Food and service sucks. Went with a few friends to get some margaritas and grub. The salsa that came with the complimentary chips tasted like straight water. We ordered ONE order of queso at $ 6.99 thinking that would suffice for our small group. We were brought TWO small(~4oz) cups of nasty queso. This queso tasted like microwaved kraft singles. The two small cups that we rightfully assumed was ONE order of queso… was actually two full orders. $ 6.99 for a 4oz cup of crap?! To top all of this off, they don’t serve alcohol, but their menus have an alcoholic beverage section? We did dig the music selection, felt like we were in da club. Guess it makes sense why we were the only ones in there.

I may have found a new favorite Mexican restaurant. Everything I had was good quality home-made food. There are so many appetizing dishes on the menu I will be back very soon to try another. I tried the mole, tomatillo sauces and both were made in-house, and both were very well done. Great«off the beaten path«location to take out of town guests for an affordable dinner… and the brewery next door makes for two great KC secrets.

I’m getting worried about El Burrito Loco. Recently, I’ve ordered carryout from them a couple of times. The first time, I just dropped in, thinking I’d have a beer while I waited for food. It was a Friday evening. We were informed that they hadn’t renewed their liquor license. The place was empty. There were just two women working. I tried to order a chile relleno burrito. They were out. I ordered an alternate dish, with a side of guacamole. It took forever to get our food. When I got home, my side container had been dumped over the shared appetizer BF and I ordered. He hates quac, so not really a good error. A week later, I called in a take out order. Tried to order the chile relleno again. Again, they were out. The place had one guy inside when I got there. Now, the food we did get was still tasty. The quantity was good. But are we going to see shutters any day now? It feels like it. Which is sad. Because I still want that damned chile relleno burrito.

I would have to say not a fan. Went there for lunch for a Togo order. Both of the cooks did not wear gloves at all when preparing food. Second I got a med burrito which was 7.99. Looked like a burrito I would get from taco bell. Tasted like it too. Don’t wast your money and go to chipotle, better tasting and bigger than what you’ll get here for the same price. First and last time I will go here…

I had high hopes for this place. I tried El Burrito’s breakfast burritos at a next door brewery that they were serving at for St. Patrick’s day. The breakfast burritos were pretty good with this whipped jalapeño dip. I planned on eating at the actual restaurant because the brewery I go to was having another event. I ordered the sopes with a side of tostones. There was no one in the restaurant and it took 40 minutes for me to receive my food. When my food arrived my beans and rice were cold. The sopes were not good. Eating the sopes was like eating cement paste, it was thick, tasteless, heavy, and dry. One tostones filled me up. The other two people I was with were not satisfied with their food either. My mother ordered the sopes and had the same opinions as me. My boyfriend tried the chimichanga and was disappointed. He said, when he thinks of a chimichanga he thinks of a fried chimichanga that is puffy. The chimichanga was flat and had been grilled on one side. He also said the chimichanga lacked flavor. The group’s consensus is, we don’t plan on returning. Which is a shame because we liked the breakfast burritos at the brewery so well.

Incredible find! We were here for an event at Big Rip(also amazing), tried a couple dishes and were impressed considering the unassuming vibe of the place. The chicken fajitas were brilliant, as were the pulled pork nachos! Best part is that they will deliver over to the brewery so you get best of both worlds!

Have had breakfast burritos twice now. Very good. I suggest going for the small size. Anything else is too much. I tried a medium it was way too much. No clue what a large looks like. Got chorizo both times and it was great. Got them fast and hot and was out the door and too work without having to worry and sitting around waiting for my order. Next time I go I will ask if they serve Mexican coffee.

Once again we are absolutely satisfied! The food is so yummy! Ordered a beef and a chicken nacho for delivery. Not only was it delivered by the owner, who was very apologetic for being late because he got lost, but the amount of food for the price is ridiculously large! We will be eating nachos most of the day tomorrow! The salsa is one of my favorite things! So very fresh! Once again completely satisfied with both service and food! Can’t wait until we go again!

I found that this was one of the closest Mexican restaurants from my job and decided to give it a try. The exterior is a basic, yellow brick building but the inside is a bit more appealing to the eye. They have plenty of room, big heavy wood tables, and TVs. The menus are just a front and back sheet of paper, so there isn’t a lot of variety… but they do provide the Mexican restaurant essentials. The waitress was nice & attentive gave me free chips and salsa as I looked over the menu. She also gave me a green jalapeño salsa that she said they make in-house. The traditional red salsa was pretty good, but my refill tasted a bit watered down. The jalapeño salsa had some great heat to it, but it was a bit salty for my taste. The green«salsa» also had more of a paste texture than a salsa one. I wanted a burrito and was happy about the selection. Since I’m not a big meat eater, I was excited to see vegetable burritos on the menu. They also vary in size from small($ 3.99) to jumbo(9.99). I opted for a large and was pleased with the size of the burrito. The large was pretty big, so I can only imagine what the jumbo looks like(maybe I’ll try that next time). The vegetable burrito was filled with rice, beans, tomato, peppers and onions. It was basically like a fajita wrapped in a burrito and covered with cheese sauce! There are several things on the menu that I would like to try, so I’m sure I’ll be checking this place out again. The food was good with good portions and the waitress was very pleasant. They also server breakfast and they deliver, so be sure to check them out!

We had purchased a Groupon for this restaurant after reading the Unilocal reviews, and we can’t wait to go back! They have quaint, cozy décor, and the service was fantastic. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch(but they do serve breakfast all day!). The server was very friendly, they quickly brought us fresh made salsa and chips — probably the best I’ve had at a local Mexican restaurant. I ordered a burrito with carnitas and my BF ordered a breakfast burrito with potatoes, cheese, and bacon. All burritos come with rice and beans inside — which are also made in house. We both loved our choices, and were perfectly happy with a medium burrito, although they do offer four different sizes. We also ordered churros for dessert, and they were the best I’ve ever had — EVER! Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar. The food is very well priced, especially for how fresh it is! After our meal, the owner came over to our table and asked about our food and the service. We made sure she knew how pleased we were with our meal, and that we’d be back with friends soon!

First, I would like to say this is probably the cleanest restaurant I have EVER seen, and I have worked in the food industry for over 15 years! Its kind of a hidden little gem, amazing food, great service, FRESH ingredients, amazing salsa, not one thing I was disappointed in. Have been working in the area for about a year and just discovered it. If you want Mexican and are in the area, you would be crazy to go anywhere else!

Holy portion control! For lunch, I opted for the large asada-steak burrito and an order of chips and guacamole to go. Definitely could have done with the small instead(or not because I totally had my leftovers for dinner). Burrito was much bigger than I anticipated which was a nice surprise. Rice, beans, and the protein of your choice are swaddled by a flour tortilla for your enjoyment. Now imagine like five(or seven) bags of chips from Chipotle but in one giant bag – that was the serving size of chips. Guac was alright and cheese was good too. I actually didn’t eat my salsa because, well, I ran out of room and frankly my original intent was guac only. Nice breakaway from the usual burrito joints.

This place was hidden and not exactly off of a main road. It was the same building as where KC Smoke Shack BBQ used to be(for those that went there) and for the most part, the interior was still the same along with the tables and chairs. El Burrito Loco Mexican Café came to mind when my coworkers wanted to eat lunch anywhere. I knew about this place for a few months but just never came out to try this place. There was street parking so it would be best to carpool if possible as the street parking can be limited. However, when we arrived on a Friday at 12:30pm on a gloomy day, we didn’t have any problem finding parking just outside of the restaurant. There were a few people eating lunch here and it wasn’t really busy. The waitress told us to pick a table so we did and she gave us the menu. The menu was simple and had a variety of choices(even two BBQ plates though personally I was skeptical because the name of the restaurant had burrito in it… just sayin’). Our waitress said their burritos and enchiladas were good. I had my mind set on a burrito($ 2.99 for a small, $ 5.99 for a medium, and $ 7.99 for a large) so I ordered a large asada burrito. I don’t know the difference between a small and large with such a price difference. It was 75 cents for each extra toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, sour cream, cheese, and bacon. We got free chips and salsa while we were looking over the menu. The chips were not bad and the salsa tasted fresh to me. We waited a few minutes and all of our food came out at the same time. The large burrito was pretty big so I don’t know how a small would compare in size. It was the type of burrito where it would be better to use a fork and knife to eat versus using your hands. Sorry for the crappy pictures as they were taken with my phone. The asada was good and everything went together well in my opinion. Each table had three difference hot sauces: Cholula Hot Sauce, Tapatio Hot Sauce, and Valentina Mexican Hot Sauce. I tried the Valentina Mexican Hot Sauce with some of my burrito and it was good. It tasted quite similar to the Tapatio Hot Sauce but not as spicy(at least to me). I ate at a slow pace so I was full(not food coma full) when I finished the burrito. The staff were nice and came to check up on us a couple times. We paid our checks from our table and were on our way back to work. Your clothes will smell afterwards so just a FYI if you care about that. I’ll need to come back to try other things on the menu. Great place for inexpensive food!

We thought this was really good. Group of four, late on a Friday, knew where it was but could have missed it because of very little lighting, came out pleased. We actually popped into the Big Rip Brewery tasting room for a fresh one first. Both on the very south end of Swift in Northtown. The enchilada suiza is exceptional. Perfect beans and rice. I think they still serve some BBQ out of the old smoker of Smoking Guns. I’m ready to go again.

Large and diverse menu not limited to ameri-mex, but had a cuban sandwich and even some barbeque. The two of us each had a burrito given the namer of the joint we expected then to be the standout. We asked the waitress if they were good and were told they were«ok». Should have taken her at her word. The burritos were, in fact, ok. Also, they charge for extras on the burrito like tomatoes and lettuce which I thought was odd since it was served with a lettuce and tomato garnish. Decent if your in the area and want table service amex.

Nestled in the industrial part of the North Kansas City is El Burrito Loco, one of the last places you’d expect to find a delicious breakfast burrito. While I have yet to sample any of their other foods, the breakfast burrito I had was out of this world. While the ingredient seem simple, the way it was made is the key. The refried beans tasted homemade while the potatoes were soft and warm on the inside with a nice little crunch on the outside. As for the chorizo and eggs, I would not have thought they would be cooked together, but in their grilled, sauce soaked, mess stuck together by melted cheese, it was the true centerpiece. If all their foods are this flavorful, I would recommend you take a sabbatical to 900 Swift Ave.

Yum Yum Yum. Stopped by here to try something new for lunch today. Tried two different types of pork along with carnitas. Ended up getting the carne asada and I was not disappointed. Truthfully, you could probably get any of the meats and you’d be happy… I got a medium, which was more than enough for me and it was filled with rice, beans, carne asada, sour cream, cheese and veggies. Yum! Served with a side of red and green salsa. I got a small cup of queso also. The owner and his wife(I’m pretty sure) were in there today and are WAY nice. I’m excited to come back for a breakfast burrito since they said they have one with chorizo & egg. I love small businesses and this one is one of the top that I’ve been to lately! :)

One of my coworkers, he’s my new favorite now, brought in breakfast burritos for the department. Oh. My. Gawd. That was just awesome. For one thing, they were still warm when the burritos got here. They were packed especially for traveling in a large, lidded aluminum container. It seems like a small thing but what a huge difference over a plastic bag when it comes to keeping things warm. The tortilla was grilled, sporting a little bit of char around the edges, and filled with egg, onions, peppers, potato, and bacon. There were 2 sauces, a red and a green. The green is the big star, bright and tangy and rocket hot. Looking over the menu I see that they have a good variety. Everything from tacos and enchiladas(including mole!), to cuban and brisket sandwiches. I can’t wait to try this place out for lunch!
