Specialties

Sugaring hair removal is an eco-​friendly and less painful alternative to waxing. The sugar is an all natural paste made of sugar, water and lemon. It is not hot, does not stick to live skin and will not lift or burn client’s skin. The paste is molded on skin in opposite direction of hair growth, seeps in to hair follicle and removes the hair from the root. We are able to get stubborn, short hair and are able to go over areas more than once. The paste is water soluble and very easy to clean up, no sticky residue. Also, no double dipping so it is extremely sanitary. Less ingrown hairs and great for skin sensitivities.

Custom airbrush tanning is a fast, safe and effective way to obtain a beach glow. The practitioner uses an airbrush gun to spray every inch, contouring every curve and leaving your skin beautifully bronzed. The active ingredient takes 6 – 8 hours to develop.

Ashley is originally from Lenexa, KS. She moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to go back to school for Esthetics. She worked for Studio Alexandria LA, a sugaring salon, where she mastered her trade and also became an educator for Alexandria Professional. She moved on in her career in 2013 and became an independent contractor for a salon owner, Sugarlips Esthétique, focusing on sugaring hair removal. In November of 2013 opened her own airbrush tanning business, Bronze Bar. She decided to relocate back to KS in December 2015. Nobody in the Kansas City area was offering sugaring hair removal and she knew in her bones that this wonderful service that is all the rage in Los Angeles would be a great success in Kansas City!

Fast, professional, and thorough. While this is the kind of service you want at any salon, it’s particularly on-​point when somebody is waxing your nether regions. Let’s compare this to a traditional wax:
–This took less than 10 minutes
–Some areas are more immediately painful, but very short-​lasting
–Results were fantastic: Completely smooth, no strays, no tweezing, no redness or bleeding, though there is mild tenderness for a few hours afterwards
–No remaining wax or stickiness afterwards: This was the most surprising
–Price is about the same, or slightly less if you book ahead for your next visit

Came here with the groupon deal and it’s hands down less painful than waxing! It also helps that Ashley is pretty darn fast, so if it is painful it doesn’t last long. My experience was soo much better than I had expected that I ended up purchasing a package of 3 more sugar waxes! Definitely recommend trying the sugar wax services!

Ashley is really as good as it gets! She is my Sugar Queen!!! I decided to get sugared on a whim because I was totally rocking a 70’s situation and it.was.not.cute. Naturally I was super awkward, sweaty, and chatty as hell when I showed up but Ashley calmed me down, chatted with me to help distract me and then in less than 10 minutes it was over. I’m not going to lie and say there isn’t pain involved but when you have «tree trunks» being pulled from your body it’s gonna be a painful BUT holy cow was it worth it. I KEPT COMING BACK FOR MORE! It got less painful each time and it also took less time, too! Her salon was ALWAYS clean, uncluttered and stylish. I was so sad to find out that Ashley would be leaving LA to become a Sugar Queen in Kansas City but amazing things were going to come from it. I am so happy that I randomly decided to get sugared because its been one of the best things ever. Even if you don’t get your lady parts sugared and are getting other things taken care of, you won’t be disappointed. Ashley is so sweet, funny, welcoming, kind, and wonderful that you’ll just want to chat with her and see her more often. Gosh, I freaking adore this girl and miss her cheery attitude! XO

I had been going Ashley for all my sugaring needs on a monthly basis for the past 2+ years. Previous to this I had never waxed and I told that to Ashley and she was very comforting about it all. I even moved from where I was previously living, which made it a drive to her studio, but I knew I couldn’t go anywhere else! Her skills were definitely worth the drive in LA traffic! I started sugaring with Ashley almost a year ago. She was highly recommended as a person to get my first sugaring from because she is «fast and very good». Because of Los Angeles traffic and the distance I have to drive to get to her, it was suggested I go to Ashley for my first sugaring, and continue maintenance appointments somewhere closer to home.
Ashley is very good at what she does. She is always professional and friendly. Sugaring is an intimate (and intimidating) procedure, and Ashley puts you at ease. Her studio is always impeccable and comfortable. You will be very happy with your results and happy you chose Ashley. By the way, I never looked for a closer sugaring studio, I continued to drive the distance monthly, and am sad that she is relocating. It will be tough finding a comparable replacement.

When it comes to sugaring (hair removal) and spray tanning, Ashley is seriously the BEST! I have been coming to Ashley for sugaring for a while. Previously I used to get Brazilian waxes and a a friend told me about Ashley and sugaring. She came with a high recommendation — it was well deserved.
The first time I went, I was a little skeptical but Ashley explained the process and maintenance. Her salon is clean, welcoming and stylish! She really cares about her clients and salon — all of the details are there. She’ll even let me know when she has a money saving deal coming up. Ashley is amazing, she sends appointment reminders, and the appointments are so fast and painless! I’m always stunned and happy about the time I save going to her! Literally the appointments are only like 10 min!
I will never go back to waxing. She is sooooo good! She always does an amazing job. I always come out so smooth. Ashley has become such a big part of my maintenance routine. I’m a loyal client and would recommend her to anyone!!!

I used to be a long time client of Ashley’s in Los Angeles and of course was sad when she left but I am excited that she gets to introduce KC to her awesome sugaring technique as well as airbrush tanning! She really is and has been the only person I trust with spray tans and hair removal. She makes sure you are comfortable and completely happy with the results! I also have to say that after sugaring I will never go back to waxing, it’s more effective (no getting burnt by hot wax and using strips), lasts longer, is quicker, and is eco friendly. Congrats Kanas City on getting the best tanning and sugaring girl on the west coast! I will be needing to make a trip to KC soon!
