Not a fan. May give it another try but maybe not. Nothing to brag about. Service wasn’t the best on a Friday evening after work. Oh well, there’s plenty other places to go in KC. And for that, I give this 2 stars.

Old school lounge bar. I guess some people would call it a dive bar but I’d like to think that back in the day, men from the business district in the 70s came and sat in the curved, low, leather chairs and had a beer(or a brandy) and smoked a cigar as they watched a game on the TV. That’s a lounge bar to me. And I ordered a Tank 7(in a bottle… no taps here) for a decent price and sat in the curved, low, leather chairs and watched a Royals game on a very large flat screen TV. Well, it was the Royals or the Women’s World Cup because there was a man sitting nearby with the remote in his hand and he was flipping back and forth. I asked him if he worked there and he said«nope» and then struck up a conversation with my friend. it’s that kind of place. I have a feeling everybody there knew everybody else and they’d been going to that bar since the 70s. I’m a fan.

Great food and cheap drinks. Friendly bartender/waitstaff and old school interior. The drinks are strong and cheap!

I never knew this place existed until last night. Fun, old school dive bar in the best sense of the word. Friendly bartender and waitress provided great service. Good jukebox with a diverse selection. Chatty regulars. Fun!

Ahh the Red Front I never seem to miss you yet I come back every once and a while, it’s like an abusive relationship. Recent visits have been spurred by friends asking me to meet them there, I live in Columbus Park so it makes sense if I am going to go out to go there. The only problem is this place seems to care less and less about providing any level of service. The beer isn’t always cold though the drinks are reasonably strong. The décor needs to be changed, it feels like I am on the set of Robocop and everything tends to feel a little sticky. The bartenders are all off in there own little worlds, I’d give it one star if the people watching wasn’t so good.

This is a great bar if you’re looking for someplace quiet with a laid back old school feel. Drink prices, while not the cheapest in town, are appropriate for the style and feel of this cozy bar. The outdoor seating is great when the weather is right, but the bar itself is where I usually like to stay. Some have called Red Front a dive bar, but I wouldn’t call it that. To me, like Amanda S. and Emily S., it’s more lounge than dive. Either way, it’s a great place to meet friends, have a drink and relax.

This is your classic dive bar, with cheap drinks and dingy interior. The waitresses were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I enjoyed my visit and enjoyed the bill at the end of the evening even more. Be prepared for a hole in the wall, and if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll have a great time.

I really dig this place. The jukebox has an interesting mix of 80’s hair metal, hip hop, country and classic rock with some Sinatra and Tom Jones thrown in. Whether you’re there to watch a ball game or just to drink it’s definitely a good place to do both. The beer prices are reasonable but the Jameson is a little on the higher end. I agree with Emily. It does have the feel of an old school lounge with the leather overstuffed chairs and dark corners. It reminds me of the Peppermill in Vegas but without the awesome firepit and slinky cocktail waitresses. So… maybe this is KC’s Peppermill? All I can say is I have enjoyed going there, have met interesting people and look forward to going back.

I love this place. A friend of my sings here occasionally, which is why we first went there. I don’t think they have any food, but the drinks were good. Not an extensive wine menu, but lots of style. More of a lounge/bar. Very interesting patrons, great for people watching. Very cool waitstaff, laid back. For christmas they had a free buffet that was catered from possibly Anthony’s down the street — whatever, it was excellent! If you are in the mood for an old school loungey place, I highly recommend checking this one out. They also have a smoking porch for those that indulge.
