Four Points by Sheraton Kalamazoo

I only stayed here for less than 12 hrs but for the cleanliness, staff service, location, hot breakfast buffet (even if coffee costs additional $ 3), restaurant and bar area, and the well maintained lobby… I would definitely consider staying here again if I am in the area.

My husband, 10 month old, and myself stayed here for a wedding we were attending nearby.
The reservation was simple to make and was able to get us a good rate on a room with a king bed.
Upon check in, we were given a room on the 3^rd floor.
Took the elevator, which was tiny and claustrophobia-​inducing. We arrived at our assigned room and tried both keys repeatedly… until someone opened the door. Apparently they had already given that room to someone else who arrived shortly before us. Thankfully our keys didn’t open their door.
We went back down to the lobby and were given a different room, which was unoccupied.
The room was very small, the bathroom was tiny. I had to look behind the bathroom door to recognize the fact that there was, indeed a bath tub/​shower.
Other than that, the room was decent enough. It appeared clean. The bed was very comfortable, at the very least; we slept well.
We ordered room service for breakfast, which was about $ 30 for 3, orange juice, and a pot of coffee.
The breakfast was surprisingly good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, lots of food for the amount of money, they had large potatoes which were a nice change from greasy hash browns that most hotels seem to offer. A good amount of bacon with each tray, as well. The coffee was STRONG. I like my coffee strong and this was probably twice as strong as I’d usually drink coffee. Good, just strong.
Other than that, our stay was uneventful.
If the price matched the quality of the hotel, I’d consider staying there again. But for $ 40 less we could have stayed at the holiday inn next door and probably had a larger, nicer room.

Work trip, Four Points was a nice upgrade from the weekend before when my cheap *** employer put me up in The Red Roof across the way. I was relieved to see a clean, mostly upgraded room with nice white linens. Staff was friendly, restaurant on site.

We are here for the 2016 Synchronized Ice Skating Championships and staying at the Four Point Sheraton. Overall impression is below average. Lobby is open and fairly clean. Renovations are noted. Staying in room with 2 queen beds. Room is narrow, bathroom a little tight. Sucks that only the rooms with king sized beds have refrigerators. What a dumb idea! Usually family with children require refrigerators but obviously the hotel isn’t children/​family friendly.
Wintery advisory warning with snow accumulation of 3 – 6 inches and windy but the hotel would not allow us to order in (pizza) for our girls. Rather have us buy from their unopened restaurant or drive out in the snow and eat out. Totally displeased with those options.
You would think management would a bit flexible with the weather issue but the management only cares about profit rather than their tenants.
Our other team stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and they understood our predicament and welcomed outside food. Very disappointed at the Four Points Kalamzoo. Will not be staying here end of the year for the Kick Off 2016 Synchro Competition.

Clean, quiet and convenient. We stayed here while in town for a soccer tournament and were very pleased with the accommodations. Rooms are typical Sheraton quality with good linens and great mattresses. Breakfast with both hot and cold choices was good, but not great… adequate for fueling up for the morning, but don’t be expecting a fancy meal.
There was some pretty serious road construction going on that made the surrounding traffic patterns a little confusing. And the fact that the hotel sits a little bit back from the road made finding the front door slightly difficult.
We picked up someone at another hotel to go out to dinner one night, and we are convinced… if we have to return next year, we definitely will be returning back to the Sheraton!

The Four Points in Kalamazoo is a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. If your stopping by for the night or staying longer, you can’t go wrong at the Four Points. If you are lucky enough to get Val at the front desk you will have a story to tell. She is very out going and will make your check in fast and painless. She is absolutely great. The rooms are always clean and quite. Stay in for a drink or a bite to eat in the bar. The staff will keep the drinks full and the food hot. I have been lucky enough to spend over a year in and out at the Four Points and have never been let down. The free WiFi is strong and fast. Stop by my friends at the Four Points in Kalamazoo tell them I said hi.

Nice hotel, clean, modern. Great breakfast options. Friendly staff. We stayed here for work. I woke feeling rested. Beds were very comfy. I’m very pleased with SPG!

This pet-​friendly hotel is a short-​drive (less than 2 miles) to Wing Stadium. I decided to stay for a night after being in Kalamazoo Saturday afternoon, but attending the hockey game the next day.
Room was neat and tidy, and the bed was firm King-​Size bed. My only knock is that the curtains were not thick enough and the drapes did not close all the way. I was so tired, though that I slept right through any parking lot lights.
Nice little restaurant just off the lobby ran happy hour special, which hit the spot. Check-​in was one of the fastest I’ve experienced, which was perfect. Why stay here when you can save yourself at least $ 40 just down the road? For me, having carpeted floors during cold months is a huge plus.

About what I expected. Room was clean, decent fitness room, free wifi. A bit higher in price than I typically would pay for Four Points but not too high. Hallways look a bit tired, will need an update in the next few years. Minimal interaction with staff, check in was quick.

First thing I noticed was how friendly the staff is. Room was nice and the hotel was clean. I was happy that they accepted my UKC Champion dog — which makes sense for them as there are many dog shows throughout the year. (UKC is based in Kalamazoo.)
Kalamazoo itself I would skip if possible. Go here for conventions and get out quick.

This place is nicest around to stay and done in conveniently. Very clean and friendly service. Very nice dinning options for the hotel this far from civilization.
The room is also very nice and enjoyable.

We stayed here for the UKC Premier Dog Show and the hotel room was very clean and updated. The staff was courteous. I would stay here again. This is a dog friendly hotel. We didn’t use the pool or the restaurant, but did get room service and it was just fine.

The beds here are like sleeping on clouds. The coffee is not typical watered down gross free morning coffee. It has some flavor to it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Free local craft beers on Wednesday nights is a big bonus too!
I highly recommend staying here above the Holiday Inn across the parking lot (gross).

Just check into the hotel, really nice. Went down to the restaurant here. Food was amazing! I recommend the chili burger! Great food and better service. Well done.

Our best hotel experience in Kalamazoo. Friendly service and a super comfortable room. Great for dog visitors (although there is a fee) and a 24 hour gym. Will stay again.

We stayed here as a group for a skating competition at the Wings rinks. I wish it looked like the pictures above with sunshine and green grass, but instead we got a snow storm and wind.
Check-​in was super easy and they were happy to split our bill among the four people staying in our room. We had two queen beds that might have been the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The room itself was ample in size and I like the design of the bathroom.
Staff were super friendly and there was always complimentary coffee available in the lobby in the mornings. There are also ample seating areas if you wanted to gather but not in the restaurant/​bar area.
I’m deducting a star for the lack of sound proofing and for the restaurant and bar area.
Sound wise, not only could I hear every word spoke by the man in the room beside ours (bet he was glad to be beside us too), but every door slams shut and shakes the room/​bed every time. I mainly blame our group for this one, and our good ‘ol 5am wakeup calls, but there has to be a better way for a door to close and to add a little extra something in the walls.
We had drinks the Thursday we arrived and our server was definitely new to the bar side. Drinks were not her specialty and the chocolate cakes our table ordered were still a bit frozen and not delicious. These were graciously removed from our bill after noticing that little was eaten. The buffet breakfast in the mornings is a good deal at $ 10 but again, service was spotty. There are limited restaurants surrounding the hotel and so I would recommend venturing outside of the hotel neighbourhood if you can.
Overall, the beds and general service would bring me back to a Four Points hotel. The rates are very reasonable and overall the property is well maintained and updated.

We arrived at around 9 p.m. to check in for our weekend-​long excursion of southwestern Michigan’s breweries and wineries. No matter, the front desk checked us in relatively quickly and accommodated our request to have a room adjacent to our friends. Little touches like that make me feel like they care about making their customers happy. I have found that I get poorer service occasionally when I book through a travel site, but that certainly was not the case for us on our stay. We booked for about $ 110 per night and found it to be a terrific deal.
Rooms were nicely-​sized, beds were comfy, our room was made-​up promptly (and another free bottle of water was left behind.)
The gym is nice, as is the pool (I used neither, my focus was on beer and wine for the weekend!), and the lobby and hallways were kept clean. Parking is complimentary.
I would definitely stay here again.

Front desk staff were amazing. Rooms were clean and neat. Recently remodeled maybe? Housekeeping was great.
But…
Hotel bar and restaurant were a JOKE!
The kitchen was out of many different items on their menu. They and the LONE server could not handle anything bigger than a table of one. Food came out one dish at a time. At our table of six, the first couple were done eating before the last couple got their food.
The food was bland.
The breakfast buffet was nasty, not taken care of. Food was cold, overcooked.
Visited the bar (they were advertising drink specials) and was given the extreme pleasure of paying five bucks for a beer that would have been maybe three anywhere else.

Well, it wasn’t awful. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and the rooms were a good size. The Clarion is a good hotel if you want to feel like you’re not staying in an inexpensive hotel.
That said, there is a difference. There’s no restaurant per se and absolutely no bar (did you hear me business travelers? I said NO BAR.).
Most of the décor was pretty nice but I do take offense to the super-​cheap plastic ceiling tile and plastic wood grain elevators. Okay, I’m off my snob-​box.
It’s nice to have a few dining options within walking distance and that really isn’t the case here. There is an Italian restaurant near but that’s the only place you’re likely to be able to walk — otherwise, you’ll be driving. This is probably a personal preference — I get it.
The experience was cumulative and unfortunately, this Clarion only accumulated 3 stars.

Made a web reservation just hours before arrival, and check in was easy. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. A current special offered a free breakfast, including oatmeal, waffles, and fresh fruit. A good experience and a good deal.
