I got my tattoo by Leeuh about a year ago. She did my hand, the ditch of my arm, and the inside of my upper arm. It was black work/dots. The ditch of my arm, and upper arm turned out good. As for my hand, I am completely unsatisfied, which is super unfortunate considering the location. I’ve seen a lot of her work, which is wonderful, even on a few of my friends. I just don’t want anyone to make the same mistake as I did. I should of researched more. A hand piece is a HUGE deal. it’s there forever, and it’s something everybody ALWAYS sees. I wanted to love it, and i tried to love it, but it’s just sloppy. Unfortunately, I’ve considered laser, but it would be way more than i can afford, and years on down the road before it would be done. I decided that I’m having someone else fix it up for me. The point is, a lot of her work is very good. however, dot work is not her specialty as it MAY seem. the dots are too big & too close together, which causes them to mesh together overtime(even within the year of having it), turning into a black blob. This is going to be a hard job to fix but i have confidence in the man whose been doing this kind of work for 10+ years. Although its not the prettiest tattoo i’ve seen, it’s definitely not the ugliest. RESEARCHRESEARCHRESEARCH before you make a huge commitment.

I went to see Cordis for an ear piercing because I have caught myself considering marriage, and I figured I should experience pain AND buying jewelry first. He was professional and clean and frankly I’ll probably be back for more holes.

I got a fantastic tattoo today at Grimm. This was my first tattoo. Chelsea Snow was my artist. She was very professional, gave great advice and approached my piece with a collaborative spirit. I love my tattoo and would recommend her to everyone.

I booked an appointment with Rachel Cross when my fiancé bought me a Groupon for a piercing. First, not a big deal but when I got there, she didn’t know what I was there to get done, even though I had typed it in when I booked. Just weird that she doesn’t read that. The biggest issue, however, started when I had forgotten my ID. I later realized I had accidentally put it in my pocket instead of back in my wallet after using it the day before, but the point is I didn’t have it and she said she wouldn’t do the piercing without a photocopy of my current ID. I even had my last driver’s license on me, but she said that wouldn’t work. I had booked the appointment specifically before going on vacation. I knew I’d have more free time to keep it clean, and I could show it off to my friends back home. Awesome. Except… not so awesome, because the Groupon expired while I was out of state. I asked her if it would be a problem if I rescheduled that day for when I got back. So it would be booked(but not used) before the expiration date. She said the best she could do was give me the value paid, but not the deal value. So essentially make it a gift certificate that I would have to pay an upcharge to use. It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth that she was so unaccomadating. I am a service provider and have used Groupon. I(and most who use Groupon) will allow you to keep the deal value as long as you have booked within an appropriate amount of time. I’m not hard to please, and I tip well. I just want to be treated like a valued client. It’s unfortunate that I still have to look for someone to do that. Luckily, Groupon felt the same way and refunded my fiancé.

Amy Bug at Grimm Tattoo is excellent and does all my tattoo work now. We’re currently in the middle of an ocean-themed full wraparound piece from the knee to the hip on one leg. When that’s complete I’ll be hiring her to do the same on the other leg with an outer space theme. Trust her judgment and skill completely.

I had an appointment with Rachael Cross this afternoon and man… I am really digging my new ink! The atmosphere is laid back, I am already looking forward to going back! Okay I am back for an edit! I know the initial review was rather blah… hey I was in a hurry and didn’t want to forget! So here it goes… I had an appt. at 1pm. I arrived early and she was still drawing my piece up(a cross) and a chest tattoo with my husbands name. shortly after 1 I was in the chair ready to get inked! Even though i was very tired and not much of a conversationalist at first, Rachael was very personable and we chatted the entire time I was there(3 hours). Wes(I believe he he the head honcho around there) was also pretty effing entertaining– great stories– just ask him about Bob Berdella! The shop mascot is a parrot– his name is Sailor. He just perches atop Wes’ shoulder and kind of just hangs out. The walls are adorned with tattoed people, especially servicemen. The original tattoo lady Betty Broadbent is also there– I bet she was an interesting topic of conversation in her day! All in all I have some new ink that I love! Look up Rachael on facebook – Rachael Cross Tattoos. She said she had been working as a tattoo artist for 3 years and I would like to get her name out there! I have been to a few other shops, but this one is my fav, such a laid back atmosphere! And there is a parrot! The actual address is 3915 Broadway… phone number is 816−931−0224. I just noticed the address listed on the site wasn’t the one I went to. oops
