International School of Professional Bartending

I started the Bartending school on a whim from a Groupon. I had so much fun, I decided to knock out a bucket list item and take bartending school. Beth is fantastic and I’m so thankful that I got my license. Whether you are wanting to become a full-​time or part-​time bartender or just want to know how to become the best host ever, this is a great opportunity

Hey Hey Peeps! Want to hear about my latest adventure??? I became a bartender!!! Okay Okay, so here’s how it happened. Well, I was trying to figure out how to make extra cash this year. (mommy needed a new car) and heaven above knows that with this economy we are all living paycheck to paycheck. Anywho, a buddy suggested bartending school as his recently retired dad had just completed the course and had a lot of success. Soooo, I did some digging and checked out their website. I ended up calling and was greeted by the director, Beth. She encouraged me to come down and check out a class, so, I did. I immediately loved the atmosphere and the classroom setting… its a bar! yes, its set up like an actual bar!!! You sit on barstools during class, talk about getting deep in the work huh? Anyway, what I loved was the amount of stuff I learned in such a short time… I learned about all drinks and got plenty of hands-​on practice. I even had the opportunity to serve shooters to my friends! It was awesome. They were also super flexible with my schedule. Okay so I know the previous review mentioned the price being a bit high but believe me, its worth every penny. I am one of those people that like to know what I’m doing before putting myself out there, so feeling prepared was important for me. I’m so happy I did it. I had a great experience and moreover, I booked GIGS!!! I booked my first gig one week after completing the course and now I just booked the ALL STAR games. Premier Resource loved that I had my mixology certification. If you are seriously thinking of venturing out for additional income, I highly suggest going into bartending, and I suggest you check out their school. Be ready to fall in love. Oh PS. You WILL become the life of the party amongst your friends… my friends, looooove my lemon drops!

I have to say that Bartending school was great. When I was first thinking about coming into the school I had a lot of questions. After a short email, to Beth the director, I knew I was making a smart decision. With little experience I would not have felt confident calling myself a bartender, but by the end I couldn’t believe the amount I had learned in such a short period of time. There was never any need to sit and study because with all the practice time they give you it very quickly becomes absorbed and now feels like second nature. The classes were very casual and fun but the lessons were never forgotten about. Everyone working was extremely friendly and warm. My instructor, Debbie, works in the industry and it shows. Not only do you learn the basics but also more complicated recipes and the trendiest drinks of moment. I learned how to layer liquors and beers, free-​pour and we even got to set things on fire! Commuting from out of town everyday was a little stressful but even if I ran into traffic my tardiness was never held against me. Most importantly I had tons of fun. If formal education was this much fun the drop out rate would diminish to zero. One of the highlights of the course is that they will work with you to help find you a job as soon a you pass the final test. My single criticism is that the school costs quite a bit of money ($ 795), but they want you in class so badly they will work with you to figure out the finances. The two weeks I spent in class were fun, exciting, and extremely educational. I feel confident in my new skill set and I am ready to start something great. There is nothing I can do to thank Beth and Debbie enough for clearing the path that I will not walk down but sprint. Finally, I have to say that I would recommend this course for EVERYONE, not just people who are thinking about the a job in bartending.
