–KC Rock Band & Guitar teaches group and private music lessons and rock band classes, all taught in a fun and creative environment. Our teachers have their degrees in Music Education or Music Performance and have years of experience teaching music and performing.

–Our coached Rock Bands give students a place to put all their hard work to use! Students rehearse weekly with their band, are coached by a professional, and get to perform each semester.

–We offer group and private lessons on:

History

Established in 2013.

Matt and Laura Lee Crandall, co-​owners of KC Rock Band & Guitar, strongly believe that learning music positively influences a student’s life in more ways than one can imagine. Both professional performing musicians and music teachers, they were deeply saddened that so many schools’ music programs have been cut in recent years. So in the Spring of 2013, they started KC Rock Band & Guitar School of Music to offer an additional outlet where students can learn and perform, particularly the instruments of the modern rock band, which usually are not taught in schools.

Students have grown and flourished at KC Rock Band & Guitar; each semester

brings greater improvement and the sheer joy of music.

Meet the Business Owner

Matt and Laura Lee C.

Business Owner

Matt Crandall began studying music at age 3 on the piano, before switching to saxophone at age 9. He added guitar, bass, and trombone to his rep in his teen years. He must love of collecting instruments, because he also studied flute and clarinet in college. Matt received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Missouri-​Kansas City Conservatory of Music. He has taught privately and in the public schools for over 10 years. Matt has also been a member of the 312^th Army band since 2001.

Laura Lee began studying piano at age 5 and continued until she switched to drums and percussion at age 11, and eventually went on to earn her degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Missouri-​Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Laura Lee has performed and taught privately in Kansas City for over 10 years. She has a firm belief that every child should be issued a drum set upon birth :)
