Bill Whalley, OD

I was overdue for eye check up and my distance glasses were not as good as before. I couldn’t get in to see the M.D. I usually go to for many months. I know Bill Whalley from my neighborhood and was lamenting one day that I was overdue with my check-​up etc. Said I also needed glaucoma check. He said his office had the ability to do that as well as glasses of course. I always thought I had to go to an ophthamologist for that.
I went to the nice new office in Kapolei. Kelly is the optician and welcomed me upon my arrival. It’s located behind Jack in the Box. Dr. Whalley started the exam and during it I got to see the inside of each of my eyes for the first time. It was like «fantastic journey.» I’m an R.N. and take care of many detached retina patients but never saw the inside of an eye. They have a video monitor that takes a picture and then you can see your own eyes. So that was cool. After suggesting I get no-​line bi-​focals I decided he was right. It was time to accept I need glasses all the time. Ah, vanity. Kelly showed me many styles including designer styles and good-​looking styles than fell within the limits of my insurance.
I had to go back a couple of times to adjust my glasses because one of my ears is lower than the other. No worries. Kelly took me right away and adjusted it. Now it’s a great fit.

Dr Whalley and his staff are very welcoming and helpful. Dr Whalley is honest, and will take his time to explain differences between contacts and prices which is rare in a doctor. He knows his trade, as well as his products. He does his best to provide the most for his patients. He is also easy to talk to and is always attentive to our needs.
He also takes all types of medical insurance, which is always a plus. !
Plus, he has a lot of patience. He never rushes you out of the office or tries to rip you off by telling you to buy the most expensive products. I have had that happen to me before.

Dr. Whalley is very good at what he does. Friendly and thorough. He takes HMSA, HMSA Quest, UHA and an out of network provider with VSP. I recommend you to schedule you’re next eye exam with him. You won’t regret it. :)

Great place, I recommend to anyone who needs contacts or glasses. The entire staff is friendly and respectful. Whenever I need contact lenses or help with anything, they are very kind and fast. I plan to continue my services there for a while. GREAT PLACE! GREAT LOCATION!

Wonderful staff. Friendly and knowledgeable about the products (glasses and contacts) they sell. Terrific prices. Tricare Prime insurance provider. Contact lens fitting was only $ 30. Very important to me is how patient the doctor and staff are with the younger patients. Makes it easier to talk the littles into going and getting the exam. Kudos to Dr. Whalley and his staff.

Great prices. They took my Tricare Prime insurance and all I had to pay was $ 30 for the contact lens fitting. I LOVE my new color contacts. The Dr was very friendly and patient when I couldn’t tell if 1 or 2 was better. I will definitely return for my annual exams!
