Went there last night, onion rings were good, burger was just okay(too much mayo!) but the kid meal was awful, both the shoe string fries and chicken tenders were cold and HARD. Plus no toy and only ‘Bug Juice’ to drink? Yuck. The drive thru signage was difficult to read and the microphone to order barely worked. Wanted to support local, but NOTHANKS.

I really don’t know anything about this place except for where it is! I tried it and loved it and the next day I was back again!!!

Excellent new-to me– fast food joint. I had 3 huge juicy succulent chicken strips with okra, fried. My friend had a HUGE double cheese burger that was served so hot it took her a bit to start to eat it. Not complaining at all just enjoying the freshness of the meal!!! We will be back to enjoy the daily specials.

We ordered the chicken tenders and chicken sandwich. Took them ages to make! And the fries they gave us was cold! They need to invest in a microphone so when they call out your number, you can hear them. Some of the employees seemed like they didn’t know what was going on. We only came here cause mr. Sushi was closed.

Chicken was tender. Fries were good. Fresh made. Friendly service. Only caveat the fried food was a bit greasy, but hey, it’s fried food.

Throw together KFC and Steak & Shake= Burgers and chicks… I was less than impressed I got the spicy chix, which consisted of a chicken patty and a odd sauce on a bun. Cheap but not so tasty.

My chicken fingers were so hot I couldn’t touch them for 5 minutes. Mac N’ Cheese was watery and tasteless. It was clean and the service was good.

Wife and I went there with my daughter and her boyfriend. The Good: –Staff was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. –Dining room was clean, though trash cans were practically overflowing. –Burgers were tasty and not dried-out. Fried Okra was good. The bad: –The fries were cold by the time we got them. –The rolls were rock-hard. –The shakes lacked flavor, as if there wasn’t enough chocolate/strawberry in them. Overall, not bad. Although, I’ve had food that was more fresh in a McDonald’s. I might try them again, but it’s not someplace I would go often at this point.

Burgers & Chicks in the Northland is a gargantuan greasy spoon with an acumen for making creative and tasty burgers(and some chicken strips and even some fish)… and I’m okay with it. The burgers come with a good amount of different themes and different toppings. The staff is nice enough that I bet if you wanted to build your own they’d let you. While you’re at it feel free to add some fries or onion rings for your side. I will say that the size of your meal will test your belt. The burgers are big so don’t feel bad if you have to ask for a box and take some home for later. They also pack quite the flavor so you might want to stock up on napkins. The dining area could have used a little TLC. It was a little dirty and looked like it could use a nice scrub(cue the North KC jokes.) It wasn’t super bad, but you could tell the area had been that way for a bit and it was a bit run down. I hope in the near future that it gets a bit of an upgrade and a facelift because I think that could help the atmosphere and also help my chances of stopping by a little more regular.

I did go back and ordered the burger with an egg. Surprised as I am not a guy that puts weird stuff on a burger. Fries this time and they were y kinda fries. Hot and fresh. GOODJOB!

A diamond in the north! Fresh burgers, made to order out of this joint. I’ve had the Quaked Out burger which features a fried egg on top. The egg wasn’t as over easy as I’d hoped for, but still a delicious option. I also opted for the Rhythm and Blues which is a blue cheese, bacon burger and was absolutely delicious. The fries I was served were not of the skinny as the menu describes; however, that is a plus for me since I prefer the larger sized fries. They were very busy when I went and about a third of the people were ordering the fried chicken and about a third were ordering the fish, so I’m guessing they are both tasty options, but I have yet to break away from their burger menu. The staff were nice and pleasant. Took my order and said thank you multiple times — that’s cool. The only negative is a slight wait, but as has been said before for fresh made burgers a little wait is ok.

Who would have thought that a small drive through place would be this good? First off, they make everything fresh to order. I have had their burgers, fish and sides. The burgers are big and juicy. The veggies on them are fresh. All in all a good flavorful burger. The fish fillets are HUGE, moist and very flavorful. The sides are all good too. The mac and cheese, though tasty doesn’t taste made on premises, but it’s still worth a go. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The value is also great. For the quality, the prices could be higher. They share the parking lot with Mr. Le’s Sushi. Is this corner becoming Food Nirvana? Could be!

Service was slow. Meet was dry. Bun was dry. Fries were overcooked. Drinks were a large. Would not recommend this place.

Burgers are 5 stars, everything else about a 2. The burgers are 100% Angus Beef and they taste like it. I had one with a fried egg, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The bun was soft but not overwhelmingly big, which to me is a turn off. Toppings were just right. Burger was perfectly cooked with beefy flavor and just enough«juices» running out. The rest of the experience was below average. The restaurant lacked overall cleanliness and for the short amount of time it has been opened, paint was peeling off some spots. I had a side of Mac and cheese that tasted like it was from the lunch line at the state pen, so bland and flavorless, the cheesiness was runny as water. The self proclaimed«epic» onion rings were okay. The serving size was small and the onions very fat. The good thing was they apparently weren’t fried in the same oil as the fries. The fries simply sucked. Tasted like they were fried in old oil and they came out somewhat cold as if they had been sitting under a warmer for a while. Another pet peeve, fries need to be fresh and hot. If they only served burgers this place would rock. That and only that gives it 2.5 stars. Oh well, looks like a one night stand for me and this chick.

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. There were a lot of people already here eating and waiting so I was a little surprised it was that busy at 11:45am. I heard of this place a long time ago from my coworkers but never got around to try it. This place was bright and small. Their menu had a good amount of food and I didn’t know what to get. After a few minutes, I decided on the #1 Quacked Out Burger Combo($ 6.99) and made it a medium for 60 cents more which totaled to $ 8.36. I opted for the fries as well. That combo sounded good because it had eggs and bacon in the burger. We waited about 10 minutes before our food was ready. The Quacked Out Burger was delicious! I liked it and would recommend that if you don’t know what to order. The fries were pretty tiny but there was a good amount. The medium-sized drink was pretty huge so I got my money’s worth in my opinion. I was satisfied with my food and would come back to try other menu items.

DONOTCOMEHERETOEAT. Service: Good Place: Typical fast food joint, dirty and stank Food: appalling. I got the most popular burger there rec’d by the staff, but it was terrible food. If the locals think this place is a good place to eat, giving it 3 stars or more, there’s a serious problem here and frankly worrisome about the lack of palatable taste buds. There onion rings mind as well been served with a cup of lard, since my onion rings were«dripping» of ample amounts of grease, you could literally drink the fat at the bottom of the basket. If you’re into that and not worried about cardiovascular disease and obesity, by all means please do dine here.

Shout out to all the Filipinos out there, this place has gravy that tastes just like Jollibee(a famous Filipino Fried Chicken Chain Restaurant), which in turn makes the fried chicken quite delicious! My only gripe is that I didn’t bring a Tupperware full of rice! I love my fried chicken paired with rice with gravy poured on top, that’s the way that it is served at Jollibee, which you can find in California, Vegas, Texas, and of course back in my home country of the Philippines. Ok, now let me explain why I just had to give this place 5 stars! Upon arriving in the parking lot, I immediately knew this place would live up to the hype, because of how packed this place was inside and through the drive thru! The workers here have such vibrant attitudes and made me laugh so many times. It was a great atmosphere to be especially since the weather has been so frigid lately. The place is obviously brand new and clean all around. The menus are on LCD screens and there were plenty of workers that ensured your food would be out in a jiffy! I ordered the 2 piece fried chicken(leg & breast) for about $ 3.50, mashed potatoes, and onion rings(each about $ 1.50 for a small side). The fried chicken was to die for! The skin was coated with a perfect crunch and the whatever they seasoned it with, exploded in my mouth and sent my taste buds on cloud nine! The chicken was ridiculously juicy and cooked thoroughly, none of that uncooked pink patches that can be sometimes seen if not cooked properly. The star of this place for me was their gravy. Without that gravy that chicken wouldn’t have been as good. Mashed potatoes tasted real and not boxed; The onion rings were plentiful and huge. I also loved how nice the workers there was when I asked for a side of gravy. I was expecting to pay extra, just like KFC or other places that charge extra for gravy, but was surprised to get it for free and in a huge cup! Generosity at fast food joints is rare these days! My partner in crime got the special of the day, which was a fish sandwich with fries and a drink for $ 4.99. Great price for such a great tasting sandwich, none of that frozen fake fish patties like Mcdonalds… that is if they even use real fish, haha. You would think that we would be full, but I just had to try their apple pie. At the counter they had a freshly baked pie on display. I ordered the ala mode version of it for a little over $ 2, a bargain for what we got. They gave us a huge slice and also offered to heat it up which I took them up on, since I love my desserts warm! They topped it off with vanilla ice cream and it was all like a dream from there on. Each bite melted in my mouth. It was a great juxtaposition of dining, first class dessert in a fast food restaurant… who woulda thunk it that they would have such a decadent dessert! Flaky crust and fresh apples… YUM! I will definitely come back here again… and again… and again. So dangerous! And… if I want a break from this place, I can just walk over to Mr. Le’s sushi and get some phở or sushi, or may I could just get rice to go and walk back to this place. haha I am crazy, but man was I a very satisfied customer coming out of there! Props to the manager who went around to each table, asking how our meal was. This is definitely not like no other fast food joint in all of Kansas City. Top notch service and food. Can’t beat that! Happy Eating!

The wait is OVER! Burgers & Chicks is open today! See the article in the KC Star online at the link below. Our family visited today during their grand opening. BnC is a new fast food restaurant that is in the old KFC/A&W location in the Holiday Hills Shopping center in front of Macaluso’s Thriftway. I did not think enough to look for hours of operation on the door, so not sure. Will update later. Burgers & Chicks serves, you guessed it, burgers and fried chicken. They also have fried catfish and an assortment of specialty baskets(and a fried egg sandwich which I will have to try). We ordered an assortment of items. Burgers, chicken, mac & cheese, fried, fried ocra, onion rings. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! We ordered way too much as we were trying to sample a bit of everything and went home stuffed. We will have to go back and sample the fried catfish, shakes, and desserts. The restaurant was busy and as you can expect on opening day, there was a bit of a wait getting our food. They also have a drive through so it was busier than just the lobby traffic. All the employees were super friendly and attentive to the customers needs. Several times while we were eating, there were employees coming through asking how the food was, cleaning tables and restocking the condiments. I attached a few photos, including a shot of the take home menu. Stop on in and get something to eat.
