started the day they left, and completed it a few days after they returned.
Now, here’s the fun part, everything that could have went wrong, went wrong, BUT not on his end, on MY end. From my tenants not moving their car so he could park in their stall, as they were told, to them not clearing out their old fridge to be hauled away by the installation company, to the building manager putting time restraints on Richard’s work hours, to MASSIVE pipes behind the walls, to a water heater that needed to be re-​piped, to deliveries arriving on the wrong day. Let me tell you, this job was nothing short of «the job from hell».
I was frustrated, stressed, and upset with Home Depot, lowes, my tenants, everything under the sun, but everyday, Richard and his men stood there with a smile. They came shopping with me to match cabinets to countertops, they helped me pick out colors for other projects I had going on at the same time, and every step of the way reassured me that it was going to come out just as I envisioned. And let me tell you, it is just GORGEOUS. I don’t have pictures right now because my tenants came home and I didn’t want to disrupt them, BUT I will be updating this review in a few weeks with pictures.
If you’re looking for help, with a remodel these guys are AMAZING. My husband and I will definitely be using them for other properties we own, as well as our own home. I highly recommend everyone to check them out. And coming from me, that’s a big deal, most people who know me, know that I’m very picky, I’m very anal, and I can be your worst nightmare if I don’t like something, but the remodel that Richard and Top Notch Carpentry did on our condo, i LOVE!

Richard & his crew are the best! I needed to have old, gross carpets replaced in 2 bedrooms & I couldn’t be happier that I hired Top Notch Carpentry.

I needed to remodel my much out dated shower. Richard at Top Notch Carpentry was really professional, very reasonable with his prices and the type of work that he does is exceptional! I was so impressed and will be referring all my friends to him!

As a property manager I am always looking for a reliable handyman, so I called Richard the owner of Top Notch Carpentry and ask him if he would assess one of my new rental’s, at no hesitation he said yes, at no cost. I was please to say he new what to look for, and explained what needed to be done. If you need a knowledgeable and honest person, I highly recommend Top Notch Carpentry to do your job.

These guys are awesome! On time, reasonable price, friendly, organized, and quality work in all the jobs I hired them for. My only regret as I’m writing this review is, they will be too popular and on high demand for any future jobs I may need them for. It’s hard to find an honest and quality handyman in this town, but if you find yourself on this Unilocal page looking for someone you can trust, look no further.

These guys are the best! Completely trustworthy to open your home to. Can fix just about anything! Definitely the most reliable. I’d choose them every time.
