History

Established in 1993.

For 20 years the Kiffmanns have been teaching Taekwondo on Maui. They opened the first WTF/​USAT certified Taekwondo school on the island. Their commitment to Taekwondo excellence, vigorous training and discipline, have created some of the best martial artists and Taekwondo athletes. The Kiffmanns are internationally recognized martial artists and are consultants to several foreign Taekwondo schools.

They also hold seminars for teams from India and host the annual Maui Open Taekwondo Championship. This international event gives Maui’s Taekwondo kids a chance to meet fellow practitioners from as far away as Slovenia, Croatia, India or even Nigeria. The Kiffmanns have produced over 100 U.S. National and many International Taekwondo Medalists.

Master Kathryn Kiffmann is a 5^th Dan Kukkiwon certified black belt. She has been actively involved in Taekwondo for over 25 years either as a competitor, instructor, or stunt coordinator. In 1999, she was awarded the «Letter of Appreciation» for Understanding of Korean Culture and promoting Taekwondo by the Republic of Korea. She won gold medals 7-​times at US Nationals, 4-​times at US Open and one time at the USA World Martial Arts Championship.. Master Gunter Kiffmann is a 5^th Dan Kukkiwon certified black belt from Austria, head coach for the Maui Elite National Taekwondo Team and tournament director of the annual Maui Open Taekwondo Championship. His international competition highlights include 3 gold medals at the US Open and 6 gold medals at US Nationals. Master Miles Kiffmann is the youngest Kukkiwon certified 4^th Dan Black Belt in Hawaii. His highest awards include a Gold and a Bronze medal at the US Open and a Silver Medal at the Korea Open.
