I’ve been to Latteland a few times now and I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed. The style and atmosphere inside are relaxed and modern — the little mini booths are comfortable and pretty neat looking as well. I love the baristas here, fast and efficient with great recommendations. I love the frozen drinks they have, especially in the summer months, and they make a mean hot chocolate. The drinks here are fairly priced, as are the pastries, which are incredible as well. While I do still like Starbucks, Latteland is easily my first choice!

Everything changes. :-(Latteland across the metro used to be my go-to place. Two reasons: Mocha Bliss and Plaza Sunrise. Guess what they no longer make? Guess where I no longer go? The baristas are less than friendly and the coffee is about as generic as S tarbucks. There are better options in KC.

I consider this the«other» Latteland because the one across from Capitol Grille is much more laid out for«taking some time» and people-watching. This is the place for work or the quick drink or takeout. Same great coffee.

I love Latteland. Love love love. Their drinks are so yummy and the staff is always super nice. And they have an extensive variety of drinks(although I’m partial to the Green Tea Chai Latte, it’s always nice to have options in case one day I decide to venture into new territory). It definitely is one of my top fave coffee places(which says a lot because I’m a coffee snob). The café itself is super cute no matter what location you go to, and their service is super fast. Plus, they always have almond milk, which can be difficult to find. I’ve gone to the location downtown several times to work, and it’s never been too crazy packed. As an added bonus, their prices aren’t any higher than other coffee shops around. Hooray.

For having lived seven years now in the Kansas City Metro area, I feel I have missed out for all these years, for I am just now getting a cup of coffee at this particular Latteland. It saddens me to know I’ve passed it over many-a-time, like the nerdy guy, who actually turns out to be the real sweetheart. Sigh… I truly dig the cozy-single-space-cubbie-benches; I’ve never really experienced the feeling before. As I reflect on all my countless coffee shop experiences, I have found it hard at times to concentrate or study, and have known my eyes and mind to wander, honing my people-watching skills as another patron enters. At this Latteland, instead I can lean on one side of my cubbie and completely ignore the door, and be in my own little world. The place has several of these cubbies, bar stool seating in the front facing the windows, as well as a larger table in the back for all you socialites. If you are someone like me who knows they need to be in the zone and focus on something, but oftentimes gets distracted by beautiful people who enter coffee shops, you really need to check this place out. Latteland, you have found yourself a new regular!

Oh hey! Guess what? Something outside of Starbucks does exist in the Plaza! Whoa… and it’s cuter! Latteland offers a great opportunity to stop, sit, and sip a cool mango iced tea.(Or, if you’re seeking something other than the daily brew, the baristas will kindly ice whatever tea you request.) The single person booths are cute, allowing you to snuggle in your own cubby. It’s kind of like kindergarten, only you can have coffee now because you’re not five, and caffeine won’t make you insane(or maybe it will). It’s calm, quiet, and charming.

Once upon a time I worked just a few doors down from this Latte Land, making it my first experience with the local coffee chain. I came for the coffee, stayed for the granola, and returned for the hunky barista. I go back on the occasion that I find myself in the Country Club Plaza, which honestly isn’t that often. Still, it makes me happy when I’m here. One of my favorite things about this location is the seating. It’s as if each person gets their own little pod in which to work. I imagine that’s similar to coffee-shops of the future, and who doesn’t like the future? Not me, that’s for sure. I LOVE the future. I like the weird little culture this location seems to have fostered. Ever been to a motorcycle gang coffee shop? Come here and you have.(Though I doubt that there are many other motorcycle gangs that like to drink lattes and read the New York Times in a bougie shopping district). Once you bore of the Half-Caff Hell’s Angels, there are ample other people-watching opportunities. There are often street performers in plaza immediately outside the door, and the general hustle and bustle offers opportunities as well. A 5 star experience, –1 for not having smoothies and thus making me walk all the way to the Jefferson street location. Sorry, I know you can’t control it… but thems the breaks.

This is an absolutely delightful little coffeehouse. It doesn’t have the«feel» of a chain, and really makes you comfortable grabbing a coffee while walking around the Plaza. I had the Cappucino, and it was well done, a little foamy, but delicious. The girls behind the counter looked like they worked at a coffee shop, and were very friendly. We asked about some of the bumper stickers they had posted around, and they were laughing and talking to us while preparing our drinks… multitasking, ftw. Nothing to complain about. This is a great little place, and we sat in the outdoor seating and soaked in the sun before resuming our Plaza tour.

I love me my Starbucks and my usual places. But when I go traveling, I always want to try something different. On the Plaza there are many options so after wandering around for a few minutes, we decided we needed a break on a Sunday afternoon of shopping. We went in and were immediately presented with a queue. I took time to look around. Latteland is definitely a chain, but for some reason it doesn’t feel like one. Maybe it’s the atmosphere: quiet, studious. There’s a big table in the back, some counter space, and then about 6 single-person booths for working. It seems more of a place you want to stop for a quick drink and leave or you’re camping ut working for the day on the free wi-fi. I had a(proper) chai and a cookie, both were delicious and well done. The prices are reasonable and the service is a little slow, but worth the wait.

This Lattéland(which, mind you, is just 4 blocks away from the OTHER Plaza Lattéland) has a whole different atmosphere, and is pretty solid. This particular location does have seating and such, but really, it’s more of a «stop in, get java, and go» location. Not to say that you can’t get work done(Free WiFi, in addition to the Plaza’s free WiFi) or sit down and read the paper there… but it’s not quite designed for that. The coffee guys(especially the Sunday morning ones) sling a good brew, and the coffee is pretty good. Keep this store open until midnight during the week, and you’ve got a full-blown regular.

When I am visiting my mom in Kanas City I tend to skip the other pretentious coffee stops and head strait to Latteland. Very good coffee, even better chai and very friendly staff. If I were you I too would skip the other coffee shops and go to Latteland. Even my Starcrack addicted mother prefers Latteland!

This is one of our favorite coffee spots in the city. Great outside seating area, high quality coffee and a very friendly staff. I recommend their French Press coffee and chocolate chunk cookies!

Very cool little coffee shop here in the Plaza area of Kansas City, MO. I wandered in from the cold for a cappucino and was very pleased. The baristas were friendly and even provided me with directions to another type of shop I was looking for. I’m probably going to head back while I’m here this week for work.

Coffee snob that I am, I will admit the iced coffee can get me a little TOO energized. But if it’s the zing of caffeine you’re into, the iced coffee will perk you up, maybe irreversibly ;) But my favorite thing(besides the friendly faces behind the counter) is their UNREAL chai latte. Unlike a lot of places that mix a powder with some soy milk and froth for days, Latteland pulls their chai from(brace yourselves) actual tea. It’s complex, warming, delicious. And not super sweet. Which means you’ve still got room for a chocolate chunk cookie.

Hidden gem on the plaza. While the Latteland on 47th Street isn’t hidden, it’s fairly small and I suppose, easy to miss. It’s just west of the North Face store, directly across from The Classic Cup. Latteland has delicious coffee from Kaldi’s(in St. Louis) and friendly service. They even have a punch card for frequent visitors, it’s on the coffee sleeve, but you can cut it out and put it in your wallet.

Every writer worth her(or his) salt needs a regular coffeeshop — a homebase, if you will. A place with good people, great service, and even better coffee. For me, my home away from home(or office away from home) is Latteland — but it usually has to be the one on 47th Street. Why am I so picky about the location? Two words: Booth pods! Seriously. This is the only Latteland I know of that has individual booths whose backs curve around you and reach almost to the ceiling, creating a cozy little pod-like space complete with a table and, get this — your very own two-plug outlet! Rejoice! But enough about the aesthetics, and on to the important stuff. Latteland brews some of my favorite espresso in Kansas City, and I’m addicted to the Caramella(caramel + vanilla) – iced, except on bitterly cold days. During the holiday season, it’s all about the winter dream tea latte, a fragrant and delightful mix of milky tea, cloves, vanilla and a hint of orange. It tastes like Christmas. And even though it only appears on Latteland’s seasonal menu, here’s a tip: you can order it year-round. Just ask for it. More recently, I’ve become addicted to LL’s smoothies — specifically, the Coconut Grove(strawberry, banana and coconut). Make sure you’re thirsty, because the smoothies are only available in a whopping 20-ounce glass. LL also has an appetizing array of baked goods, including one of my favorite desserts in the city: the wedding cake cookie, a sugary, iced confection so amazing that Rob and I are foregoing cake at our wedding in order to serve these aptly named treats. Compared to other coffeeshops, LL could offer a larger assortment of baked goods, but all in all, it’s a welcoming option whether you’re in need of a quick sugar or caffeine fix or, like me, in need of a creative outpost and plan to camp out for several hours.

First, can I say that I find it a little ridiculous that there are reviews for all Latteland locations under this address? Rest assured that I’m talking about the 47th Street location — and only the 47th Street location — in this review. This spot has been my home away from home for the past year while I’ve been in grad school. At least twice a week, normally with a study buddy, I can be found anchoring the big table in back for several hours, slaving away over school work. I’ve never felt unwelcome here or that I’m not spending enough money to justify my presence — instead everyone on staff has been consistently friendly to me, even offering me a free drink when I’ve been in regularly without my punch card. I’m not a coffee drinker, so I can’t speak to that, but they make a yummy chai(and green tea chai) that is always piping hot and foamy, and if you’re lucky, you can get your paws on a sandwich from Nutty Girls, or go bonkers with a well-iced wedding cake cookie and have one hell of a time.
