I read some of these reviews here and was quite reluctant to go to Randy’s Auto in Kaneohe. However, the quote they gave me was quite good, and my gut instinct about Ty (the mechanic that would look after my car) felt like he was being honest with me over the phone. He told me (without yet seeing my car) up front that if there are unforeseen problems, for example like rusted pieces that were hard to remove and needed to be cut off, that the price may rise due to extra labor, but if there would be, he would let me know before continuing with the job. So I took the leap of faith, and let Ty take care of my car. I received my car back the same afternoon — Ty replaced both the slave and master of the hydraulics/​clutch. He delivered as promised, and the quote was as originally stated… $ 360.
I would like to also say that there was a voucher on the website for $ 25 that I had, but while in a hurry I forgot to give it to them when I picked up my car and paid. I called Max in the office the next morning, and he quickly told me he would honor the $ 25 and issued me a refund for that + tx. I was pleasantly surprised at this great service!
I can only say that I am glad I followed my gut feeling and went with them. My car was fixed quickly, and the overall quote was more than $ 100 less than another quote I had received.
I felt really good about Ty and Max and the honest and fast service they both delivered. I would for sure take my car back there again!

I take my car here often. Whenever there’s a funny noise, whatever. I’ve always had quick and courteous service. Never disappointed in the work I receive. The mechanic here is very thorough and always makes sure I get the best price on the parts I need.
Unlike other reviews I’ve read, when you’re having an electrical/​engine issue I’ve never expected them to do an evaluation for free. I don’t know where they have been going, where a place of business doesn’t charge for the labor that needs to be done. To me, these other bad reviews seem to be because the work that needed to be done was more extensive than they wanted to pay for. But that’s just my opinion.
All I know is that this is the only place I trust with my car. Never felt like they were trying to pull a quick one like other places I’ve been. I recommend all to go here.

Same experience as Lin’s from 14 days ago. It had been awhile since I had been here. Thought Randy was fare & reasonable. Aside from having items stolen from my car, which Randy made an effort to replace, I had no problem with this shop. That is not until my last experience which probably has more to do with the resident mechanic. I felt he was running a scam on us. Took my car in to get an estimate for repair. We did not authorize to disassemble or repair anything. Nor was I told there would be an estimate fee. Was later told the car would cost $ 1300 to get it get it moderately working. Having decided this was not worth spending, I informed them I would be by to get car. Upon which I was told some disassembly was done & there would be a charge to put it back. If this does not smell of a con, I don’t know what is. A good mechanic is indeed hard to fine, but won’t find it here.

Fast, courteous, honest…

Simply the best honest clean fast after when Windward Honda gave us a quote of $ 4000 to repair our CRV Randy looked at the car and it was only $ 550,honesty!

These guys are great! Honest, efficient & keep you in the loop the whole way. Before they repaired, they explained what was wrong, what they would do to fix it & gave me a cost estimate… all you could hope for! And quick like… yea! As I travel for my job & need my vehicle. Definitely recommend them.

I won’t trust anyone but these guys with my car. They were fantastic about keeping me involved in what exactly was going on with it. They even invited me to look underneath the car and explain exactly what was wrong. Considering i don’t know how a car works or what they regularly need i’ve been ripped off countless times. I went to 3 different shops for the same noise before i went to Randy’s …It only took them maybe 2 hours at most to finish my car. I was a bit skeptical when i was walking back from the mall (considering my previous experiences). But they had all the parts they took off my car in the box that the new ones came in. We went around the block together and Jimmy really helped me understand what had been making that god-​forsaken sound. My car has been running noise-​free since!
