Many clients wonder about who a therapist is. As therapists we are taught to keep personal information from clients. I agree and disagree. There are times when one wants to know the person they are talking to can relate and understand them. Sharing who I am in certain key ways is I think integral to the work I do with clients. I grew up here in Kansas City and have a background in Education and Counseling Psychology. With a license in Clinical Social Work and strong managerial background I bring a wide range of experience to my work. I have specialized training in sexual health and how that relates to psychotherapy. I work from a relational point of view (meaning we are all in relationship with each other). Learning to be authentic and honest and vulnerable so that we can connect in meaningful ways is an important component to satisfaction and happiness.
