Chuan Fa Martial arts Specializes in teaching traditional Chinese Kenpo or (Chuan Fa) In it’s purest state. Students can be accepted at age 5 and up. Adults and children train separately and we offer private lessons to all students. We focus on true martial arts skills that are practical and effective in self defense situations. Great for kids and adults alike.

History

Established in 2014.

Owner and Head Instructor Chris Hutchings is a 15 yr student of Chinese martial arts. Starting his training in local parks with random masters, he was introduced to Kung fu and other forms of street fighting. He learned the art of Chuan Fa or Chinese Kenpo at AKKA Karate and continues to train under Gary McGhee of the Five Finger Fist Society. Chuan Fa Academy is in it’s infancy as an established business but is founded under strong pillars and is an exciting new addition to the already bustling waldo neighborhood.

Chris is a Martial Arts Nut. Training under him is not only fun and exciting you actually get to learn some great skills that most schools hide. He works great with kids and is a breath of fresh air for adults due to how approachable he is. While he will work you hard and have high expectations out of his students, he’s the first one to jump down in the trenches and do the work with you as a motivator. Hobbies include Curling, Golf, Disc Golf, Playing Bass, and just kickin it with his beautiful twin daughters. You may see these two in and out of the dojo from time to time and watch out. Even know they are only 2 they are putting their kicks and punches together just like daddy.
