Would leave negative stars if possible, worst experience imaginable. Destroyed what belongs they did not steal… Literally pillaged through everything and stole thousands of dollars worth of personal items. Including guitar, old family wedding rings, clothing, you name it. I would NEVER recommend using this company. Get a POD!

If I could give them zero stars, I would but that’s not an option. We were scheduled for a start between 10 and 2, and at 830 pm they finally admitted they weren’t coming… after stringing us along all day. Totally left us in a lurch. Will never use them again and will not be recommending them to friends.

I’m not usually the kind of individual who publishes negative messages, but I feel compelled to share my recent moving experience and warn potential customers to NEVER use Moovers, located in Kansas City.
Initially, I felt that choosing Moovers was a good decision, but once the move began things quickly fell apart. Due to their trucks being already scheduled, it necessitated my belongings to be stored in their warehouse for two days. I was informed that the movers would arrive Sunday evening (my contract stated by 7 pm). They arrived at 11 pm and proceeded to make a considerable amount of noise and finally finished unloading the truck at 12:45 am. That was the first issue. Upon unpacking my boxes and such, I discovered quite a few damaged items including an antique bookshelf and one box was missing entirely. Keep in mind that I was promised — several times — that my belongings would be safe in their warehouse.
After repeated attempts to reach my representative via phone and e-​mail, I was contacted by their «Claims» person. I was absolutely floored to learn that my missing box was actually stolen in their warehouse by employees and that one item (my chainsaw) had been found tucked away in a corner to be smuggled out later. All of this was conveyed to me in a very nonchalant manner by their «Claims» expert. After filling out the required forms and haggling with them about value, I finally received a check for repairs/​stolen items nearly two months after my move. The lack of communication and inability to respond in a timely manner seems to be a trademark for all of their representatives.
I’m warning you to not use Moovers nor recommend them to any of your clients, family or friends. They have absolutely no problem cashing your check, but the actual service they provide is lackluster at best.

Woke up at 6:30am to meet out Moovers who were set to arrive at 7. Got a call at 9:30am saying truck was broken but that our business was important and they’d find a solution. Fast forward to 3pm, several calls initiated by my husband and I and 0 status updates from them. This was an AWFUL experience and is feeling more and more like a scam– a company that overbooks and picks the higher $ amount moves first. What kind of moving company doesn’t show up on the day you book them to move? We took off work, rearranged our weekend and have been sitting ducks all day for a truck that never showed surrounded by our packed boxes + furniture. Absolutely crazy and unreal. 0 stars, terrible experience and will be shifting around my schedule for a week to figure out how to actually move before lease is up. It’s 320 and we got ahold of our driver (still no updates on a truck that broke almost 8 hours ago?) — cancelled with them officially. TERRIBLE. Air mattress tonight.

They did not inform us correctly of how much it would cost. They informed us that they would only charge us for 1 move. So I signed when they moved out our stuff to move it to VA (already having paid then 4600 $ for that which was ¾ of what they told us they were going to charge) then charged my husband again when they unloaded us in VA. So they charged us for 2 moves. And when we asked them about it afterwards, they did not do anything to help us. We are missing boxes still (2 months after wards) as well as a hold in our couch and they also misrepresented their prices and lied. They owe us 1600 $ from what they charged us which should have been 1 move not 2. I would not recommend them. The company is screwed up. The owners mom is in charge of their finances. She was not helpful and lost receipts as well.

Destroyed our stuff, could care less about it, we had to hire a lawyer and sue them for them to even acknowledge what they did. I wish I could post pictures and video of them destroying our stuff. Over $ 15,000 in damage. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use another company. These people are terrible people and don’t care about you!

I’ve used Moovers twice and recommended them to many. The first time they tallied everything I had and itemized the cost that way. The second time I received a flat rate. Both times I was more than pleased with the service from the movers themselves and the staff at the company. You can tell their guys work hard though, be sure to tip!
PS — Using professional movers is a lot less expensive than you think. I will never move myself again (no more sore back)!

My experience with Moovers began on a good note but ended on a very sour one. They were recommended to me by a coworker and I liked their easy quote system on their website. Well, looking back I think it’s silly for anyone moving to provide an itemized list of belongings and then receive a quote based on that. It’s just difficult to do that unless your house is perfectly packed before you even request a quote, or unless you have very very little stuff. I only had a small apartment to pack up but I found myself calling them to change the quote several times and each time I felt like I was being «nickel and dimed». Well, I still stuck with them but then moving day came along, I was given a window of 8am-​2pm. Well, that’s a pretty big window. I hadn’t received a call from anyone by 1:45, and I was told I would get called 30 minuts prior to the truck arriving. I called the office and a lady told me in a nice way that I was out of luck because they were running late and that they had never guaranteed a time and If I checked my email from them I would’ve seen that. Gee, thanks. When I explained that having the movers arrive at 5pm was nuts because I had cleaning and other things to do she was just like *insert generic sorry here*. Sigh. At that point I was done dealing with their crap and I felt like my day was wasted. I asked for a discount to offset the inconvenience and she said no. Thanks but no thanks. I cancelled my appointment and I went ahead and called a competitor, Friend with a Truck, and they were wonderful. Moved me for a flat fee, were $ 100 cheaper than Moovers, and were done in less than two hours. Much better.

Unfortunately we had a bad move and I can only hope this was unique to us. They were a referral from a buddy of mine who is a real estate agent with Reese Nichols, so we felt good going with them. We have left a message for the company in the hopes to get things resolved, but with no response we’ve started posting our experience and letting friends know. Also let my realtor know so he could stop referring them.
Our move was scheduled for June 30^th between 2 – 6. My wife was at the old house and I was at the new house. Truck and two guys showed up at 7:30 that night. They said things were taking longer because of the extreme heat which was completely understandable. The guys said we were the 4^th move that day so obviously they were a bit exhausted already. In fact they said they finally had lunch on the way to our place. We gave them all the ice and water (and soda) they could drink to help stay cool and got the move started. We were promised 5 garment boxes but they guys didn’t have any. Lucky for us we had one more day in the old house, so we were able to go back the next day and grab clothes, otherwise it’d have been a mess. While the guys packed the truck, my wife was busy doing final cleanups on the house and wasn’t able to watch them work. So the truck was packed up and headed to the new house a little after 9pm. When they arrived around 9:30−10 and started unloading items I noticed that they didn’t wrap any furniture like we were told they do. Not one thing. Mattresses were sitting on the floor of the truck. Couches were laying up against the wall. The guys wives were calling because it was so late, so I told them let’s just get things off the truck and stacked in the living room, dining room and kitchen so I could go through it later. And I told them to just place furniture in or near the rooms they belonged and started pointing them in the right direction and carrying some boxes myself. My hope was to make it nice and quick so these guys could get home. Anyway, move finished just after 11pm by the time we signed the paperwork. According to the guys, they started the day at 7:30am, so they were going on a 15.5 hour day. Gave them a nice tip and they were on their way. We did our best to look over everything as close as possible, but when you have boxes sitting on boxes and furniture stacked and just sitting everywhere, we obviously missed quite a bit. Bad mistake on our part, although I’m not sure what would have been done at the time seeing that it was well after their office hours. It was close to 2am by the time my wife and I discovered some of the damaged items. After a few more days of «discovery» here is our most up to date list, and hopefully final, of things damaged in the move.
–Queen mattress ripped and had wood shavings stuck in the side from when they slid it out. They laid it up against a wall with the rip towards the wall so never saw it.
–mower handle was broken off and laying on a shelf in the garage. Mower was folded and pushed in the back corner so never even noticed it.
–office desk was scratched across the front. They set it on it’s side so it was hidden from view.
–top of clothes dryer was dented (brand new set). Box was on top so didn’t see it.
–couch had a rip in a corner by the arm rest. Hidden behind some cushions and pillows out of view.
Now the two guys we had were really nice and worked their asses off. I have to think the majority of these things were damaged because they were flat out exhausted working in 100 degree heat and they weren’t as careful as I hope they normally are. Put me in a 15hr shift and I’m probably gonna break something.
Like I said at the beginning, I hope this was an isolated incident and that other people enjoy their services. But for us, we won’t be recommending them anytime soon. The money we saved going with 1−800-Moovers won’t come close to repairing and replacing these items.

DIDN“T SHOW UP OR CALL 2 DAYS IN A ROW.
I had scheduled a move with Moovers about 2 weeks in advance and they had given me the timeframe of 12 — 6pm for when they would arrive. I didn’t receive a call until 7:00pm moving day saying that they would not be able to make it and wanted to reschedule two days later! This was not doable since I needed to be out of my house as planned that day… and they had wasted my entire Saturday.
Moovers then said that they could possibly fit us in early the next day and that they would just have to call us back to let us know. They refused to give us any phone number or contact information (after much pleading), so we were at the mercy of their word. They had once again given us a time-​range that they would arrive, this time from 10 — 4pm. We NEVER heard from them, they never showed-​up or called. The customer service department was rude and unapologetic about their own mistake. They blamed it on the moving guys and the heat… but really the sales office overbooked the weekend and left me hanging out to dry.
I have moved a lot, including cross-​country, and have never had an awful experience until using this company. I would recommend using another company because they seem to care little about the customers they make appointments with

BAIT AND SWITCH RIPOFF ARTISTS. did not honor written bid on move day. bent me over charging me 2X written bid. non-​responsive after I complained of unauthorized charges on my credit card. Filing complaints with every trade bureau and legal authority applicable.

I recently was forced to move in a hurry and due to some complications, my friends weren’t able to assist so in a pinch, I decided to call a moving company. This was my first time hiring a moving company and after such a great experience, I will never go without again.
I thought it was going to be impossible to get a moving team to help me at the last minute at 10 am on a Saturday. I think moving on St Patty’s day probably helped with that, but Taylor with Moovers said they could do it! Taylor was very friendly and informative, providing several different options regarding the costs/​times for moving. After weighing some options I went with their hourly option. Their flat rate option based on the inventory of items is a great option too, especially if the actual moving process could take up a lot of actual time, but the hourly worked better for us with this move.
The 3 man team showed up at my door step right on time, ready to move! Pat, Jon & Cory were very friendly and took great care with all of my expensive equipment and furniture. After getting my new place unpacked, I took a second look and didn’t have any damage done.
I was very impressed and highly recommend Moovers!
