What can I say that hasn’t been said already? If you are in Juneau — particularly if you are on the way to Mendenhall Glacier — you should go. Based on the reviews our family of four dropped by for breakfast and we were not disappointed. The scones(both savory and sweet) were some of the best I’ve ever tasted and perhaps the best I’ve ever had in the US. But it was the cinnamon rolls that were just out of this world better than I’ve ever dreamed could exist — crunchy and flaky and cinnamon-y without being overly sweet. The coffee is good and the espresso drinks are fabulous. The atmosphere is charming though the seating is a little cramped. And the owners/managers could not be nicer. It was just a wonderful experience.

Truly a Paradise. I wanted to take a picture of all the baked goodies but when the peach blackberry coffeecake showed up I just forgot everything and I enjoyed the sublime breakfast with a splendid Latte sweetened with hardened caramelized sugar! Try it you’d love it!

Wonderful surprise in this restaurant! The food was fantastic. A co-worker and I were in town for work and looked on Unilocal for restaurants and I have to say the reviews we correct! This place has wonderful food and pastries. I highly recommend stopping by don’t let the exterior fool you.

Amazing, amazing, delicious pastries and baked goods. Don’t let the outside fool you. This place is utterly charming, warm and wonderful inside. The cinnamon rolls are made from a croissant-style dough, flaky and buttery and ridiculously delicious. We also had a couple of breakfast sandwiches made from a scone like biscuit, which was deliciously seasoned and just the right mount of crumbly. Cappuccinos were STRONG and made perfectly. The ONLY thing I could possibly find to complain about this place is that they’re not open every day. If you’ve only got a few days in Juneau, plan your breakfasts around when this place is open. You’ll be glad you did!

Overlooking Paradise Café would have been a HUGE mistake during our Juneau stay. Luckily our AMAZING host, Nolan, showed us the way(more than once!) and took us to Paradise Café on our way to the airport and I’m certainly glad he did!!! I didn’t expect Paradise Café to be so quaint and cute and decorated wonderfully — it was adorable! The owner, Joan, has remarkable taste and style. I hope to borrow some of her ideas for my new apartment! So once we made our way up to the counter, I saw all of the appetizing dishes and I truly wanted to sample one of each. Remarkable sandwiches, salads, quiches, scones… everything looked great. My friend and I both ended up getting quiches while Nolan got what appeared to be one of the freshest looking salads I had ever seen! We also treated ourselves to some mimosas — SO good. Honestly, one of the best mimosas I’ve ever had. They are presented beautifully as well. Although a little on the pricey side, everything was totally worth it — from the presentation to the freshness to the taste! Everyone is very friendly at Paradise Café and I’m not just talking about the owner and fellow employees but the other customers at the restaurant were welcoming, too! Paradise Café and Juneau as a whole are great places to be. Such a sense of community coupled with amazing and healthy food — I love it all! Paradise Café is as good as it gets — be sure to check it out — you won’t be disappointed!!!

A tiny taste of Paris in Juneau. We were looking for a quick coffee and pastry and came upon this place. It’s the last thing we expected to find in a muddy, unpaved, parking lot. The inside is set up like a European café with sunny décor, bright table cloths, art, and instruments on the walls. We got out coffee and pastries and they were delicious. I wish we had had more time to spend here, I could easily have spent all day here eating their wide selection of sweet and savory pastries.

Came up for the Alaska Improv Festival and stumbled across this perfection of a café. Everything was so clean and cute and the food was PERFECT! Like, that doesn’t happen in real life, but it did at the Paradise Café. Plus the workers were so sweet and personable. They weren’t pushy or high energy, but perfectly lovely human beings. I definitely want to come back soon!

Went by today to get the kids some pastries. There was nothing there. When I asked the lady if we were in the wrong part of the bakery she was incredibly rude saying NO, this is it. I said can I buy some donuts or croissants. Shoved a basket of grilled peppers and weird foods and said that all there is. Wont be be going there anytime soon. Or Ever.

This is one of my favorite places go to in Juneau! Paradise Café is a gem! absolutely and truly! The space is a bit small and is filled with kitschy and quaint décor. It can be a little confusing as there are no prices listed and no menu is posted. I think it adds to the charming, homey atmosphere. The owner Joan is a lovely human being who seems to make every one feel like family. Everything I have ever tried here is amazing! The menu is constantly changing but it really doesn’t matter because it is all delicious. The sandwiches, the pasta salads, the flatbreads, the quiche, all the pastries and cookies. GET them. I am not a huge fan of live music in café houses. But when a quartet of folk musicians randomly showed up and started to play I was actually enjoyed it! Can this place do no wrong! Do yourself a favor. Ditch the touristy downtown area and come here next time you are in Juneau!

The food was okay. The sandwiches were fairly average paninis. The service wasn’t great.(Which I have found to be pretty typical in Juneau.) We were a two-top and were ignored. They forgot our dessert. The two large parties — one of whom seemed to be friends of the owner got much better service.

Four days in Juneau requires four days at Paradise Café. Below is why we keep coming back… * Chicken pesto pepperjack griller(ooey gooey cheese) * Bacon, egg, & cheese scrambler on a savory scone(typically scones are dry, these are surprisingly moist with a hint of sweetness) * Chocolate croissant(when they’re fresh the chocolate just drips) * Almond cinnamon wheel(super soft and gooey) * Berries in paradise bread pudding(get whip cream on top… just enough crunchy and softness to make everyone happy) * Ham and cheese croissant(the ham and cheese is baked within the croissant… yum!) The sweets are delightfully sweet. The savory foods also have a hint of sweetness too which tends to play with the taste buds. They only sell two of each item to provide enough for all. But you can order ahead of time if you want more. There are so many options it’s hard to decide on just one. The atmosphere definitely lends a café ambiance with modern deco and hip tables. The only drawback is if you have little ones. They want to touch everything and can sometimes spell disaster in an intimate setting like this. There is outdoor seating to help with the kiddo chaos. Instead we just took our food to go and ate next to the surrounding lakes just a couple minutes away by car. I’m certain once we leave Juneau we’ll be craving Paradise Café!

Not only the best pastries in Juneau, but these compete with some of the best I’ve ever had. The ham and cheese croissant has a little sweetness to the dough that adds great nuance to the flavor. I also tried a cinnamon roll and a berry scone. Both were delicious. The place gave me good vibes and the people were friendly. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of attitude at the Silverbow, so this was a delightful discovery. I will be back!

Good food and coffee. Too small of a space and seats aren’t comfortable enough to feel really comfy to stay long.

I just had a flavor explosion in my mouth. This place is busy and you have to be patient but it is well worth the wait. The ham and cheese croissant is insanely good — perfect amount of cheese, cinnamon hint, savory ham… wow. I also picked up a very berry scone. This place is a must if you haven’t yet been.

I enjoyed breakfast at this small establishment. The owner was working and guided me through the variations of breakfast sandwiches. I settled on a croissant and egg sandwich and a latte. She took the croissant to the back and told me to have a seat. When it showed up I was pleasantly surprised. Cheddar cheese and a tomato slice on top, spinach on the egg. It was really tasty. It seems like a locals spot, and was glad that I stopped in.

Quaint, trendy, nostalgic and adorable are all words that came to my mind upon entering the Paradise Café. I was with a client who lives in Juneau and had recommended this restaurant. Large paintings of Patsy Cline and Dale Evans are at the serving area with accents of western theme(cowgirl boots), inspirational quotes and antiques around the room. Outside seating is available too but we opted to stay inside. Truly the most charming café I’ve ever been to. Now on to the food, which was outstanding. While there is a menu, all of the food choices were displayed so that you know what you will get. Food is made to order. Sandwiches and pizza were the main items I recall. I opted for the Ham & Cheddar Foccacia sandwich which was accompanied by a very small amount of pasta and green salad. They offered iced tea or lemonade among other juices, teas and coffee. I opted to create an Arnold Palmer and couldn’t be more pleased. The bread was fresh and toasted perfectly. In addition to the lunch choices it’s evident that they specialize in baked goods, including gluten free items. I couldn’t resist the samples of lemon bars. Selections included chocolate chip, peanut, oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies(dusted with powdered sugar). Many other pastries, scones, berry pie, chocolate cake and bread pudding. Last but not least is the service which was lead by the owner. These folks love what they do and it shows. I will definitely be back in six months when I return to Juneau.
