Joe’s Custom Upholstery & Auto Detailing

I have two chairs that Joe’s reupolstered for me, and they are beautiful. Excellent craftsmanship. Double piping. I was thoroughly impressed with the work that was done, and I believe the price was fair. I would definitely go back and recommend them to anyone needing work done.

Replaced the headliner on my VW Jetta and did an awesome job. They even cleaned the inside of my car. Great customer service!

Took my car to redo headliner. Headliner was done good but the moulding for the passenger window post was not replaced. When brought to Joe’s attention, he said «it was already like that when I broguht it in.» What!!! I looked at him in disbelief and he said he could repair it for $ 300 more. I told him it wasn’t like that when I broght it in and Joe became argumentative. In total disbelief I just left, knowing I wouldn’t get anywhere with him. Would never go back. After seeing all the negative reviews, I know I’m not alone. I have no idea how he stays in business because he’s been there a while.

Headliner on Jaguar replaced beautifully! Joe (owner) took a personal interest in our project from initial consult to job completion. Joe and staff take their work seriously and are dedicated to quality and detail. Job was ready when promised! Best on Maui, couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Went in for a quote on repairing a lounge chair with some new fabric.
I was treated very rudely by the old lady in the back and was given a very high quote for two small pieces of material… actually more than the chair was worth (just bought a new one… was much cheaper).
There is no way I would want this shop to get one cent of my money.
Definitely look elsewhere… you’ll be happy you did.

HORRIBLE customer service. Joe was rude, loud and when I told him I was not satisfied with the job he threatened me. He asked me where I worked and told me that he was tight with the county and would have me fired. I am a teacher. He did all this in front of my six year old son. Didn’t complete the job on time and as promised. Mysteriously, on my way home my car started smoking and the power steering went out. Upon inspection, the radiator hose was found to be sliced. Don’t go there!

They do good work and the price is high. However I will not support them anymore because of the owner’s terrible attitude and awful service. I have had different cars detailed 5 times. I kept thinking that the owner, Joe would warm up to me since I was bringing him consistent business. The last time he used some sort of acid wash to get the water spots off the windshield and it actually left very fine, permanent scratch marks. He acts like he is doing me a favor by letting me pay him to detail my car. Really?
The final straw was that I asked for a quote to detail the exterior of my car. He looked inside and gave me a price for an inside and outside detail. I said I didn’t want or need the interior detailed. He said he wouldn’t do just an exterior detail! Huh? Way too cocky for me. There are many other fine detailers out there who will WORK to EARN your business. I really think it is time for the owner to retire.

Horrible attitude! There are much better places in town. Don’t go there, run away! there are so many negative reviews on this shop, even my car dealer didn’t like them.

Horrible customer service. Dealt with Joe the owner on two different occasions. Very rude and short from the start. Quality of work was very poor and overpriced. Would recommend you save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

I have had chairs reupholstered and two vehicles detailed. Everything they do here is worthy of 5 stars. I just picked my truck up yesterday and looks like a new truck. My family spends a lot of time at the beach and we do a lot of water sports. My truck had so much sand all over it, I never thought it would all come out. To my amazement, they were able to get all of it out. My truck looks like it did when I bought it new. Thank you Joe and your crew!

I have a 2005 Ford Escape with a sunroof. Long story short I needed the Headliner replaced because a little mouse moved in. The Sunroof was installed at the dealership and when they installed it unbenounced to me they cut away all the healiner backer (its what the fabric is glued too. the dealer basically screwed it up for anyone after that. I knew it was going to be a difficult job for whom ever. I went in and Joe was there at 8 am moving cars around with all his employees. He talked to me, gave me a fair price and finished it early. IT LOOKED BETTER THAN WHEN THE DEALERSHIP DID IT. Not only that, I got there and they have washed my car (I was running late at 6:30 (He was still there working with all his guys)(He said to me jokingly «A car should never be that dirty!» I was having a really down day with moving, work and lots of things. and having to spend money on my car. and that little thing was a good as him handing me my money back. I would highly recommend paying the bit extra for good service. All the guys there were cool and nice. I know upholstery because I was an upholsterer for 20 yrs.

Took my car in to get the headliner material re-​attached. When I made the appointment I was quoted a price and told that they had my car material in stock. I took the car in and picked it up after lunch and inspected the job done. Not only was the material not the same the job looked pitted and there was glue marks! The owner stood by telling me he has done this for 35 years and was barking this as I inspected the job before I paid. I decided to just pay and they over charged me $ 100 than what they quoted, when I got home I noticed my celing and vanity lights were not working. I called and they told me to bring in any time «it was probably a fuse» when I brought it in I explained that something was now draining my car battery of power and would have to jump start it in the mornings after sitting all night. It is a new battery and alternator so owner, ego Jo, proceeeded to mocked me like I was crazy and tried to tell me that my anti rust device was the problem after he admited they accidently cut wires in the ceileing when replacing the headliner. I am so dissapointed in the whole experience and told the owner, he Said to me «OH WELL!» Do not go to these people they will do a crappy job and probably cause many more problems with your car than a fallen headliner. Maybe 35 years of business= being lazy and not caring!

Customer service was above and beyond the norm! Finding this place was so easy, –hello its right next to Maui Tropix aka the Maui Built store, upon arriving they greeted us by the car, the man was so friendly and real, i loved that he said «no worries, I going take care of your car!»
–I was like okay you better! lol!
This detailing was given to me by Maui Toyota… because I purchased a used XB. My car is 3 yrs old and in tip top shape… its not all that dirty but I still wanted it steamed clean!
During the paperwork the owner came by and chatted with us, my hubby asked him to give us a quote for our Ford Bronco… the flooring was taken out and the seats needed a new skin.
We left and they said it’ll take all day, pick up should be around 5pm because the seats need to dry. I called around 3 and they said its done! I got to my car and I swear… it sparkled like a diamond! And even smelt like candy! Thanks guys for «taking care of my car»
We’ll definitely be back to duke up the hubsters truck!

A horrible business man. Does not like any critism. They did a terrible job, carpets all wet and dripping. Ended up smelling in the car. Very disappointed with inside job.

I don’t know what the other person is talking about. Like most things on Maui — you gotta give respect but you’ll get it back. I mean cmon it not Nordstroms — these are car guys.
Having said that — I took my Acura RDX in today and it was beat up looking after 2 years in the sun, no covered parking, big time water spots all over the car and car mats looked like beat to hell. I was only praying for a job half as good as they did. These guys worked a miracle in getting the paint looking brand new, adding a sealant, shampooing the mats. All in all I was very impressed with the quality and it was worth every penny. Let me emphasize these guys do QUALITY work. Now take that to the bank — because thats what I want out of an experience — a job well done for the right price.
