Business Owner

Maria F, owner of Charisma Bakery and Catering, has a true love of food. She specializes in the flavors of the Mediterranean (Greek, Spain and Italy). Maria has worked in Europe with many respected chefs, as well as been personal chefs for high end clients and she also devoted many years of her career working as the head chef in substance abuse rehab centers. Maria has a special place in her heart for DCF due to her experience with working at drug rehab centers. In May of 2014 Maria opened Charisma Bakery and Catering.

Charisma Bakery And Catering participated in a farmer’s market my place of employment held in their parking lot. I went not intending to get lunch necessarily since I had brought something from home, but when I met the woman at Charisma’s I had to try her food.
She sweetly explained to me all the options she offered. There was an italian ziti option, but this particular day it seemed that the focus was mainly Greek. I opted for the veggie pita in which I gave her full reign to make it however she wanted, just telling her no meat. I chose the spicy feta spread to go on it. As a side I had a bean and tomato salad over romaine. Aside from the spicy feta sauce the pita included a chickpea salad, romaine, as well as some other Greek toppings (olives, tomato, onion) and was well dressed with a little bit of oil and vinegar.
The meal was delicious. The portion was huge and everything was very fresh. I wish I had purchased a few more items as she also had spinach pie, and baklava, but I was trying to stick to my diet in some way shape or form.
Obviously I can’t speak for the catering aspect I only got lunch here, and didn’t throw a party; however, I will say this was one of the first food stands to open up at the farmer’s market and the service was friendly and efficient.
