Born and raised a Missourian, she graduated from Westminster College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business emphasizing Finance. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005. While clerking for the Honorable Robert L. She left the clerkship in 2007 to practice bankruptcy law at a small law firm in Kansas City.
