This restaurant opened recently where the Ethiopian restaurant used to be. It has outdoor seating and daily $ 4.95 lunch specials. However, it’s only open for breakfast and lunch weekdays. I LOVELOVELOVE their soft drinks from sweet tea, green tea, peach tea, typical soft drink machine, coffee(fresh ground beans), etc. I had their $ 4.95 fish taco special(2 fish tacos with beans and rice) along with a bottomless drink along with a small order of chips and spicy salsa. The fish taco special was good, but not amazing. It was no El Patron. However, I really loved the salsa. It wasn’t hot, more like medium. It had a lot of fresh cut up vegetables and wasn’t that typically watery stuff you get with most restaurant salsa. The Sweet tea was the sweetest I’ve ever had in my life! Apparently, they use real sugar, not high fructose syrup. The manager was quite friendly and told us how they prepare the foods. He said 95% of the menu is prepared from scratch. They do have a limited menu compared to the Gladstone location, but are designed for an express menu. It’s great for lunch for the typical workerbee like myself. We even brought out dog outside to join us. Of note, you’ll most likely have to pay for metered street parking, but the INEXPENSIVE menu makes up for that!
