This review is about the appalling appearance of this location. While it is clean the location is in dire need of a complete renovation. Old, worn out and depressing. It’s amazing that any postal location could look like this in Hawaii.
Parking lots gets full at peak times backing up traffic on Puunene.
On the positive though, we’ve had excellent service when carriers brought our numerous boxes to our condo. Most of the counter people are friendly and helpful and they really do try to provide fast service. Great customer service in general.

These guys went over, above, and beyond to get me a package delivered that I needed that day, AFTER HOURS!
So kind, helpful, caring, and thorough with their customer service. So surprised!

This post office is nothing special. It’s conveniently located, has plenty of parking, and reasonable hours. My only complaint is that the service desk area is rather small and lines can get long rather quickly on peak days. I stopped in around the holidays and the line went from one person in the queue to 6+.
The priority mailing items seemed to be in reasonable supply, but the first pen I used, didn’t work (word to the wise, bring your own). Also, they don’t have one of those automated mailing machines, so if you need counter help, make sure you verify the business hours.
The staff was friendly, and seemed to be very experienced. Since the shipping options in Kahului appear to be in short supply, it’s nice to see a post office with reasonable hours (they are even open on Saturday) and plenty of parking.
