Annual Local Liquid Poker Tournament: Charity: Clear10

I was so excited to take part in the charity poker tournament, for the first time, this year! Food, drinks, friends and fun! Everything was local… food, prizes, people. There were even a couple big shot poker players who have won at the Super Bowl (errrrrr…World Series) of Poker in Vegas (World Series of Poker), who were very down to earth.
2012 was held at Boulevard Brewery, and they served all their great brews, plus there were some local wines, as well as delicious Clear10 Vodka! YUMMM! Wonderful (almost hot) Old Shawnee Pizza was served, plus some cupcakes by a local company (sorry, don’t have the card handy).
The money you pay to participate goes to charity, which in 2012 was Children’s Mercy: Cancer. Many, MANY companies generously donated prizes, including a great COACH purse, rounds of golf, food, drink, and top level… VIP party and entries to the Big Slick KC tournament held by local boys made into movie stars (Jason Sudekis, Paul Rudd, and Rob Riggle). Lots of other prizes, like bottles of Clear10 for pocket 10s that won, golf putting contest prizes. They raised over $ 7K this year, which was a great number (in my opinion) for around 60 players.
Remember it’s a charity poker tournament, and the dealers were not the quality of casino dealers or other professional dealers; *most* of them were very sweet and appreciated your assistance. The young man from Columbia/​Panama was wonderful and tried really hard and never made any mistakes that were egregious or unable to be fixed easily.
Ron from Clear10 was amazing. I didn’t get to interact with many other members of the leadership, but I think he’s a ‘clear’ example of this event and his company. Impressive!
I’m looking forward to next year!
