History

Established in 1964.

An underground storage company is formed to lease the underground space created through mining activity. Pillsbury and Russell Stover become the company’s first tenants.

SubTropolis now spans 1,150-acres and offers nearly 5,000,000 square feet of leasable space. 50 local, national and international businesses are located in SubTropolis and more than 1,500 employees work in this underground city each day.
