Let me first say that I am a Ulta advocate… I only shop at Ulta and have been one of their VIP members for years. However, this store is just a nightmare. I went in only looking for mascara on Sunday. As I browsed around the Urban Decay counter, I noticed there were a ton of things out of stock. I got approached by an associate that asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she went to the back, for what I thought was to check if they had more. I waited about 15 minutes and browsed around then the associate doing makeup told me that they have a shipment come in on Monday, but they are usually out by Wednesday. My first thought was, wouldn’t you get more stock in inventory if that was the cause constantly? Then, I noticed that instead of coming back to me, she went up to the register and started ringing people out, not a word from her. So, after waiting in the store, I left with nothing. This is why I shop online…

I needed a new curling iron and decided to check out Ulta while I had time to kill before a movie. I haven’t bought a curling iron in 10+ years so it took me awhile to look at them all. The assistant manager(I think her name was Brittney) came by to help me out. She was there at checkout as well and was so friendly, and told me to bring it back if I didn’t like it(my new iron works great!) I definitely got the feeling that she is focused on customer satisfaction! The prices are higher than buying online, but I needed it that day.

Great store! Very happy that they carry the entire NYX line! Everything from low to high brands and everything in between. They are always quick to greet customers and knowledgeable on their products. I am a rewards member which always comes in handy when you’re looking to save a few bucks with your racked up points, free of charge!

They are fine for getting products. Ulta carries both drug store quality and some high end stuff, but not as much as Sephora. But whatever you do, do NOT get your nails done here. I did it because I had to return something anyway and thought I would save some time. Big mistake. They use OPI gel which is great but the girl who did my nails did a terrible job and I had one chipping the next day after I got them, and 2 more not even a week after they were done. She also took forever. most nails take about an hour and she took almost 2. I wanted to get my hair done as well but after she took that long I just left. She filed down my nails so much they are thin and bend easily and 2 of my nails I had to tell her to stop because I could feel her almost going through my nail! Save your time and money and just go to a real nail salon.

This location does not have friendly employees who are eager to help customers. I’ve been into this store many times, and I’ve never once been greeted at the door, even when employees were standing right near the door talking to one another. Nor has anyone ever asked me if I need help while shopping. If I want a recommendation or help locating a particular brand, I have to track down someone in the store, and even then, the sales associates give me the impression that they have better things to be doing. Other than that, this store has an excellent selection of all of the products I use on a daily basis, from drugstore favorites to higher end things I can’t find at my local CVS. The rewards system Ulta uses is pretty neat, but I don’t go out of my way to purchase things there because of the sales associates. Perhaps I’ll try to find another location. The overall idea for the store is excellent! It’s a one-stop shop!

Went to Ulta to purchase Urban Decay lip liner, discovered there was a promotion for free eye liner AND eye shadow primer with purchase of $ 40. Confirmed promotion with sales person on floor, who was very helpful and eager to answer a few questions I asked. While paying at counter confirmed promo with gal checking me out, said yes promo was in my bag. Rang me up, swiped my card. As I was walking away looked in my bag to see ONLY primer, asked gal behind counter about the liner, she said«ya, we’re out of that one». That info would have been nice to know prior to purchasing… as promo was ONLY reason I purchased the additional $ 25 product. Guess I’ll be able to use the primer for the«wool pulled over my eyes» by the check out gal!

I came to ulta to use a $ 25 shampoo and cut coupon I got in their ad.(New client special). They are actually open on Sundays, which is rare with salons! I called Sunday afternoon and they said they were booked, but the took my name and number in case they got a cancelation. They called back shortly and I got in! Yay! So I went there a bit early, but I think I was the last appt of the day(my appt was at 4). I can’t remember my stylists name, but I will go back to find her. She was awesome(Andrea maybe?) anyway, I got bangs for the first time in my life and expressed my troubles in creating beach waves. I love the way she cut my hair. She actually listened to me and made sure I was getting what I wanted. Afterwards, she said if I had time she’d do the beach waves in my hair and show me how for free! Ummm yes!!! It looked awesome.(See one of my profile pics with curls and bangs for the cut I got). I will definitely return. Oh and as for the store, I love it there! It’s a girls makeup heaven. Even better than sephora and has more reasonable prices. I love their free gifts with purchases. There are also always coupons!

I normally have good experiences here. But today I visited this location and couldn’t get help. I was greeted very friendly but then ignored.

I am thrilled that more and more ultas are opening up around the city. An ulta in ward parkway means I don’t have to drive to lees summit to get my make up fix. All ultas are the same and you always know what to expect. Join their rewards program for excellent discounts. Thanks ward parkway for opening this one.

I was always a huge Sephora fan. For years. I loved Sephora. Everything Sephora! Then I moved to KC, and discovered the wonderful Ulta. The nice thing about Ulta is they offer a lot of the same brands that Sephora does plus popular drug store brands. They also ALWAYS have coupons. It is very, very rare that I spend money at Ulta without a coupon. Sephora rarely has sales and they definitely do not distribute coupons. Plus the Ulta rewards program is WAY better than Sephora. Sephora offers free deluxe samples with so many reward points. Ulta offers money off or salon services! Much better in my opinion. I hit platinum status quickly this year at Ulta! Plus Christmas sales are always awesome. My boyfriend is intimidated by beauty stores, but I typically want beauty products for Christmas. He took me to Ulta last week, and we ended up getting $ 230.00 worth of products for $ 130.00!!! Perfume and name brand foundation etc. If you do go to Ulta get those coupons before you even walk in the door!

I visited The Salon @ Ulta recently and had a great experience! Ashlee did a high-low light and trim for me. She is a color specialist and it shows! She took the time to consult with me and found a great balance of what I wanted and what she thought would look best on me. I really appreciated that aspect! My hair has never looked better and I will definitely be returning! Thanks Ashlee!!!

I Love Ulta! I discovered Ulta 8 years ago when I use to live in San Diego. I’m so glad Ulta is here. They have everything you need in Cosmetic, Hair and Beauty Supplies. Similar to Sephora but better prices. Join their membership program to receive numerous monthly discounts like 20% off entire purchase. Great location and friendly staff. Hair Salon and Microbrasion services are reasonable and worth a try.
