I’m not out at windward Oahu very often but when I do go, the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center is now my favorite mall. There is a huge Longs Drugs, Safeway, my favorite restaurant that has 3 locations on Oahu — Ichiriki, and even a BYOB Japanese restaurant called Kenko-Ya. This mall is right off Kamehameha Highway which makes access very easy. They also have a huge parking lot. It is definitely my choice for shopping on that side of the island. My favorite thing is to go to Safeway to pick up a bottle of vodka or whiskey and sometimes even a mixer and walk over to the Japanese restaurant, Kenko-Ya, only about 1 minute walk away. My only complaint would be restroom facilities. I don’t think the mall has any standalone restroom facilities but just in the door to the left in Safeway or all the way around the back behind the Japanese restaurant. Other restaurants like Ichiriki have them inside the restaurant, of course. Definitely check out this mall when you are in windward Oahu.

Very clean and pleasing to the eye, this srrip mall has all the convenience one could ask for. With Walgreens and Safeway as anchors, my credit union and Starbucks are like frosting on a cake! With the recent additions of Petco, Brick Oven Pizza and Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, this shopping center is the bomb!

This shopping center is definitely a mixed bag. There are some good stores, there are some bad stores and there are some in the middle. On the good side, I’d include Long’s drug, which is where I get my prescriptions and where they’re always pretty good and friendly, and an outstanding restaurant, Ichiriki, which serves the very best sukiyaki and shabu-shabu in Oahu. Now on the bad side, the worst store I’ve ever been in is Safeway. Their shelves are pretty full of lots of things, but I can’t say they have anything more than anywhere else, and some of their stuff isn’t great at all. They do have great and very nicely displayed produce, and that would, to me, be their only good side. On the bad side is their customer service. Once, when they were new, they tried to be helpful and even tried to learn a customer’s name. Now, however, you are more likely to be treated badly than well, and in some cases you can count on being treated rudely! On my last(and I DEFINITELY mean last!!) visit I was given very nasty answers by a meat market worker who said«whatever!» in a rude manner when I asked if they had a product I needed, and when I went to check out, the«employee» there looked at me as if I had just crawled out from under a rock and went out of her way to leave her station to hug and«talk story» with her friends while a long line of customers waited, some patiently and others(like me) impatiently. I do not need this kind of behavior and you can bet your bottom dollar I will NOT go there again. I had been subjected to rude and uncaring service before and had boycotted the place for several years before thinking I’d give them another try. Well, let me tell you it will be a VERY long time before I set foot in this place again. AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS! The Times market a few blocks away is much better. And CHEAPER also! Other than that, I would say that you can get most of the things you need at this shopping center, as long as you stay away from Safeway.

I’m here often, so often because it has almost everything I ever need. Groceries, pharmacies, gas, food, coffee, pet stuffs, banking, jewelry, phone stuffs, vitamins, car stuffs, ice cream, and I can go on and on and on. What it doesn’t have is a really cute boutique. Doesn’t matter what kind of boutique; baby, women’s men’s, hats, scarves, and I can go on and on and on about that too. It just doesn’t have one. Which is probably because Windward Mall is right across the street. But if this place had a boutique it would be cover all shopping center. Unfortunately, this place isn’t on Kaneohe Bay. You can’t even see Kaneohe Bay from this shopping center. But Kaneohe Bay is very close by. This is the last shopping center on Kamehameha Hwy before you hit Laie. So stock up here if you’re heading to the North Shore.

Definitely my most visited shopping center in Kaneohe. It has a Safeway, Longs, and Walgreens. There is also a good selection of eateries. Unlike Windward City Shopping Center, Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center is more updated. There’s also more of a variety of eating places from Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and local food. This shopping center has the following eateries. Kenko-Ya(Japanese) Phở My Vi(Vietnamese) L&L(Local Food) Panda Express(Chinese) Subway Tasty Koren BBQ(Korean) Cold Stone(Ice Cream) Jamba Juice Starbucks There’s also a Fed-Ex Kinko’s type store along with a O’Reilly auto & Goodyear. The parking lot is also a lot more customer friendly where the stalls aren’t tight.
