So happy I checked out this place when shopping around for a custom cut area rug for a new nursery. Great prices, friendly staff, and local to my neighborhood.

Good prices, good service, good selection. What more would you want from a carpet company.

I’m not sure what all the rave is about, but we were just there and the selection was very poor as well as the«help». The man working was very arrogant and couldn’t have cared less about my getting business. This place doesn’t even deserve one star, in my experience.

Simply put, these guys rock! Our installer goofed on a measurement. They caught it before it was too late. They are extremely customer focused. Everyone there is awesome but we love Barry. It’s worth the drive and you’re supporting a locally owned business.

This is my go to place for rugs, at least ones that are more neutral colors. They have affordable decorative rugs as well, but I’m picky about design and colors so I usually stick with the solid rugs. I just bought a super soft 6×9 area rug for my living room and it even had soft backing so there was no need to a non-skid rug pad since furniture is on it. Got that for $ 45! You would pay $ 75 for a 5×7 in most places. I have bought 5 different rugs from here and they are all great, good quality, so soft I could sleep on it. They do have more industrial flooring if you prefer something not so plush. They also do a custom made rug which is great if you are covering a big area, but that is more expensive that just getting the pre made rugs they have in stock. You can choose any of the giant rolls you like, tell them the dimensions and they will send it off to be bound for a little less than $ 2 per foot of binding added to the price of the carpeting. If you want floor to floor carpeting they also have tons of names of installers you can hire. Just buy your own stuff and have someone come by to put it in. If you don’t mind a more ware house feel instead of a fancy showroom, this is the place for you! Their non skid rug pads are the best price around as well. I bought one at Wal-Mart for a 5×7 for almost $ 30 and got the same one there for around $ 15. They are also super helpful and will load the rugs of for you. Go here first before trying any other place and you will not be disappointed.

Southside has been a mainstay in Waldo forever. It’s right by two other Wornall landmarks: Dave Smith the Lampmaker & Waldo Pizza. And there’s good reason this small business has been going strong for 30ish years. .. you just can’t beat the prices for carpet/linoleum/area rugs anywhere else in the city. Tom, the owner, is a good-natured, funny, good ol’ boy. He’s honest & upfront, & has always given me a great deal on quality carpet without ever trying to up-sell me. The place is not fancy – not even air-conditioned – but they own the rolls of carpet & have them in the building; in essence, you’re choosing carpet straight from a roll instead of a small sample that will then need to be ordered/cut/shipped, thus, Southside’s prices are much lower than others(NFM, Lowes, etc.) because they’ve cut out the middle man. Your carpet is cut from the roll right there & ready to be installed. Southside employs no installers, but Tom has recommended numerous self-employed installers who’ve done good work for me. I’ve bought carpet here numerous times over the years(I own rental properties) & done entire houses – never been disappointed once! Can’t beat the price(& the chance to support local business)!

When looking for an affordable rug, I can think of no better place than Southside Carpet in Waldo for its low prices and good quality. This store is a fantastic place to browse with rolls of carpets within easy reach for customers to test the color and feel of the fibers. For those wanting an area rug, a rug can be cut to specifications and bound on request. Some of the choices are pre-cut to standard area rug dimensions(4×6, 5×8, 9×12, 10×14, etc.) and bound, ready to be taken home. Mats and padding are also available for purchase; specify padding to prevent slipping or to protect hardwood floors. There is a great selection of options at Southside Carpet, and this is a great alternative to spending an arm and a leg for floor covering.

This place was a suggestion from my builder. I was looking for cheap carpet for a finished space in the basement and to replace the carpet on the basement stairs. I found both at an incredible price. What I didn’t expect is to also find a selection of high quality wool carpet that can be made into a finished area rug. The wool has to be ordered, but there are smaller area rugs like fun shags available for take away. Westside is perfect for a single bedroom or a small space. They let me keep the carpet at their place until my room was ready.
