Touch Kauai

Sometimes you make a leap of faith in booking treatments from afar. Unilocal helps but there are sometimes feelings you get that lead you to a choice and you hope it will work out. I hoped to book a couple’s massage in the Atrium. I booked via email (my preference) which perhaps took a bit more effort but ended so well! The Atrium was not available for the date requested so we opted for two back to back Lomi-​Lomi massages in our Hotel room. Katharina coordinated all and Koi (sp?) was an amazingly intuitive and talented practitioner. The treatments were terrific and totally worth any and all effort! I would definitely book again!

In all the many visits I have made to Hawaii over the past 30 years, I have never been touched by the spirit of Hawaii as I am in the presence of Katharina. She has in incredible respect for the Hawaiian traditions and her knowledge and understanding of the Aloha spirit touches my heart and soul. From the moment I enter her atrium, I feel connected to the magic of the island of Kauai. There are many gifted healers on Kauai, but Katharina’s healing touch and tender spirit are not to be missed. I go there a few times a year and always begin my time on the island with her magical massage.

Das nenne ich Aloha! Wir haben hier unsere Hawaiianische Lomi Lomi Massage gebucht (da diese Firma auch deutsch spricht). Es war fantastisch. Wir haben eine Partner Massage gebucht und danach noch eine Wanderung mit Katharina. Ich kann euch nicht sagen wie toll das war mit unseren ansässigen deutschen Reiseführerin und Massage Therapeutin, Hula Tänzerin uvm) in einem die Insel zu entdecken und so viel mehr über Kauai zu erfahren wie wir es so nicht erfahren hätten. My husband and I went their for couple’s massages and were so pleased with the massages and Katharina, that we felt almost drawn to return just two days later. However, instead of couple’s massages, we opted to spend the whole day with her. We spoke at length with Katharina so she could get a feel for what we wanted and expected from our day and this is what happened:
We arrived in the morning and were each given a fresh lei and a small gift (don’t want to tell you what it was and spoil the surprise). We then went over our expectations for the day and then she led us in a yoga session. We’ve done yoga before (at our gym) but this was much better as she was really intent on teaching us how to properly breathe and open up our chests for certain moves. While we were rolling up the yoga mats she left to make us freshly juiced pineapple juice — –yum! We strolled along the outside patio, looking at the beautiful trees and flowers, while we leisurely drank our juice.
Next, we got into her vehicle and she drove us to a nearby rainforest where she led us on a jungle hike. As this day was all about us, we were free to hike at our own pace, see what we wanted to see, stop and take pics whenever we chose, and we got to decide when to stop for a swim and eat lunch (which she provided, along with water). We had a wonderful chat while we ate lunch. She is intuitive and very easy to talk to.
Afterward we returned to her studio, took a shower and got ready for our final treat of the day. I received a crystal healing session and then my husband received a massage from her.
Finally, she had some more words of wisdom for us and presented us each with a final gift (again, I won’t spoil it and tell you what it is).
I don’t know when/​if we will be returning to Kauai, but if we do, there is no doubt that we will make sure to visit Katharina again. Even before our first massages, my husband stated that he would have been happy just sitting in her studio and staring out of her atrium as it was the most peaceful room he had ever been in.

I spend considerable time on Kauai and have enjoyed many high-​quality massages from Touch Kauai. Instead of a generic massage that I can have anywhere, I appreciate the connection to Hawaiian culture embodied in the Lomi Lomi method, along with other modalities that are integrated into the experience. All of my massages were from Katharina, who works with skill, sensitivity, and Aloha.
