Aaron’s Dive is a gem if you are looking to dive in Oahu.
Trip #1: 2 tank day dive
Dive masters Sea Monkey and Jake along with Captain Garret were awesome and made our trip comfortable and entertaining. The dive had a good amount of different tropical fish, turtles and eels. Jake helped us get some awesome GoPro footage.
Trip #2: 2 tank night dive
The night dive was with dive master Leah and Captain Garret again at the wheel. This was a spectacular dive. First tank we saw loads of fish. However, the second tank stole the show. We saw a Spanish dancer swim off of the rock into the night. It was mesmerizing. Leah was awesome and was able to point out many things the three of us have not seen before. Thanks Aaron’s Dive crew !

Dive master Sea Monkey (Carston) certified my 3 teenagers and my wife. They had a great time and are becoming good divers. He gave them a strong base for our upcoming Australia trip. Leah took me and my other son down to the Corsair. She was fantastic. Funny and very competent. I highly recommend Aaron’s dive shop out of Kailua Hawaii.
PS I need to add that ALL the rental equipment is new and top quality. This is not the case at most shops I’ve rented from around the world.

Last weekend my husband and I went in to purchase some equipment. We live here; we told the sales associate that I have had a difficult time finding a mask that fits and the sales associate seemed confident that she could find one to fit. We purchased a mask along with several other pieces of equipment. We tried it out yesterday. Everything was perfect except for the mask. It leaked. My husband called today requesting to return the mask. The sales associate said that they do not accept returns and didn’t even offer to exchange the mask for another one. No one said the return policy and it is not on the receipt. Poor customer service; just looking to make a sale and not stand behind their product.

I just finished my open waters today with the team here and it was great even with the rough waters today. All very helpful and friendly. I appreciated how patient they were. Garrett our boat captain was awesome. I would highly recommend Warren’s team here.

I have been a member of Aaron’s Dive shop now for about four years I am sad to say that Friday February 12 was my first time diving with them. That said, of all the dive companies that I have gone with on the other islands or abroad, Aaron’s is the most professional, knowledgeable and personable. **Of note, I mostly do shore dives on Oahu where I live since I have all the proper gear to do so.** Whether you are filling tanks up, spending more money on gear that you most likely don’t need or asking about recommendations for shore dives, Aaron’s knock’s it out of the park each time. Maybe it’s because they have a Fire Team (-) of Marines working there.
I have purchased a large quantity of my of my gear there and I won’t have anyone else service it, but them. They never try on selling you the most expensive gear, but the best gear that fits your diving needs and bank. They are an ocean of knowledge of everything in their store and what is not in their store. Just ask them anything and they will dive in and help you. Ok, I am done with the puns.
Absolute must to give your business to them. Whether on holiday or you if you are a local, they will welcome you into the Aaron’s family!

I’ve never met such a professional group of folks. All the staff is very knowledgeable and you can feel the passion they have for diving and providing exceptional service.

Did my post-​certification dive with Aaron’s six years ago right after getting certified. Since then I’ve become a much better diver but Aaron’s is still too-​notch. They came heavily recommended from my local dive shop and I can see why. Pick-​up at the hotel was on time. Dive staff was friendly and helpful. Boat captain knowledgable and ran a tight ship. All around just as happy with these folks as I was the first time around. Just need to make sure six years doesn’t go by until my next dive.

I highly recommend Aaron’s Dive Shop and his owner, Warren. I just finished 4 days of diving and cannot say enough about the fun dives, friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable and great staff.
The crew was very accommodating in picking dive spots that catered to the divers wrt their skill set and interests. Our dive master was Jake who had expert knowledge about the sites and made sure everybody was comfortable all the time.
The rental equipment is of very good quality and very well maintained.
As a qualifier for the above review I add my dive experience: DM /​30 years of diving.

My son and I went out with the great folks at Aarons’s Dive Shop. I had dived more years ago that I want to admit to, and my son had not ever dived. The team at Aaron’s was great, you could not have asked for better service, and accommodations.
We had an exceptional day out on and in the water. The dive master and the rest of the crew made it a memorable experience.
Great store, with a good selection, and all at reasonable prices which says something about them considering it is on Oahu where everything is very pricey. I would recommend Aaron’s to anyone visiting the island. They more than deserve five stars!

Super professional, helpful and caring! I needed a dive watch for my 14 year old daughter who was going diving in the BVI. After searching every website imaginable and calling about 15 stores on the mainland, I was giving up hope on finding what I needed (her request was VERY particular). During a trip last July to Oahu for a business meeting, I was referred to Aaron’s by the concierge of my hotel.
The staff at Aaron’s was very patient and helped me select a watch that my daughter loved. She took it to the BVI and on the last few days of her trip, the buttons on the watch stopped working. I called Aaron’s to ask what I should do. The standard procedure was to deal with the Freestyle watch company and its bureaucracy. However, the manager at Aaron’s said I should just send the watch back to him and he would take care of it for me.
I have to say that as part of my search for a dive watch, I tried calling customer service at Freestyle. They were totally confused and unhelpful about their OWN PRODUCT (as was a lot of dive stores I tried before finding Aaron’s). So, I’m very pleased not to have to deal with the company directly, and appreciate Aaron’s for being so helpful.

Awesome experience with a great five operation. We went on an introductory dive instead of usual snuba
was a great experience! They took the time with each of us to demonstrate skills before the five. Fantastic experience!

Had the opportunity to dive 4 days with Aaron’s. it was a wonderful experience. From Warren, the owner to Jake, Shaun and the rest of the staff it was great top to bottom. I did not rent gear from them but would expect it to be outstanding. the shop was immaculate and well stocked with high quality gear. The supplied tanks on my dives were all perfect with full HP fills and no leaks. the Nitrox fills were the same and right on the requested 32 & 36%. Dove with them on two different boats they chartered. both were well equipped and comfortable in size. Easy to dive from with attentive crews. I decided to take the PADI Zombie Apocalypse Diver course from Shaun. it was way more educational and a better experience then I imagined. Very cool course for those interested in furthering their diver education.
If your on Oahu to dive or just vacationing and want to get certified I highly recommend this shop. you wont be disappointed.

Thanks Tim for arranging our large diverse group with last minute notice. The experienced divers in our group rank it as one of the top dives (juvenile Tiger Shark, Spotted Eagle Ray, 10+ turtles and the friendly octopus) Thanks Jake for this! The newbies in our group had great experience with Shawn and have a new love of our mighty ocean and will likely never eat octopus again after hanging with their new friend. I was referred to aarons dive shop by the staff of my local dive shop in Phoenix. I am a novice open water diver with only a few dives under my belt (not including all my cert dives). I recommend aarons, would dive with them again, my experience was great and my review is all positive.
I chartered a two tank boat dive using aarons dive shop website and the process was easy. They are one of the few shops that use a «live» booking calendar so you can see which types of bookings are available on which days. This feature made the booking much easier because there was no guess work involved and I knew exactly what I was paying for.
Aarons confirmed the booking via email and sent a reminder email the day before confirming the excursion selections. Aarons was nice enough to pick me up at my hotel with the other options being to meet at the shop or the dive site boat launch. Neither of these options (specifically hotel pick up incurred any extra cost)
Aarons sub contracts its dive excursions to local dive masters or master scuba diver trainers who own independent excursion LLC’s. This might scare some people but there is a core group of «employees» that become aarons regulars and the business behind the experience is not an issue.
Carsten «SeaMonkey» Kalkman, My MSDT, showed up early at my hotel and drove a company van loaded with gear to the site. The dive group only consisted of 4 people and one was a pro diver so the instructor/​student ratio was optimum.
Carsten was nice, respectful, and knowledgeable of his profession. He definitely made me feel comfortable gearing up and hopping in the water. His years of experience show and are evidenced in his pre dive briefings and by the way he leads his dives. All of the gear used was in good condition, and suitable for diving. I brought my own mask/​snorkel/​boots/​fins.
The first dive was to «Anglers Reef» in Maunalua Bay Oahu, HI. It was an out and back dive to 45′ max depth that was cut to 28 minutes when one of the divers ran low on air. There wasn’t much to see on this dive but that’s the gamble with ocean dives. There were a few fish here and there, an eel, and a puffer fish.
The second dive was to «Koko Craters» in Maunalua Bay Oahu, HI. It was a loop to a max depth of 45′ that lasted almost an hour. This dive had much more to see including a few sea turtles, many more fish, and some interesting underwater landmarks.
Overall:
I wasn’t expecting the choppiness of the ocean surface (due to high winds) and had to use my regulator upon entry. Not a big deal just unexpected. Another unexpected surprise was the tidal surges during and after descent then throughout the duration of the dive. little scary at first but manageable after a few minutes. The ebb and flow even worked to my advantage sometimes carrying me along so I didn’t have to swim, kind of like a drift dive.
Cant forget to mention captain Dan and his expertise which helped smooth things along and make for an effortless excursion.
Thanks again to Aarons dive shop and I’m looking forward to diving with you guys again soon.

First dive in Hawaii was awesome! Shaun was our dive master and Garret was captain/​came on our second dive. Shaun was very professional and laid back at the same time. The boat out to the site was quick and easy. First dive down was beautiful. Conditions were clear and easy. We came up for some fresh pineapple and water to rest before our second dive. Second dive we saw about 4 turtles! Shaun made sure I got some great pictures with the turtle and was really cool about me taking a million pictures like the tourist I am :) would highly recommend! The dive sites weren’t crowded with other divers and I felt safe and well taken care of.
My boyfriend and I went back to rent equipment for the day to do a shore dive and they were once again very nice and helpful, giving us info on great shore dives. We went to sharks cove and had a great time!

Just finished our shore dive at Sharks Cove. Jake was our tour guide and knew exactly where to take us newly certified divers. Great time and would defiantly recommend Aaron’s Dive Shop in Kailua, they have dependable equipment and plenty of knowledge. I did a boat scuba trip with Aaron’s Dive Shop during our vacation to Oahu. I am a novice diver (open water certified with about 15 logged dives, but mostly spaced a year apart on resort trips). I thought the staff at Aaron’s was very thorough, professional, competent, and safe.
We did two dives off of Hawaii Kai. The dive sites themselves were OK — Angler’s Reef — a moderate amount of tropical fish and some eels, but nothing outrageous, and Koko craters, where we saw 2 – 3 sea turtles. It sounded like, due to my self-​description of ability and last dive time (a year ago), I was grouped with a handful of other «certified resort divers» and we went to a more mellow dive location. To be honest, that was fine with me, and I think an appropriately safe choice.
Our dive master was Jake, who was very friendly and informative. He had us set up our own equipment in order to gauge readiness, and he gave a very through pre-​dive briefing. Never felt rushed, and felt like safety was paramount, and that Jake did a good job making sure everyone was taken care of and having a good time. I think our group was a little challenging — there were a few divers with less experience and/​or hadn’t dove in 10 years, and they had some goggle issues, etc. It seemed that Jake did a good job of addressing issues while keeping the group moving at a moderate pace. I appreciate that he sent some divers up on the boat line early on while the rest of us still had air in the tank — and he explained that he would do that too and instructed everyone on how to do a safety stop at 15′.
While it would have been nice to go to someplace a bit more exciting, given my experience level, I was happy with the overall experience, and think that the dive shop was very well run.

I am so freaking happy I decided to grow some balls and try scuba diving. I called Monday to see if there was an opening today and there was! I was nervous since I was going without my friends but after meeting the instructors and the fellow scuba guys I felt like I was one of the pack. I was nervous just because the guys were saying the saw sharks the day prior but I also know the super low percentage of people that actually get attacked.
First off when I walked into Aaron’s dive shop multiple employees greeted me and welcomed me and helped me get more excited for the adventures that lay ahead. Then we all jumped into the can and took off. In the can I got some basic instructions which were repeated until I understood and felt comfortable with them. Then we arrived at the dive site and the guys unloaded everything and showed me how to get dressed (nothing says sexy like a wet suit) anywho from there we got on the boat had some more safety instructions then got the rest of our great on and dove away.
I loved that we got to see two different sites, one being with the turtles which is what I truly wanted to see and I saw tons!!! We saw dozens of different fish.
Even with it being a cloudy day it was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
If you are even just thinking about going DO IT & DO IT WITH AARONS DIVESHOP!!!

My boyfriend and I went on two dive trips with these guys, taking off from the Hawaii Kai area and had a BLAST! We saw tons of sea turtles, eels, a whitetip reef shark (!!), and of course, thousands of beautiful fish. We even saw a whale breaching on our way out!
Jake, our Dive Master, was fantastic! Along with the rest of the crew (Captain Garrett/​first trip, Captain Steve/​second trip, and Carston), all of whom were more than willing to make our trip as easy and fun as possible. They were very professional and efficient, while still making the trip light and fun! Would love you dive again with Aaron’s and would highly recommend them!
