Nori Kohana Massage Therapy

I have come here several times, by myself and with my husband. We have has different therapists and liked all of them. I am a massage therapist myself and have been for 15 years, have had countless massages and am very picky. My husband on the other hand is a bit shy when it comes to massages and it took some convincing to get him to go the first time around, however, this is one of his favorite places to go For relaxin now. I am grateful to have this place nearby and the prices are more than fair

Great folks, service, price, and parking is conveniently nearby. I have been coming here for over a year, and as of today, I will exclusively commit to coming here for the rest of my life! The convenience of booking online is easy, the rooms are always clean, and the quality of therapists are second to none… who are my favorites?

I had a massage with Rumi today and it was SERIOUSLY THE BEST massage I have ever had. It was the first time I had opted for the 90 minute massage and it was totally worth it, only $ 75.00! In the past I have paid more for a 60 minute massage. Rumi was incredibly professional and asked several times if I needed the pressure adjusted. I told her my problem areas and she focused on that, plus did an amazing job on the rest of my body. I will totally be back. I have had a hard time finding a good place for a masssage. I have tried several around Kailua and Kaneohe. This is definitely the best and I will be back.

I pass this place at least once a day. I always see their specials on the windows, but never thought of going in. I have had a few, not a lot, of massages, so it’s not like I was desperate to try it. That was until my therapist said I should. Ok, whatever the therapist says, I will try.
I walked in to make my appointment. I was visiting Chad Lou’s and just decided to walk over. Nori Kohana is located on the corner of Kihapai and Kainehe Streets in Kailua. They have their own designated parking lot. There are metered stalls in the area if the lot is full. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. I asked if I could please make an appointment and they quickly pulled up a schedule. They counter person asked if there were any specific issues that brought me in to get a massage. I gave her a brief history and told her that I didn’t mind having an intern work on me. (Interns are $ 30/​hour and massage therapists are $ 49/​hour.). They matched me up with Spirit (yes, that’s her name). I couldn’t wait!
Two days later, I was back. There were ample parking stalls in the lot. I walked in and was greeted by Spirit. Since I had already filled out a client sheet when I set up the appointment, I was taken to my massage room with no wait. Spirit then explained to me how she works and asked me some questions about me. She had read my sheet and knew of my concerns, so I appreciated not having to rehash everything again. Spirit stepped out and I got ready for my full body massage. She was wonderful! She gave the right amount of pressure, knew what spots to hit, and intuitively paid more attention to where I had particular problems. Spirit is AMAZING! Before I knew it, my hour was done. I was sore, but it was a lovely kind of sore. It’s like I knew some of the bad stuff I was carrying was gone.
When I went to check out, Spirit had some water ready for me. She knew I had my Hydro Flask, but I still thought it was kind to make sure I drank something before I left. (You should always drink a lot of water to purge the toxins released during a massage.). I was able to use a credit card to pay and leave tip using her Square Reader.

Just got an amazing massage here. I had a 1 hour gift certificate and made an appointment super quick and easy. Sara was my massage therapist and she was awesome. She did a great job and she applies lots of pressure to get the kinks out. Her hands do the trick. They offered me water before my massage and when I came out there was water waiting for me. They have parking right there for you and the rooms are peaceful and quiet. Definitely recommend and ask for Sara.

I got a great massage, and the people were very nice. I called about an hour before to see if they had availability and they got both my boyfriend and I in an hour later. The price was great for the quality of massage. Both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it! They have free parking and are easy to find.

I’m about to do something totally unusual. I am one of the owners of Island Massage Kailua. I suppose you could say we are a competitor, but we don’t feel it’s adversarial as we send people to her all the time when we don’t have availability.
Last week Brian Tow, the other owner who is also a therapist, hurt his back and the person he usually goes to was out sick. I know Nori can take last minute appointments so we booked with Wendy. Brian is a very good therapist so he knows what he likes and is picky about who he goes to. He came back saying that her massage was better then most who charge double.
That means a lot coming from him believe me!
We met Nori years ago before she expanded and love what she’s done. They offer low rates and are a much better option than places like Massage Envy. So good job Nori!

I went in thinking of getting a relaxing and somewhat deep tissue massage and was introduced to Kim. From the beginning I knew this wasn’t going to be my typical massage. She immediately pinpointed the areas of my body that had been bothering me and went to work. I knew I had a lot of tension and tight areas but she put me through the wringer! It was a painfully new insight on just how much I needed this. After leaving my «torture chamber» I felt invigorated, and relieved. I will definitely be back. Currently have visitors in town and nonstop rain, so decided to try this place out for the first time.
I had Amanda, who was really nice and gave me military discount (apparently not all of the therapists there offer this). I had A LOT of knots, so maybe she didn’t have enough time to get any out completely? But would definitely go back for longer.
I really appreciated the fact that the massage lasted the entire 60 minutes, unlike some other spas that gyp you for dressing down/​up.
Will be going back before I leave the island and would recommend!

Enjoyed my first experience at Nori Kohana with Sara as my masseuse. This morning I woke up with a severe stiff neck and luckily Sara was working today. She worked out the kinks with her strong and capable hands, yet was quite gentle at the most sensitive area on my neck. Long story short — I can turn my head side to side and the neck pain is much diminished. Mahalo nui Sara. (This is the only massage therapy shop I called and was able to take me in on the same day twice in a row. Nice!)

Pretty much, everyone else has touched on the logistics, décor and design of this place. It is conveniently located in Kailua with its own free parking. I became a regular since the expansion Noriko did a couple of years ago. The adjacent, long time beauty salon closed its doors and this small gem which was tucked away on the side, grew to its current state.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE — This is something that is misunderstood or simply misstated by either a business or the customer. However! If you are one who knows what the real meaning is, you have to visit and experience my massage specialist, KIM E. She is the real deal… Warning: This is not a spa mud wrap and steam soothing lotion massage by «Rub Me Rhonda» with Lavender infused oils, rather, it’s what you really called and asked for!
KIM E. provides a truly DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE. Her specialty customers are Athletes, Paddlers, and Body Builders! She can get deep into the tissues and muscles to reach the points where they begin well below the surface.
KIM E., is in fact, quite an athlete herself. She provides consistent pressure and strength, all the way, from beginning to end, in a 2 HOUR session. I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed, book now, KIM E. is in High Demand!

Shocking experience here. I love getting a good massage and get several throughout the year. I think this Island offers some especially healing and renaming massage options.
I had been here a few times and enjoyed the massages. The last time however was a nightmare! I’m not one to complain on Unilocal but I will if it’s serious and will save a person from a bad service or consumer experience.
I got a massage from Samara I believe. She asked what part of my body she should focus on and I told her my neck and I was ok with a little deeper tissue massage. Deep tissue can be great and I’ve gotten several great deep tissue massages throughout my life. It should never get to the point where you’re bruised it in severe pain. Ever. I trusted Nori Kohana so while I was literally wincing in pain during the massage, I assumed she knew what she was doing. Afterward, I thanked her and left. Again, I trusted the place and previously had ok experiences. I mean it’s a 49 dollar massage, but still ok.
In the 24 hours that followed the massage I was in such horrible pain in my neck. Everywhere she massages was internally contrived. I even went to the Dr and they evaluated me. Get this though! I called Nori and told her about my experiences and requested a refund. She was so unprofessional and snakelike exemplifying the worst communication skills and insulting me personally saying I wasn’t spiritual enough to understand massage or something lol. Umm, last time I che Jed you didn’t know one thing about me Nori! Im a teacher by trade and have a Masters degree… If there’s one thing I possess it’s great communication skills. So I tried to communicate feeling more and more violated after the fact.
In short, this is a ghetto massage place with a business owner who has no customer service values! Move out of Kailua Nori Kohana, you’re not welcome in this special town!
If you want a great massage here try Lomi Lomi Hanalima or Honu You. Both great options and full of aloha. If you want a shady place to provide a massage for 49 bucks, you’re going to get what you pay for.

Thoughtful gift from my husband: a massage gift certificate. I misplaced it & found it again just as preparing to move. Short on time, I asked if it could be transferred to a good friend who helped me during this busy time. I didn’t realize the fifty certificate had expired 3 months ago. The owner refused to extend the certificate at all — not even a day — even though I had never attempted to redeem. She wasn’t out a dime & didn’t seem concerned about my loss. Her reasoning for being inflexible was due to being a small business. Never mind that I’m the local resident supporting her small business! While I can’t comment on quality of services (I wish I’d had the opportunity!), I would like to caution those who are purchasing a gift certificate. Don’t expect any understanding unless it suits THEM.

Very relaxing place as soon as you walk in theres free cold bottled water thr rooms are extremly relaxing perfect temperature in everyone that i have been in havnt found a reason to complain about this place!

Wonderful place for a massage. It’s affordable and high quality. My wife had a massage by Samara this morning. She came out beaming. It was one of the best massages she has ever had.
The rooms are private and peaceful. Everyone is warm and relaxed. A great waiting room.
Was easy to book. You can book on their website, but I just called a few days in advance to ask for someone for my wife that could do deep tissue.
