When you’ve got crafty relatives, dating back to the great-great grandma’s, you obtain many of their wares over the years. When the things that survived the longest seem to be «doilies,» you can only have so many. Living without a formal dining room, I was forced to become creative. One of the passed down gifts we received for our wedding was a 18×60 inch doily style table runner. Had etsy been around in the 1800’s my relatives could have retired. I took my ancient, crazy long craft to Thompson’s and I felt that I had found people that understood what I was trying to do here. We picked a great background and beautiful boarder and frame so I could hang this thing. They were even professional enough to show me the options I had since we didn’t want to stretch it too much due to its age. Since it was a non-standard sized thing they were framing I was expecting the price to be astronomical.(It was just over $ 100.) The staff is great and really works with your budget. My S-I-L gets all of her art for her shows framed here. They also have a pretty cool gallery for the looking and the wishing.
