The Great Meat Ball Elite Event @ Czar

LOVED the Spiked Prom Punch I lost count how many I drank — hence the insane dancing with the Prom King and his wife.
Loved pulling out the retro Madonna Outfit. So much fun. Great Entrance Matt into the KC scene.
Can’t wait for the next Elite Event.
Venus the meatballs were Magical as usual. Super Showing.
Fantastic Music and the Czar bar was the perfect venue.

Oh Matt E. You certainly know how to make the KC Unilocal Elites happy. AND you got them dressed up and dancing, on a Thursday night as well. Nice job.
Even without taking part in the fancy attire & dancing, I still managed to have an outstanding time. From the decorations and props (& sunglasses), complete with music to enhance the theme, to the drinks, and let’s not forget the MEATBALLS.
The food was excellent. I was even able to try more than one option, AND I didn’t even need this delicious sauce everyone was talking about. I also tried the Moscow Mile AND the punch. I had the Asian and the sweet potato balls. They were both addictive.
Everyone was having a great time. It was impossible not to. The mood was great, and Matt found a way to pull some 80s energy out of all of us on a week night. The large forks that made their way into photos with the balls provided plenty of amusement for our group, who spent a lot of the time conversing and people watching.

Alright, here’s the deal: I love 80s music. Love it. So clearly, I had a great time at this Elite Event. Matt, you did a fantastic job!
Since it was cold outside and I was feeling rather uninspired when it came to costumes, I threw on my drinking boots and some blue eyeshadow, but holy teased hair, Batman, some folks went all out! And it was awesome. I loved seeing everyone in their best «bad 80s» getup.
The Magical Meatballs were fantastic — my husband’s favorite, hands down, were the Asian meatballs. The drinks… to die for. I don’t know how many cherry bombs I had, and I don’t care! I want more, more, more. The Bourbon Smash was tasty, as were the Moscow Mules. I didn’t touch the spiked punch (probably smart of me after all the cherry bombs), but no prom is complete without spiked punch, so that was just extra perfection.
As with all Unilocal parties, I got to hang out with old friends and meet some new ones, including the adorable Colt A.
Thanks to Matt for throwing such an awesome «prom» and to Czar for being the perfect hosts!

Enjoyed the Czar and Magical Meatball tour! Thanks for organizing such a fun event Matt. The 80s songs got me on the dance floor to boogie and loved seeing everyone’s outfits. The tasty, original cocktails from Most Wanted were great and the Asian meatballs were delicious.
Really enjoyed the event!

First of all: I loved getting my hair done for this event. I reminded myself of Robin Sparkles from HIMYM.
The White Bitch was an amazing concoction. Nice and sweet, I downed this drink like a glass of milk. 5 minutes later, it slapped me in the face… just like a real bitch, I suppose. It gave me the courage to dance to some awesome 80’s tunes… my favorite being Footloose.
Most Wanted Vodka was adorable and creative just like always. They saved my purse that I lost amongst my drunken dancing.
I loved the giant fork ‘n meatballs props for pictures.
Matt E.: I love you in a «best community manager ever» sort of way. If this is what you throw at us for your first ever party, I can’t wait to see what else is in store!

A great Elite event. Matt, you are setting the bar high for future events. Czar was a great location to get our 80s groove on (while snacking on meat balls and acting like cheese balls). Thanks Matt for putting this together. Thanks also to the DJ for the tunes and to everyone for populating the dance floor. I know the Elites are a talented group and it showed again last night, with some very 80s-​inspired dance moves.
The Magical Meatballs were indeed magic… I loved the Sesame and Cilantro topped Asian-​inspired meatball and the sweet potato veggie ball with the Spanish sauce was amazing as well.
The delicious signature cocktails served up by the Czar staff, especially the Moscow Mules, were just what a girl needed to warm her up to dance. And the Most Wanted’s Cherry Bombs and spiked punch were just what a girl needed to cool off after all the dancing.
I met some new Elites and saw some old friends… all and all an amazing event.

I wear my sunglasses at night… was that played? Well, it should have been…’cause that’s what we were doing.
I sure would have liked to see a Carrie reenactment using meatball sauce… that would have lived on in my memory forever… I might just pretend it happened and tell the story like it did… until I believe it.

Thanks to Most Wanted who are always there supporting Unilocal.Somehow they always keep it fresh… so many tricks up their sleeves. The Cherry Bomb shots were… well…shew! Knock your socks off… the punch was a sweet touch.
Thanks to Magical Mystery Tour for their continued generosity and deliciousness. Ranked: 1 Spicy Asian, 2 Sweet Potato, 3 The other one (normalish flavor). The spicy sauce was pretty delightful too. Yummy.
The Czar was gracious to allow us to romp around and booze it up in their establishment. Their drinks were good and strong (not stingy on the serving size or the liquor)… too strong for my weak self. The Moscow Mule was sippable though. Most importantly… thanks for the water.

Thanks to Matt and everyone who really got into the spirit of dressing up. I do love dress up events. :-)

I’ve always loved the Czar Bar, and what a great venue for a Unilocal Elite event (and Matt E’s first elite event).
The DJ provided great tunes, from the Violent Femmes to the Beastie Boys. Plenty of room to dance (I nearly wanted to slam dance, but didn’t display my urge.)
Magical Meatballs provided the magical food. Oh my goodness they are good. I was surprised to enjoy something with sweet potatoes. The sweet potato balls with the Spanish sauce was out of this world. I could’ve eaten a bunch of those. They were crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside.
Most Wanted provided cherry bomb shots. Eat the tiny cherry, and drink the shot with the cherry in your mouth, with whipped cream on top. I also par-​taked in the spiked punch fountain. The punch was so good, there was barely a taste of the spike. Just what I needed to open up to people… like, loosen up.
I didn’t have a prom type dress, so I mainly went in the same genre as Desperately Seeking Susan, and maybe pulled it off. The king of the event wore a classic Run DMC t-​shirt. The queen wore a prom dress.
It was a so totally rad event.

As usual, another great Elite event. First things first, thanks Matt, thanks Magical Meatball peeps, thanks Most Wanted liquor and thanks to Czar. We appreciated your hospitality.
Secondly, thanks to all the Unilocalers who really got into the spirit of bad 80s Prom. I had to, unfortunately, come straight from work so I did not have the chance to dress up, but I really appreciated those who did. It is possible to vicariously enjoy others’ good spirits :-)
I’ve gone to the Cigar Box many a time but never really ventured into Czar. It’s a great space and our bartenders were great and kept the drinks coming all night.
Meatballs — we had an asian style, classic Italian style, and even the non-​meat-​meatball for the Veg-​peeps.
Throw in some 80s music and some people not afraid to dance, and old virtual friends who get to become new real ones, and you have a recipe for yet another great night out with the Unilocal crew.

It’s been awhile since there has been a Unilocal Elite Event in the Kansas City area. This couldn’t have come at a better time since work has been super busy. I needed a break and this was it! I brought my teammate/​friend with me and it was her first Unilocal Elite Event. She enjoyed the event!
The Magical Meatball Tour was there with 3 different kinds of meatballs. Great food! I can’t remember the names of two of them but the first one was the Dragonball. Everything tasted good and the two difference sauces were tasty. The spicy one wasn’t spicy to me but that’s because not a lot was put on. The drinks were good and there was a shot with a cherry that was soaked in alcohol. I totally can’t remember the name but it was pretty good.
Then there was the 80’s music. The DJ knew what song to play to get everybody dancing on the dance floor. Awesome DJ!

What a Ball-​er event! (har, har…)
Definitely a different feel from other Unilocal events I’ve been to but I appreciated how low-​key it was. Czar Bar has that chill divey feel without feeling gross (sticky floors, sweaty bar stools… you guys know what I’m talking about!). LOVED the humongous fork and meatball props, what a brilliant idea!
The Magical Meatball Tour’s meatballs were tasty, and I appreciate quality of meat used… a lot of times with meatballs you can end up with nasty chewy bits of fat/gristle/I-don’t-want-to-think-about-what-else. The original Italian was especially good, and moist and chewy all around.
But, I’m not going to lie, the drinks were the most memorable part of the night. Czar Bar’s white bitch was like my favorite white russian, classed up with orange bitters and what tasted like 5x the alcohol content… can you go wrong?! The Most Wanted cherry shots were fantastically fun as well — and apparently had an addictive quality, I keep thinking about them…
