The Nibble Nook is a community-​driven baking and pastry learning center for kids, teens and adults. We instruct people in a fun and comfortable setting, so they can build a foundation of patience, precision and ingredient knowledge while expressing their creativity and boosting their self-​confidence. We also offer make-​and-​bake parties that include active participation and a theme cake customized for the honoree.

Chef John B.

Business Owner

With over 30 years of professional experience, Pastry Chef John Boydston has been in the food service industry since he was 13. Growing up in the kitchen gave John a strong sense of direction for his life that led him to pursue an education at the Culinary Institute of America in New York where he received his degree in Culinary Arts.

John quickly achieved success as a pastry chef and eventually rose the ranks to executive pastry chef. John also began teaching baking in higher education, most recently at the Art Institute in Lenexa, KS. In 2012, John received the «Chef of the Year» award from the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association – a prestigious award and rare for a pastry chef.

John’s passion is to see his students find the joy that he’s found and learn the rewarding patience, skill, and satisfaction of baking. His vision is to see baking come back home where family and friends can discover the joys of baking together.
