Voted Best Dance Studio in Kansas City by KMBC-TV’s A-​List Awards! Choosing a studio for your child is an important decision, and parents choose The Pulse for our curriculum, instructors, facility, and customer service. The Pulse is a full-​service dance studio that provides classes for ages 3 – 18 for those students who wish to take class recreationally for fun, for those who wish to pursue professional careers in the arts, as well as for those students interested in competing and performing regionally and nationally. Our regular session runs from September through May with our spectacular annual recital directly following. We also have summer workshops and 6-​week dance classes during the summer months.

History

Established in 2006.

We were extremely honored this year to be named Best Dance Studio in Kansas City by the KMBC-TV’s A-​List Awards. The Pulse is an independent small business formed by a group of industry professionals doing what we love: creating a positive outlet for young students and helping foster their artistic expression. It is incredibly rewarding to experience their successes, growth, and development. We are very lucky to be within such a great community with so many terrific families. The overwhelming majority of our new students come from referrals from satisfied families, and we thank you so much for your support. We look forward to continuing our growing reputation for providing a professional and caring staff, a positive environment, and a truly memorable experience for each of your children!

Business Owner

It has been Curtis’ lifelong dream to own his own studio; a studio where every student is appreciated, a studio with qualified, caring instructors that understand the importance of their position in a child’s life and the importance an arts education provides those students! As one of the owners of The Pulse, he has dedicated himself to developing quality programs for each and every student. A certified Pilates instructor, Curtis integrates those techniques into his classes to help students safely build strength and flexibility to prevent injury. Curtis strives to motivate and inspire each student in his class, building their self-​confidence and creating a love for dance. Curtis currently choreographs for Lee’s Summit and Shawnee Mission high schools, local theatres, special events, and for the Radio Disney street team here in KC.
