They make their own French bread and it’s really good and crusty. I like the sandwiches and soups but my favorite item is the Side Order Spring Rolls… a big enough serving to be a meal by itself, with cold noodles on the side add lots of lettuce to wrap everything up in. I also like that they have some items ready to go so you can grab them when you’re in a hurry and rush out the door. The atmosphere leaves out a lot to be desired but the food makes up for it.

3 yrs ago place had awesome Unilocal rating so visited and had amazing Banh Mi sandwiches. So of course visited again 4÷30÷16 and was greatly disappointed with sandwiches that made me feel and say that I never want to go back again.

Just came here tonight and ordered the rare beef phở to-go. I came home and the rare beef looked over cooked, dry, and crispy! I always order this to go and it never looks like this! Since I couldn’t enjoy the phở, I called for a refund and after telling my story three times I was told that since I paid with a credit card I had to come back. I live 20 minutes away so I told them that I’ll come back tomorrow. Ten minutes later Bale calls me back and told me that the boss/cook said that there was no way that the meat could have been cooked and I would not get a refund. Never again…

I am giving this place two stars because of the quality of the food. I thought I was going to an authentic Hawaiian restaurant, instead, I got an ok chicken meal with the most artificial tapioca pineapple drink I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, you can get a more authentic meal at Costco. The service was also terrible.

First meal in Maui and very disappointing! My husband and I ordered lunch and tapioca pearl Thai iced tea & tapioca pearl pineapple. Both drinks had hard, extra-chewy, not tasty boba, obvious food coloring, very artificial taste and a gross aftertaste. I got the Vietnamese chicken salad, which tasted like tuna(canned chicken, maybe?) over processed lettuce. My husband’s teriyaki chicken was at least okay.

I would give them 5 stars if they were generous with their main dishes. They put too much noodles not enough chicken and egg rolls in my #17 food plate choice.

Love coming to bale. I always order the seafood soft noodle. Its very ono but only down fall is to much soup and tends to spill in my car. But it’s OK the staff are nice food is still good and fresh.

We made a quick stop here for lunch on the way to Twin Falls. It is in a food court but has incredible Banh Mi sandwiches — try the ginger chicken — so good and the bread is so soft, warm, flakey and sweet. Great for a quick pitstop along the way!

A little bit hard to find if you don’t know that it’s in the food court in the back corner of the strip mall here, but it’s worth finding. The spring rolls are heavy on the mint. We ordered our sandwiches heavy on the vegetables, and the results were crunchy, fresh, satisfying, and delicious. I actually don’t remember the last time I had a better banh mi, though that’s partly a testimony to how disappointing most of the banh mi I eat are. Consider this solid.

It’s your typical food court meal although way more expensive than California but not as tasty IMO. Super packed with limited seating area. The serving is huge though so I guess that’s good but since it doesn’t taste good it doesn’t matter if the serving is big or not. I got the Big-Al I think and it comes with 4 different types of meat — chicken, pork, beef, fish… a side of rice, & small pasta salad with some greens. I was able to finish some rice/salad but the meat was saltier than I’d like so I ended up getting it to-go to eat later. Overall it was below mediocre fast-food and I’m saying it nicely.

Not coming here for PHO! For $ 11 I can go elsewhere! Customer service is so not the business. The cooks don’t use gloves :/it’s really expensive too!

When I crave nourishment, I find myself repeatedly sweating over a steaming hot bowl of ‘Special Phở’ here at Ba-le on Dairy road. There are times when this is all I want, and all that will satisfy. This bowl of magic soup replenishes the blood, the spirit, and gets my highest recommendation!

The sandwiches are great, as well as everything else on the menu. FANTASTIC boba pearl drinks.

The best phở I have ever had… The service was a bit slow because I had to wait 30 minutes for a plate of meat and a bowl of phở

Fantastic lemon grass chicken sandwich. I will try more on this menu. Cashiers were a little slow with«understanding» what people were ordering. Overall a good experience.

Definitely the best of the Maui locations. Although this is located in the food court of Maui Marketplace, don’t mistake the size of the location for being small on flavor when it comes to their food. Phở is always boiling hot and crispy noodles on point but my favorite are the sandwiches! They make the bread fresh here and provide it for other locations. You can tell by how crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside the baguette is that they make these suckers fresh. If you’re a fan of the Lees sandwiches on the mainland — you understand the need for a special kind of crunchy chewiness that goes with your filling. They are very generous with the pickled veggies and jalapeños on request. But the only thing they don’t have for their accoutrements that go with the soups — cilantro or Chinese parsley. I know wtf? But the basil is fresh and their bean sprouts are always crunchy and fresh — no gross slimy brown«tails» here. Be sure to order boba to go with your sandwich — make it complete :)

The chicken fried rice was really good, greasy, but good. The lemon grass chicken tasted just like mom’s and I subbed the noodles with it which paired perfectly with the nuoc mam sauce. Overall, it wasn’t bad for a quick bite to eat. I would eat here again.

Lady in the front seems friendly. The location is in a food court. If you want something else, there are plenty of choices around. Food: 0⁄5 Service: 2⁄5 Cleanliness: 1⁄5 Experience: 0⁄5 Pricing: 1⁄5 We ordered the rare steak phở, egg rolls, and coconut tapioca. The rare steak was on the well done side. The rice noodle fair, but the broth was not broth. It was more on the side of salt water. The egg rolls were on the burnt side. Perhaps being California and surrounded by decent phở places has spoiled me, but please give Maui better phở. I wanted to give 0 stars, but they deserve at least 1 star because I am at fault to go to a Vietnamese sandwich place wishing for good phở.

So far I’ve just had the chicken Bahn mi, it’s pretty good, with fresh authentic roll, a slightly curried lemongrass chicken with pickled daikon and carrot and cilantro. It could use some fresh chili pepper but chili sauce is available and for $ 6.50 its a meal in a sandwich

Ba-Le makes one of the better banh mi I’ve had, and they’re perfect for a long airplane ride. The lemongrass chicken banh mi has a light curry sauce, which makes it a little different and saucier than most. I could use some more pickled veggies and less airy bread, but it’s a good sandwich all the way around. Where to find it? It’s tucked away in the Food Court in the back corner of the strip mall. You won’t see any signs from the outside, but the pin is spot on in the Unilocal map.
