Value Place is sort of a hidden gem many people don’t know about(or haven’t tried), but it’s also a «gem» with a few flaws. First of all, where else could you find a hotel for $ 189 per week? And for that matter, find one at that price that is safe and clean? Pretty much no where. That is why Value Place is such a life saver. The rooms are very sparse(no decorating really) but clean. There is not daily maid service, but if you are staying there awhile the maid comes bi-weekly and, of course, before you move in. The fact they have kitchenettes save quite a bit of money, but there is not an oven– just a microwave, fridge, stovetop and sink. The bathrooms are very simple but clean. The staff is friendly but the desk is only open during the day, and Monday — Saturday. They have a night«security guard» but I’m not sure what he actually does. The building is secure. You need a keycard to even get into the hallway. Here are the flaws: 1. For anything«extra» or «missing» they charge a fortune. For example, we accidentally took one of their plastic hangers when we left. They charged us $ 10 for it. Also, if you want to rent a coffee pot or pots and pans it will be $ 30 – 50. 2. There are a few questionable people there. Don’t get me wrong, most of them are just normal middle class folks but there are some dodgy people who are staying there. They don’t bother you at all, and there isn’t any danger, but it just reminds you that you aren’t in any luxury hotel.
