A couple of the girls are really friendly while some are down right rude. The salon is large and clean. Celsius memberships are sub par, however, and their bed selection is uninspiring. Also, don’t bother making an appointment because they will usually give your bed away right as you walk in. I suggest The Tan Company or Sun Tan City if there are any near you. I wish either were closer to me.

I went to Celsius mainly based on Susan’s review. I, too, was born pasty so I was really nervous that getting color would mean that I look just plain awkward. I have 2 shades: Snow White and Blood/Lobster Red. I ride my bike and run a lot outside so while one could say that I have absolutely horrendous«tan lines», one could also never say that I resemble«tan». Anyway, I’m getting married in August and I was desperate to try and 1. cover up my tan lines and 2. I have a scar on my back that doesn’t tan, so I was hoping the dye in the spray tan would absorb and make it less visible. I called and made an appointment for the Celsius SPA and they had plenty of availability. When I went in, the two girls at the front desk were incredibly helpful. They could tell I had no idea what was up and they were very helpful at explaining each step and showing me to rub the lotion into my hands and nails without me even have to ask. I got a package of 3SPA tans and have used 2 so far. Takes just about 10 minutes to be in and out and on with your day. The only caveat is you shouldn’t shower for 12 hours after getting the tan, so I have to plan it carefully around my training schedule and no swimming. It also doesn’t smell that bad. I thought it would be overpowering, but it was much more subtle than I thought it would be. Also, for any interested parties, the scar didn’t absorb the dye, BUT having an even tan makes it stand out a lot less. And all scars are different depending on how they healed, so it might be worth a shot if you are interested.

This place is a lot bigger then expected and the staff was friendly and tried their best to be helpful to someone who knew nothing about tanning. Prices were a little on the high side, they didn’t really have any good deals.

Super friendly staff is very helpful! Love the variety of skin care products and equipment. Something to suit every tanners need. Tried the spray tan for the first time a few weeks ago. Great smell, streak-free, and great glowing color!

The other day, I was talking to my boy, Vinnie, and suddenly he reminded me about our GTL(gym/tan/laundry). Oh wait, I’m not one of the Jersey Shore cast and I’ve long ago left my guider-than-guido neighborhood. Actually, I don’t go out tanning. Truth be told, I’ve never visited a tanning salon before. What’s the point? 20 minutes out in the sun turns my arggh-it’s-a-ghost-white self into a mmmmm-look-at-that-tasty-lobster-red. Tanning machines would have the same effect so I’ve never gone. I like my white skin and have learned to appreciate it years ago;, however in pictures, it sometimes looks like there’s a ghost walking around. Just weeks before my wedding, I decided to give sunless tanning a shot. Get a little color, you know. Even if it is fake color. I randomly stop by Celsius since the fiancé had off-handedly mentioned it. Waking in, the girl who worked there looked normal color and not like some overly tanned leather freak bag. So far a yes. She was really cool about my nervousness and fear and didn’t treat me like some pariah for having never gone to a tanning salon before. She explained the process and set an appointment for me. Well, I couldn’t make the next two appointments and ended up having to cancel twice but they were nice about it. When I did finally go in, this other girl came and showed me how to do everything. She was real patient and again, didn’t treat me like a weirdo for having never tanned before. All in all, the process was painless. I do wish they had explained ever so slightly better one thing in the process but live and learn. I also did turn ever-so-slightly orange despite using the lightest setting, but seriously, I’m so white that it’s impossible for me not to turn slightly orange. It did fade to normal after my swim the next day. I have nothing else to compare it to but all in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back post-wedding stuff if I ever did want some slight fake color. I’d just go two days in advance but then again, I’m super-white.
