Fun Factory

Entertaining for our 3y/​o. However, the employees clearly hate their job and really don’t want to be there. Also, we were there last night when they started blaring «these hoes ain’t loyal» (Chris Brown song), as well as a song with lyrics «little stupid @$$ b****, I ain’t fu**ing with you». The curse words wore omitted, but barley. Then we heard the lyrics «slide your panties to the side». We could do nothing but laugh at the audacity of it, but it was highly inappropriate. Still can’t believe these people have a job. Isn’t this place for young children?! Where are the supervisors here? Completely not ok…

The staff here is friendly. My boyfriend and our three boys just had a fun hour of family time here. 40 $ got us 2000 tickets and many rounds of the arcade games. To me that’s not that bad. This fun factory is a perfect size too. Many games yet spacious. Family day once a week here sounds good.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon for family fun with my Son and my Husband. I love that it wasn’t over crowded. There was a good amount of people, but not to the point where we would bump into one another.
Downfall is that a number of machines were broken. We won a prize from the claw grabber game with the oversized stuffed animals. The lady comes up to us and says «Oh the door to get your prize doesn’t open.» So she opens the door and gives us our prize. That kind of killed the excitement of winning haha. I also saw the employee trying to fix one of the machines by throwing balls at it. Another downfall was that she was the only one working at the time. I had to wait a bit until she got back to me at the counter.
Overall I love fun factory, it’s a great place to go on a date or to have some family fun. Don’t need to blow money on the machines. I set a limit as to how much money I put on my Fun Card. I prefer the VIP card since it is a bit cheaper to play and the minimum is $ 30 which isn’t bad at all. Oh yeah, big plus for the big tubs of sanitizer up front. This is especially good for children, you wouldn’t want your child to get sick after touching all the rides that the previous germy children did. I made sure my family used the sanitizer before and after leaving.

Total rip off! It is very expensive to play once you figure out their token system. The machines are in poor conditions, e.g. cards can’t be read, games don’t work. The workers seem so angry when you ask for assistance. It is just so sad.

I will not spend more than $ 10 in here at a time…

I am the only fool who thinks it would be cheaper to try to win their kid an iPad than to just go and BUY one?
Oh boy, I’m old enough to remember when the Pearlridge location had bumper cars!
My kid likes the toy claw. (Curse you, Pixar for starting that for me) I’m lured by the chance of winning an iPad. It’s a terrible, terrible thing. Aw… try again. Aww. One more time! Yes, the lure of winning an iPad has got me hook, line and sinker.
But I DO have my mock Vegas limit… ten bucks spent, then we’re done. Thank goodness I only have ONE kid.
So yeah, the employees seem like robots and the redemption prizes seem like the stuff my small kid time dentist used to let us choose from. But it’s the only family fun place we have on this side *shrugs* but then again, maybe that’s a good thing.

I can’t believe I spent $ 80 and got crap prizes.
There was nothing else to do on a weekday, and we didn’t want to make a drive all the way to Honolulu for Dave and Buster’s, although we should have.
The prizes are crap, the machines to earn tickets are crap, you only get so little for so much of your money!
The customer service is OKAY, it seems like they don’t really like their job sometimes. I mean I wouldn’t either if you have to deal with people who don’t understand how to operate things or how their games work!
Some of the game machines spit out tickets, some of the game machines already add it to your ‘fun card’. This place blows, everything was so addicting to play and I got so little out of it. It’s so overpriced, at least D&Bs gives me my money’s worth and waaay better prizes. If Fun Factory had better prizes, game machines and probably better deals on their games I would come here more often.
There is always parking, and they are open until like 11p or midnight on Friday and Saturday. They have NO restrooms either, and I think it isn’t worth coming here and wasting your money like a casino and win NOTHING out of it. I would give it even 2 stars but 1 star is what this place truly deserves.

It had been a while since I made my departure from the video game world. Thank god for this place, which I can go and not be committed to any underlying addiction that I may or may have had in the past. It’s good that you would need to PAY for these video games, since having them at home could really be bad. With that said, I come to these gaming centers to just rekindle what I have lost when I was a kid. Now that I am wiser and older, it’s good to see the new games out there, while reintroducing myself to old favorites. While out and about in Kaplei, I discovered Fun Factory. While there are 2 locations near me in Kaimuki (Market City shopping center and Kahala Mall shopping center), I decided to see what games they had out here.
Thankfully, paying money to play helped me think twice about overspending too much on a good thing. Thank you Fun Factory. I spent about $ 10 before ending it. I didn’t want to overkill and spend more than I should. The location is larger than I thought, so there was a good assortment of games for the kids. This place is more for young kids, but its also good for the adults too to come back and reminisce too. The prizes kind of do suck however. I’d rather just buy it for cheap, than trying to win it through the scripts. You probably would be overpaying for it through scripts than buying the prize outright from a toy store. Guess that’s how they make their money.
Only thing about Fun Factory (and Dave and Busters) is the skee ball machine. That’s what I love about Fun Factory. Plus those car racing arcade machines. Those are hot to have in the home. My game playing days are certainly over, but it’s good to have these establishments for those who love to play. My overall experience is still a positive one. Only down side was that there is no restroom inside.
Located at the Kapolei shopping Center, there is plenty of parking in front of the store. After an afternoon of running errands, you may just want to plop down here, have some Phở at Phở 888 and then kill some time at Fun Factory. May be the best fun you’ve had in a while.

No bathroom in a facility that is targeted to kids is inexcusable in my opinion. They also claim to do parties, but can you imagine a birthday party where your guests have to go to the supermarket to use the restroom? Um, no thanks. The games are okay, the prizes junk. I much prefer D&B or CEC.

Somethings you can’t do at home. Like play skeeball. Then some things you can’t do at Fun Factory Kapolei. Like play skeeball. Fun Factory used to be legit, but the range of games is just not the same. Sure they have the ticket winning machines and the ones you hope to knock the tokens over the edge. But the load of stacker games and candy cranes are just too much. I like winning tickets with my family but the bad thing is that the prizes are super crappy! Why you got nice Angry Birds plushes in the games yet I gotta redeem my tickets for horrible dollar store toy prizes? They don’t even have glider planes or parachute men? Oh the horror the kids have to suffer with. It’s sad when I have enough tickets to buy a rice cooker because there’s nothing worth trading every time. Oh well. What you gonna do? I wish I had a skeeball machine.

I remember the days when we used to go to fun factory… mostly at Pearlrige… and play for hours. The games I remember most vividly was red dead revolver, or something like that, and the punching game where you would try to punch it as hard as you could. Then I had a friend named Red who got a job there and got us tons of free tokens. Good times.
Now, fun factory has taken a bit of a backseat to other places that serve food and amusement. Also, with Wii and Playstation, there’s less of a need to go down to your local arcade.
But it’s still A-​OK. My kids still get a kick out of playing the big car racing games and cashing in their tickets for cheap toys… the fun is in the selection I guess. Also, a big plus is it’s location… truly in the neighborhood. We don’t go often but when we do we have a fun time.
But then what else would you expect from a factory of fun.
