Nelson’s Rooter & Drain Cleaning Service

We had a stubborn drain clog. When I called our regular plumber and he turned out to be off-​Island, he referred us to Nelson. I called him and someone was here in less than 30 minutes! The young man was fast, pleasant and effective. He cleaned up after his job. I have used some «big name» plumbers for this same problem in the past and have paid more than $ 200 for the same simple service. Nelson’s charge was $ 70.00! Great!

Where to start? We’ve been customers for about 5 – 6 years and while Nelson ran the business we had no problems at all. Unfortunately, his grandson seems to have taken over and the business has taken a nosedive. Although Nelson comes along for service calls to help teach him the ropes, the work is shoddy. When we call for a follow up (because the original job wasn’t done properly) they keep charging us anew.
The final straw? We had a leaky toilet fixed less than 6 months ago. It’s leaking again so we called… and called… and called. Each time we left a msg with someone or on the machine and no one has called back. So don’t bother wasting your time with this plumbing service — your money is better spent elsewhere.
