KC Loft Space

Honestly, I’m a little surprised to see negative feedback! I love living in Opera House Lofts and have had nothing, but good experiences with the KC Loft Space staff. They are always prompt with my maintenence requests, which have amounted to two in the time that I have lived here. I have been in Opera House for about 2 years and am thinking about moving into KC Loft Space’s Old Townley Lofts. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you KC Loft Space for a great experience.

I lived in the Richard Conover building for 3 years and absolutely loved it. As a young, single lady, I Google and research my potential new apartments for tips on my safety, my happiness and my potential sanity levels on entry, stay and exit of said apartment/​loft. I love, love this building. I never wanted to leave my unit, I wanted to pluck it out of kc and take it to my new state. Could I occasionally hear a loud convo my neighbors had? Yes. But nothing to not rent here for. I truly felt safe in this building, you’re in downtown in a city so as long as you are smart you’ll be fine, but I never had any problems at all, and really felt safe and happy. The location can’t be beat .I’m in such a love affair with the River market that even men and cats can hardly compete. The location is so perfect. It’s like San Francisco and Seattle had a city baby but the people smile and actually give a F about being curtious. There’s a pool, that is fun, occasionally gets crazy but normally nice and chill. Club room is a killer space to rent for parties. Always Been pleased with service, Repairs, And office staff. Really great crew, feels like a real community. Wish the kitchens/​bathrooms had granite & stainless steel. But the character, uniqueness, location and security of the Richard Con building can’t be beat. No complaints about my 3 great years here.

My loft floor was so poorly insulated in this place that I could hear my neighbors just talking below me. If they had been saying their credit card number over the phone, I would have had it, that is how badly constructed these are. The office staff was friendly, the pool is the size of my parents pool but with 100 people crammed in it at a time, hardly useful. Aside from that, great location.

Please note that the loft space is not in question, the units are beautiful and very well maintained. This review is regarding the ethics and integrity of the management team. While adequately pleasant and personable, the level of professionalism and respect [on this particular visit] was sub par and disappointing.
My fiancé and I made an appointment to view one of the lofts at City Market. While the appointment was set for 11 am, we finished looking at another loft in a timely manner and arrived 30 minutes early. When we walked in the door there was a very palpable discomfort among the staff, and for good reason…
A gentleman had called about the same loft, apparently the last one left, and said he could be there within three minutes (to look at it before we did), and ultimately put a deposit down; He showed up while we were sitting in the office.
Another leasing agent raced with him to the apartment, beating us there. When our agent met us outside she stated very presumptuously, «If I were you I’d start writing out a check.» We hadn’t even seen the loft yet.
When we got into the loft, the other gentleman was there and, bless his heart, he looked very uncomfortable. We were all uncomfortable.
While viewing the unit (which was beautiful, but was definitely more of an apartment and not a true loft), we inquired about parking. The garage parking was stated at $ 65/​mo, the adjacent parking lot was $ 35/​mo and street parking, free. I asked if the garage was shared with other lofts or businesses. It’s not, they own it and still charge their residents to park there. I know this is not completely unacceptable in the city, but the prior lofts we looked at had two lots [both completely free to park in] and a much lower rental rate.
Upon leaving we said we were probably going to go with one of the other lofts we had looked at earlier that morning, managed by another company, and the other gentleman could have that one.
When we arrived back at the leasing office, thoroughly disgusted with our experience and in no way even interested anymore, I asked my fiancé to excuse me from going in to pick up his ID. The leasing agent, still trying to close the deal, then asked him if negotiating parking would change our minds. He said no and told her the true reason.
I wish them luck in the future and I hope this honest review helps to improve the next potential tenant’s experience.
