Our massage sessions are uniquely catered to each individual.

A variety of techniques can be utilized, including Swedish, deep tissue, lomi lomi, trigger point and sports therapy, depending upon your personal need. And, in keeping with our holistic approach, A Time to Heal proudly uses only natural and organic products. We currently use the Lotus Touch line of all natural lotions and scrubs. We also use 100% essential oils and a variety of fragranced oils for our hot stone therapies.

Massages sessions are available in time frames

of 60, 90, and 120 minutes.

All Massage sessions include the following:

The nature of our business is to give to others. A portion of the proceeds from all massages goes towards A Time to Heal Cancer Care Program, offering massages at little to no cost to those living with cancer.

In 2004, I began planting the seeds of what I envisioned as a full-​service massage therapy center. I wanted to bring together the best elements of massage: the healing from strains and injuries, the recovery for tired and sore muscles and the overall relaxation from the every day stresses of life.

But, along my journey, I discovered Hawaii’s need for an even more specialized element of massage. Every day, there are more people diagnosed with some form of cancer. In some other states and other parts of the world, massage has been proven to have dramatic effects on individuals living with cancer. The benefits range from pain management, increased energy, less insomnia and an overall positive effect on the individual’s quality of life. Forming A Time To Heal’s Cancer Care Program bridged this gap in Hawaii, and I am proud to announce that we are the first formal cancer care massage program in the state.

My husband and I got massages here on our honeymoon. They were amazing. Before the massages they took us back in the quiet spa area and soaked our feet. The girls brought us water and were so nice and friendly. They offered to take some pictures of us relaxing, they offered tons of tips for places to visit. When the masseuses were ready they took us back into the rooms and we each had a 50 minute full body massage. It was so relaxing and amazing. This experience was one that made our honeymoon so memorable. When we return to Hawaii we will defiantly be back!

The best experience I’ve ever had! Kara is the best at what she does. First when I got there, she welcomed me in her home with open arms. Sat me down and asked me before we started what area of my body I would like her to work on today. I explained to her how painful my entire back was and other areas that were being affected by my back pain. (my legs and neck). Then she told me what she’ll try to do to ease the pain. She told me the position she wanted me to start in which was to lay on my right side so she can work out the knots on that particular area (my left lower back and shoulder) that hurt the most and to avoid making my pain less easy as she massaged my back.
She then brought me into the room, by the way it was very clean and calming to be in. Then got started massaging my back. She worked out the most painful parts and continuously asked me how my back was feeling. Usually at other massage parlors I’ve been to, they only work the area you want for a few minutes and then proceed to do other areas that you don’t want to focus on. But Karen made sure she worked on everything I wanted, my back, legs, shoulders, and neck. Oh and I forgot to mention I got a foot scrub too. That was apart of her special this month.
She is very lovely and amazing at what she does. My back in no longer as painful as it was before. And at the end she added some tips that can help my back pain get better. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much Kara! Definitely will be going back often.

Kara is awesome! Due to my type of work, I was in the beginning stages of suffering from Carpal Tunnel and Kara massaged all the knots and pain from my left arm She even recommended wrist support to prevent the Carpal Tunnel from advancing and it really worked. I’ve been seeing Kara for 3 months now and my pain is totally gone. Thanks Kara for healing me, you truly are a blessing! Hawn G

I found Cara on Unilocal,was so glad that she’s located so close to my home! Certain times of the year, Cara runs various Special’s that benefit two shelters (canned goods, back to school, Christmas, etc), she offers you a special rate if you donate items to her current drive. It’s a win win for all!
Now onto the massage. Cara sits down with you to find out the general problem areas you’d like her to focus on, if you’re a return client; she has your previous info, select one of her many oils (lavender is my favorite), when you’re done; she gives you a cup of water and goes over her findings & recommendations for future care, all of this is not a part of your massage time!!! Cara’s massages are so awesome, she knows the right amount of pressure to use, her massage room is very clean with a tranquil setting!
Cara’s schedule is open to her clients needs. However, she is located in a residential area, once I took a 600pm appointment, it was hard to find street parking and the owner’s of the house I parked by seemed very territorial with the open space in front of their house! So now I book accordingly!

I looked up Kara at A Time To Heal on Unilocal for a certified prenatal massusse and also something close to home. I was lucky to have found her. She is literally right down the street from me.
Kara does her massages in her home. It wasn’t weird in any way to me at all. She has a room dedicated to massage with a professional massage table, relaxing music, and cold and hot towels/​stones. She lets you choose between three different oils: lavender, eucalyptus and orange.
She had prepped all the comfy pillows that are needed for a prenatal massage, and did her magic for 75 minutes. The massage was amazing and relaxing. Kara knew the right amount of pressure, and which side to lay down that would benefit the baby’s breathing.
Kara has a nice, mellow personality that puts you at ease. Once leaving I felt my muscles were much looser, and my neck and back were feeling much better. Three days later, my neck still feels a lot better, considering I have 3 herniated discs in my neck.
The price is very fair, and I’d definitely make these massages part of my monthly ritual.

i was looking for a massage therapist after tweaking my neck/​shoulder at the gym. it was going on 2 weeks and was not going away… i found kara on Unilocal and decided to give her a shot
she was very good at educating me about the muscles she was about to work and really wanted to address my problem areas
75 min later she was able to work her magic and my neck pain is virtually non existent
highly recommended… i will definitely go back to see her next time i have any issues

ok, so I’ve been going to kara for almost 2 years now. I never thought i would have a regular masseuse but after experiencing Kara I cant imagine going to anyone else. It’s funny because I won a $ 260 spa package on mothers day from another business but have yet to use it. I schedule regular monthly 2hour massages with kara because of my bad back and aging body parts, LOL! The 2 hours always seem to go by too quickly, thats how good it feels. To be honest, I really dont like writing these reviews because i know it will just make it harder for me to get my massage appt’s because of the flooding of new clients she will get, but I love her and owe it to her to give her recognition for what she does. She’s very good at what she does and she always thinks of more ways that she can help and contribute to the community.

Kara is FABULOUS! I was on vacation and needed a good massage to stay feeling good and stress-​free. I started looking for therapists both on Unilocal and other referrals. The reviews on Unilocal were so good, I decided to give Kara a call.
She was able to see me on pretty short notice, was very open to hearing about what areas were giving me problems and how my normal therapists address them, sharing her own thoughts on what might work well.
Her prices are very reasonable (she was running a special if you donated to the Hawaii Meth Project when I was there) and she has a great touch. I loved the aromatherapy and the setting. Kara is very professional and I loved the different modalities of therapy she provides.
I wish Kara all the best and will be back to see her — I’ll even schedule an appointment when I book my plane reservations next time! Great massage therapist!

I found Kara via Unilocal.I been looking for a reputable massage therapist that has experience with prenatal massage considering #1 I’m 37 weeks pregnant and #2 my standards being a massage therapist myself.
After reviewing her website I was instantly drawn in because of her extensive work being in the medical field and her giving the gift of massage to previous and current cancer patients, which was really dear to my heart being a caregiver for my aunty while she battled and lost her fight to stage 3 breast cancer, I picked up the phone and called.
I got to her home a quarter to 9:00 knowing on a Saturday morning knowing I would have to fill some papers out, basic «where do you hurt?» and medical history stuff. She had aromatherapy oils out so that I could choose which ones I would like during the massage. Her calmness and sincerity is wonderful and I instantly felt comfortable.
Keep in mind the massage is 75 minutes long and does not start until she starts massaging you, not when you get there. All for $ 55!!! BONUS BONUS BONUS!
She led me to her massage room and put some eucalyptus oil on the sheets, I get stuffy during a massage, and it smelt nice and it wasn’t too much. She left the room and got ready. She informed me to lay on my right side which would allow the best amount of oxygen to my body and the baby (which I knew) and was glad she reminded me of that. When she came back into the room she put a cold compress on my ankles so they wouldn’t get swollen. During the massage she used hot stones, and all the massage modalities you can think of. I was so impressed and happy with my experience, I probably won’t go to any one else even post birth. My massage went over 75 min, yes I was watching the time, because she wanted to make sure she worked all my problem area’s.
I absolutely love her and would be devastated if she ever left the island…

kara is the best!!! she always asks you what you want worked on the most AND she does scrubs as
skin and muscles feel so good. She works out of her beautiful home in kapolei and the atmosphere is so relaxing. she works with hot/​cold stones and uses oils, scrubs and warm or cold towels. check her out. your body will thank you… ask her about her promos… an hour with her felt like heaven… thanks kara!!!

It’s a blessing to have a wonderful, professional massage therapist practicing on the west side. Kara uses only high-​quality products and her technique is relaxing as well as healing. She takes the time to question and consult you, then she thoroughly explains her planned treatment for you. She also exceeded my expectations as her session provided an extremely calm, soothing therapeutic massage experience. After the session, my muscles felt very warm and loose and my skin looked really healthy and moisturized because of the excellent products she uses. It’s like getting a high-​end spa treatment w/​o other clients around. From beginning to end all of her focus is on you and that makes the experience really special.

Kara is a wonderful person and a great massage therapist. I’ve been seeing Kara for over 3 years on a monthly basis and have never been disappointed. I’ve referred my family to her and when they visit the island they ask me to schedule time with her during their stay here. Great quality in all aspects and I love the fact that she contributes to the community. She conducts different charity drives throughout the year and always provide perks for clients who participates in her drives. She’s currently preparing for an educational toy drive till mid December. Please call her to make an appointment and bring in an unwrapped educational toy.
