Tried for first time and although the place may not seem like much they had awesome friendly staff and great food. Coming from a girl from Texas where everything is large … They’re meal portions were beyond enough for one person to eat… Left overs!!! Free donuts for dessert with min purchase. Highly recommend

My review is not about the food but the bathrooms. The food is better than average but after walking in this place on two separate occasions I felt like throwing up when I went in the men’s bathroom. It was absolutely filthy and this was the second time and still I can’t believe someone can’t go in and clean this bathroom, you know the old saying if they can’t even keep the bathrooms clean what the heck does the kitchen look like. I’m sorry to have to mention this to those of you who have good reviews on here but if you don’t believe me go into the bathroom yourself, I doubt the women’s bathroom is any better so I told my wife if you want to continue to eat there feel free but I will not.

Fast and cheap, their lunch specials are amazing with items ranging from $ 5.25 to $ 5.75(w/o tax). They also offer dinner combination plates that range from $ 7.50 to $ 7.95 and comes with a spring roll and a crab rangoon. My food usually takes about 10 minutes to be ready and are always fresh. I got my mom hooked on their General Tso’s Chicken(my go-to dish here).

Can’t go wrong with the food here. Only thing that makes it 4 stars is the crab Rangoon aren’t that good to me.

Just tried for the first time and I’m impressed! Very good shrimp lo mein and crab rangoon. I also got some fried rice for lunch tomorrow and all at a reasonable price. Delivery time was short! I’ll be ordering again

This is by far my favorite Chinese place in Gladstone… And I have tried almost all of them. Their veggies are fresh and their meat is good quality. I just love this place and wouldn’t pick anywhere else. However… Their fried rice is like fried white rice no veggies or eggs which bothers my husband. Me? I really don’t care.

Kung pao chicken is amazing. Crab Rangoon is amazing. I got my food delivered in less than 30 mins on a Friday afternoon and it was hot too! This is definitely my new chinese spot! Also the delivery man was nice and so were the people who took my order(:

I’m pretty picky about my Chinese, and I have yet to have a bad meal here. I usually get Sweet and Sour Chicken or General Tso’s Chicken, both of which could turn out very badly as they need to be cooked fresh, and they are always cooked fresh here. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. There is not a lot of ambience in the restaurant as most people order take-out if they are locals, but when I’ve eaten here and actually sat down to eat, I had no major complaints, except that there was not any music playing, which is a little odd.

New China Star has somehow become our Sunday take out choice pretty much every week! Kung Pao Chicken and crab rangoons — very tasty and a great value. I always have leftovers for work the next day. The dining area is not the most appealing and sometimes they take a while to answer the phone, but they’re receiving 5 stars for the quality, speed, and amount of food they include in their orders. I’ve never waited longer than ten minutes for my delicious meal to be ready!

I LOVE New China Star! I got the menu randomly in the mail and decided to order delivery from there and the food was fantastic. I’ve actually ordered from there twice now and both times– food was fast, hot, and the veggies and everything were super fresh. For what I’m assuming is just a little hole-in-the-wall kind of place(I’ve never been there), the food in my experience has been amazing!

Despite some shortcomings, this keeps 3 stars because the flavor of the food was quite good. Firstly, when I entered, it was assumed I was placing a to go order. I guess no one actually eats here, but there were several phone orders taken while I ate. The décor was chipped formica tables and vinyl benches with the occasional tear. The tables were clean, but there was a bit of rice on the floor. Two TVs were on the wall, both turned off, and there was a noticeable lack of music. The predominant sound outside of the cook chopping and frying was the water trickle from the aquarium in need of a water top off, overpowered by who I assume to be the proprietor’s daughter gallivanting about. The service in general was attentive, quick, and accommodating. The spring rolls were basic, but fairly good. The general tso tofu was good — the broccoli cooked correctly, larger than expected chunks of crispy tofu, and a nice glaze. Tofu is tricky and I always order it with a bit of hesitation. They hit it spot on. Crispy fried at a high enough temperature to put a nice crust on it without soaking in oil and making the inner texture an undesirable oil-logged mush like some places are guilty of. There was a bit of water run off mixed to the side of the sauce, presumably from the broccoli not being well drained. I dabbed it with the only napkin provided. There were limited drink selections, only in 16.9 oz plastic bottles. Even though most wouldn’t care as this is mainly take out, they get minus one star for no drink station. That’s important to me. If I lived within their delivery area, I’d probably order more often than health goals would consider reasonable. As it stands, I’d come back when in the area, but I’d still be irritated by the drink situation.

My mom and I ordered take out here while we were having a girls night, it took over an hour and 30 minutes to deliver even though we’re 2 miles away. I ordered a shrimp dish and it came with 3 small shrimp. My mom on the other hand ordered beef and broccoli and it had ALL meat with no veggies. The rice was incredibly dry and hard, and when we bit into our egg rolls grease spurted out. Incredibly disappointing considering it was a $ 30 meal. I do not recommend.

Having Chinese with my girls This is a tipical Chinese food strip mall restaurant, but it is not clean and our food did not taste fresh, it was cooked to order but some of the meat and ingredence tasted old or slightly spoiled I do not think I will go back there are several other Chinese places in the area

The standard for Chinese takeout in the Northland. Always fresh, flavorful and timely and fantastic service despite the language barrier. The restaurant perhaps a bit barren in its décor but that’s OK — keeps prices down and helps me feel better about enjoying their food in the comfort of my own dining room.

Awesome! Fast delivery. Wonderful food. Generous portions and very flavorful. This is my new take out and delivery. Food was extremely hot and I am several miles away. Best won ton soup I have ever had. Do not hesitate to try!

Solid delivery option! Had general Tso’s and it was crispy and hot. Delivery was also really fast(was quoted 30 minutes but got here in 15). Crab Rangoon is good too

Good food. Great takeout option. We always joke that the driver must have left before we hung up the phone because the delivery is usually unimaginably fast.

I love this place! Have never had a bad experience! It is great! Have eaten in, carried out and had delivered. The food is consistently good. The owners are East Asian, so language confusion has happened, but with a sense of humor on both our parts, it has always worked out! But doesn’t that make the food more authentic?

I met some friends here for Monday lunch. There was no one else eating there which usually makes me very skeptical, but I followed my friend’s lead and ordered some fried rice. For $ 5.50, I got the lunch special: egg drop soup, shrimp fried rice, and 2 crab rangoons. The fried rice was a little salty(too much MSG?) and a bit greasy, but it was pretty delicious! They used big chunks of mushrooms(which I love). Everyone from my lunch group ordered some form of fried rice, so I guess that’s all i can write about. Good fried rice!
