Steak & Shake

One of the best steak N shakes I’ve been to. Really wished there was one in Des Moines Iowa… Awesome fries & shakes!

We were out one day after Thanksgiving, and this place was open. We decided to do burger and fries, but this was a bad decision. The burgers had a sour taste. Not sure why, but my friend figures it’s the amount of non-​meat product (maybe soy) that is being added. Don’t know why the difference in taste, but this is the second location where that sour taste has appeared in the burgers.
Service was OK. Typical teenagers behaving like teenagers. Lots of chit-​chat going on. Oh well.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Steak and Shake… But choose another one, any other Steak and Shake than this one.
The service was PAINFULLY SLOW. Seriously. It took them 10 minutes to even acknowledge that we were here, all the while other patrons were being served. The food took over 20 minutes to arrive (this is «fast food»?)
Did i mention how filthy dirty this location was? The ketchup bottle was sticky, and there was trash on the floor (both food and paper).
The food was fine.
Go somewhere else!!!

Good for fast food, better than most actually. Slow service since they cook it fresh.

I have been to this location many times. The food has always been good and the staff very friendly… until last night. My family and I were there, the food was just ok and the staff were nice as usual EXCEPT FOR THE MANAGER. We had the misfortune of witnessing him being very rude to a customer. The customer came in and asked if they had cameras on the parking lot because someone had put a huge dent in the rear corner panel of their car. The manager was very abrupt giving the man one word answers and acting as if he really didn’t have time to deal with the matter. The man remained calm and very well mannered throughout the whole ordeal. I personally would have been very angry at the manager. So, for that reason, I gave them 1 star. What the heck is happening to customer service!!!

If you liked Winsteads, you will love Steak and Shake. They used to only take cash, but these days you can use your plastic. The burgers are really good, with real meat and cheese. Me, I just like tomato, mayonnaise and mustard on mine, but you always get what you want. The fries are shoestrings and best eaten right at the restaurant, because they get cold fast. The shakes and malts are just about perfect and the wait staff is generally friendly and speedy.
