My family & I came for brunch on my birthday and it was everything I hoped it would be. I ordered the French toast and my family members ordered the eggs benedict. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and bloody mary’s. Our sever was friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back to try the pancakes!

The old ravioli recipe is back (I think!) In any case, it is delicious and heavenly. Also, our waitress was super nice.

This place is wonderful, we were a party of 8 for brunch we were able to make open table res they got us seated right away. It’s a small diamond that sparkles bright, from the friendly workers to wonderful food and free drink with brunch. Chicken and French toast wow

Stopped in for a early Saturday happy hour and it did not disappoint. The curry mussels are a must try, they are so good and come with a side of bread to soak up the juice. The pomme frites were ok, way too much salt for my taste. The mussels will have me coming back again and again. Prices great & server nice & attentive.

We were invited by friends last Sunday for brunch. What a delightful treat. Food and service was outstanding. The Bloody Mary was perfect. We can’t wait to return! We highly recommend this restaurant.

Bloody Mary’s were not a hit which is always disappointing for brunch… but the food made up for it! The pea ravioli’s are out of this world –wouldn’t normally be something I would order but it was recommended and our table was so glad we tried it! Oysters are good. This is right on the edge of 3 and 4 stars.

Woohoo my first review of 2016!
Came here for a late dinner with friends who’d recently moved back to town. We arrived around 7pm and were seated promptly. However, the rest of the evening moved a lot slower — it took quite a while before our drink and food orders were taken. Granted, we didn’t have too much to complain about since we were taking the time to catch up; so slow service wasn’t a mark against this place.
We first ordered our drinks — Miracle on 43^rd for me, Tank 7 for my boyfriend, Moustachio’d for my friends husband, and something virgin and fruity for my friend. Let me just say, the drinks were fantastic! I’d definitely be back just for drinks and hours d’oeuvres. About 10 minutes after we ordered our drinks were finally were able to order our appetizers and entrees. We shared what turned out to be an a tiny cheese plate — 5 amazing different cheeses but significantly smaller than any cheese plate that I’d previously ordered from other restaurants. Dinner was comprised of seared scallops, salmon and braised short ribs. The food was delicious — in fact, I particularly enjoyed the black truffle risotto that came with the scallops.
We followed dinner with dessert and coffee — Espresso pot de crème and rum soaked cake. Our biggest disappointment was that their espresso machine was out of commission so we couldn’t order specialized coffee/​espresso drinks. Of course, their coffee was fantastic and served in some pretty massive mugs. Let’s just say by the time we finished dinner and got home we were wide awake!
Will definitely be back to try their brunch menu — although probably not for a while since with the new year comes new healthy habits to pursue!

Went here for brunch and the food was very good. Each brunch entrée comes with a complimentary drink (including a Bloody Mary or mimosa). I had the crepes Madame and my friend had the eggs Norwegian and both were equally great! The happy hour menu looked really good and very reasonable prices!

I really wanted to try their brunch menu but they only offer it on the weekends so, I had to find a weekend where I could get there and today was it. The place is not well marked and if you didn’t know what you were looking for, you might not find it. There is a sign there but it’s small and very easy to miss. I ordered the fried chicken and french toast. It comes with a leg, boneless breast, and 1 slice of french toast. I thought the dish was really well put together but, I do wish they would offer the chicken completely boneless. It’s somewhat of a pain to eat part of your chicken with your hands and then the other part with your silverware (mega-​greasy hands). The leg of the fried chicken was well cooked to the point of being overcooked. The breast was perfect. I did enjoy having the fried chicken with the french toast but, I just wished they would have given me 2 slices of french toast, not just one. It’s still a really solid dish all around. I was also able to try the lemon pancakes and they were really good as well. They come as a stack of 3 but are pretty small. Again, I wished they would have either made them a bit bigger or threw on another pancake. The pancakes are light and fluffy, and had great lemon flavor. It’s a place I will definitely be back to.

I have yet to go for lunch or dinner, but their brunch is amazing. Highly recommend, also get a side of scones! Great service and food. I will definitely be back.

In town from STL. I have to say… GET THE FRENCH TOAST! Holy moly! Best I’ve ever had. Wow. I’m glad my bf order it! so good!
So I ordered the biscuits and gravy… And they meh. Maybe because my biscuits were burnt. But it comes with bacon or sausage and hash browns. I would give it a 4 star because mine was burnt and not very good however the French toast makes up for. PLUS you get a free Bellini, mimosa, Bloody Mary, coffee or soda with any brunch order.
We came at like 11 and by 11:15 there was a line at the door. Place is small but atmosphere is cool.

Went for breakfast on a weekday. Left happy, full, and smiling.
The portions here are classic midwestern size enormities, and not in a bad way. My dining partner and I are prone to ordering a third entrée to split/​sample, and I’m glad we exercised some restraint on this particular day. I had the B&G, the B being a large, square ciabatta roll split in half and respectfully cloaked in gravy. Two perfectly done OE eggs hung out nearby. I think my dining partner ordered something along the lines of French Toast, but I could be wrong. I was so fixated on this mammoth plate of goodness that one would have been foolish to expect any type of attention from me.
I ate until I noticed the buttons on my «dad shirt» were working a little harder than they should. I walked away with half of my breakfast in a box, to be enjoyed a little later at the hotel… after the belly swelling subsided a tad.
I highly recommend this quaint spot. It’s a hidden gem, and if you are reading this while standing in line for breakfast/​brunch at another Westport spot, cancel your table and walk down a block. You won’t regret it!

We stopped here for a drink whilst waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. My husband and I ordered cocktails and tried a king shrimp and some oysters each. The appetizers were ok, nothing special, and quite expensive. The grilled shrimp was sitting on a plate of creamy sauce which was nice but didn’t flavor the shrimp much. I took a big bite of the shrimp and then realized I’d eaten half of its pooper shooter– not pleasant! The oysters were fresh and had a complementary sauce served with them. The service was a little awkward and not very informative. A decent place to meet well dressed friends for a french style meal and drinks.

You have to visit this place for happy hour! They have the best appetizers and drinks.
My wife really enjoys the sweet pea ravioli. I’m a huge fan of the pomme de frites. They also have this cheese platter that is really very good. Honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic!
The prices aren’t that bad either. You really can’t go wrong with stopping by during happy hour on the weekend.
Alternatively, their weekend brunch menu is fantastic! The entrees are very well prepared and different from what you can find at other KC establishments.
The modern French atmosphere is very enjoyable as well. Overall, we love the place.

Great happy hour & cute décor. The mussels were excellent, the steak frites were done well, and the chicken liver was interesting.

Cannot say enough about the brunch here. While Beer Kitchen has a 45min wait, we walked right into Westport Café and were seated. One of the most under rated brunches in KC.
The brunch comes with a mimosa, bloody, or coffee… amazing, and about what you’d expect from a free drink.
The starters… The apple turnovers are so delightful, they can be a breakfast pastry or dessert.
Next, the entrees. I had the Croque-​Madame and my boyfriend had the chicken and french toast. We both died a little when the plates were empty. If it had been socially acceptable, the plates would have been licked clean before the very attentive wait staff removed them.
Overall, we continue to rave about this brunch even after experiencing many other places in the city.
Highly recommend.

We came here for dinner around 8 on a cold Monday night, and the restaurant wasn’t busy so we were seated right away. We warmed up with some curried carrot soup, which was alright. The aroma of the soup reminds me of Indian curry, so I took a sip expecting it to have Indian curry flavors, but the soup was actually fairly bland.
For entrees, we had mussels with sweet corn, seared tuna nicoise, and seared tuna sandwich. The mussels were fantastic; the sauce was creamy and flavorful and the mussels were cooked just right, making them very tender. The seared tuna nicoise was a little disappointing, since it was pretty bland if not for the very salty olives. I think it would have benefited from a dressing. The seared tuna sandwich was even less impressive. The tuna was either really lightly seasoned or not at all, and I did not like that it was a bunch of small pieces of tuna that just fell out every time I pick up the sandwich. I was expecting one large piece of seared tuna. There was a LOT of spinach on my sandwich, so much so that I felt like I was eating a spinach sandwich.
I’m not sure if I’d come back for dinner here but the brunch pictures look very interesting, so I will probably be back for that.

I have no excuses for not frequenting Westport Café & Bar. In fact, I’ve only been there one time for brunch but that warrants a review, with hopefully many updates to follow.
The whole vibe of this place is just on. It’s urban, tucked into a restaurant row in Westport, and has a clean, cool look to it. It was packed the day that we went but we were able to snag one of the few remaining tables.
I had the omelette with herbs and pomme frites, and a black coffee that comes along with it. All of it was top notch stuff.
I need to come back when it’s dinner time to get a full review in, but I can safely say that this is a restaurant that fits very well with Westport and is top of the line.

It’s been way too long since I’ve visited WC&B, and during today’s brunch visit I was shocked to learn that somehow I’d neglected to review this fantastic little restaurant. Let’s remedy that right now.
Over the course of its life, I’ve probably been to WC&B 6 – 7 times. From the food to the drinks to the service to the atmosphere, all of the elements of every single visit have been on point.
The atmosphere is casual but sophisticated and sexy. It feels much older than its years, not at all worn, but definitely lived in. It has a sense of history, which is difficult for a relatively new restaurant to pull off. Towards the back there are some larger tables, but get one of the little 2-​seaters in the window and I would argue that you’re in the best spot for a date in all of Westport.
While everything I’ve ever eaten here has been high quality, it’s been long enough since any of my other meals that for this review I can only focus on brunch:
The brunch items typically range in price from $ 10 to $ 15 dollars. While there were a ton of decadent sounding options (I definitely gave sexy eyes to their lemon ricotta pancakes and the brioche French toast), I opted for the slightly more savory Eggs Norwegian, english muffins topped with smoked salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise. Simply fantastic. The hollandaise wasn’t as rich as other varieties I’ve sampled, but I also felt a lot better when I finished my plate. It came with a bonus surprise side of hashbrowns, which were pretty tasty as well. Everything here seems to be subtle. They’re not assaulting your palate, but they’re definitely making it happy.
Each meal is served with a complimentary cocktail. They had bloody marys and mimosas, but I opted for the less readily available bellini. Served in a champagne saucer, it had a sort of (pleasantly) grainy texture from the peach purée, was definitely a heavier pour of sparkling wine than what you typically find in town. Again, Perfectly balanced so as to not be too sweet.
While I strangely don’t visit WC&B very often at all, every single visit ends up being near perfection. I’m not sure why it’s so off my radar, but every time I DO visit, I have an amazing time and vow to dine here more regularly. Hopefully after today’s brunch I can remember to keep that promise.

Simply stunning! The extravaganza of this place has just landed it on the top of my favorite breakfast places.
A couple of my Unilocal elites came to eat brunch with me, after we found out about their free mimosas with the purchase of a brunch entrée.
I gave up fried chicken for lent, but seeing how it was a Sunday (Sundays, I found out recently don’t add into the whole 40 days… haha loop hole), I just had to get their Fried Chicken entrée. I hate to admit it, but I may be the most annoying person to servers. LOL. This entrée originally comes with french toast, but they let me switch it with hash browns instead. hehe luckily our server didn’t mind.
Biting into the crisp deliciousness… ugh can’t even continue to write without drooling and longing to eat more of it… man that chicken was delicious. The seasoning they used was probably laced with some addictive substance, because I’M HOOKED! Oh and who ever fried the chicken must have been trained in the art of Fried Cuisine haha… Anyway the crispy skin was cooked to perfection without sacrificing the juicy meat inside, plus it came with both breast and a leg. Hash browns were great with the gravy… oh my that gravy was so savory. Paired with the free mimosa (haha they definitely did not dilute the alcohol), made a perfect brunch with friends.
My partner in crime got the eggs Benedict with salmon and dare I say it… was the BEST POACHED eggs I’ve ever tasted. My BFF got the biscuits and sausage gravy and that was good too. umm… couldn’t resist getting fries too… and I LOVE how our fried entrees were not greasy like every other breakfast place.
All our dishes averaged about $ 11 – 13, which was a pretty good deal since they give you so much food, without lessening the the taste or quality.
